Chapter 38: Outing with the Visitor ②
Haruya was too lazy to keep checking if Maya was following him and as a result, he lost sight of her.
Most likely, she got distracted by the novelty of the buildings around them and ran off somewhere.
It was quite a hassle for Haruya to look for her among the crowded streets.
(…Even though our destination is just right in front of us.)
The department store that Haruya usually goes to was visible in front of him, and it was also one of the famous spots in the area.
He let out a deep sigh and took out his smartphone to call Maya, but there was no answer.
“She’s not picking up…”
He tried calling her multiple times, but there was still no answer.
Annoyed, Haruya scratched his head and urged his sister to send him her location through the messaging app.
Finally, they were able to reunite after about 20 minutes when Maya replied, “Sorry, I’m on my way.”
Until then, Haruya aimlessly wandered around the department store in his unremarkable clothes.
He was worried about running into someone he knew, but it turned out to be just needless anxiety.
As soon as they stepped out of the air-conditioned department store and into the warm, humid air outside, Haruya immediately spotted Maya.
There seemed to be three other people with her, but Haruya couldn’t tell if it was just his imagination.
He ran towards Maya, but his spine froze when she suddenly said,
“Hey, Haruya. These people are really beautiful and also have great personalities, you know!?”
With shining eyes, Maya was being petted by one of the three aforementioned people.
From the way the other two were glancing at the scene with lowered eyes, it was clear to Haruya that his sister had been taken care of by these people while they were separated.
Normally, Haruya would greet them right away, assuming that his sister had been taken care of by them.
However, this time he was frozen in place, with a wry smile on his face.
It was understandable, considering that these were the last people Haruya wanted to meet right now.
One of them had peach-colored hair and a delicate body.
Another had black hair and blue eyes.
The third had flaxen hair and amber eyes.
Lately, Haruya had become interested in S-class beauties not as potential romantic partners, but as a way to protect his own lifestyle.
There was no mistaking it. The three people that his sister met was, the S-class beauties
(No way, this can’t be happening…)
As his thoughts became scattered, he suddenly realized that the S-class beauties were looking at him.
Sara, Rin, and Yuna were all staring at Haruya.
As his heart began to pound faster, he nodded his head, but Maya gave him a displeased look.
From her expression, her eyebrows were slightly furrowed.
“They helped me when I was lost… Haruya, is that any way to act to the person who helped your sister?”
(… Shut up)
In reality, Maya was absolutely right, but Haruya couldn’t say anything.
Even if his appearance and attire was different when they met him, his voice was of course, still the same.
Haruya was silently sweating, afraid that if he spoke, the girls would notice him.
“By the way… you’re Akasaki, right?”
“Akasaki-san? I’m sorry, but I don’t know him?”
“Um, he’s a boy in our class who doesn’t really stand out, Sara-chan.”
Now, facing Haruya, the S-class beauties began to share information about him.
Rin and Yuna seemed to know about Haruya, but Sara didn’t and tilted her head in confusion.
For Haruya, he didn’t need them to remember him, in fact, he preferred if they didn’t. He was sweating profusely from all over his body.
“Eh, Haruya. You’re in the same class! With these girls.”
His little sister was surprised at first, but then had a sneaky grin on her face.
She secretly took out her smartphone and began to type a message to someone.
—Beep.
His smartphone made a sound and when he checked the message, it was from Maya who was nearby.
: Good for you, Haruya. I made it possible for you to become friends with these girls! I’ll lead the way from now on, so seize the opportunity ♡
Haruya’s grip on the phone tightened involuntarily.
From his perspective, Maya was being too meddlesome and he wanted to plead with her to stop.
It seems that his little sister, Maya, had become the “glass slipper of Cinderella” that connected Haruya with the S-class beauties.
(…Please, give me a break)
At this moment, Haruya’s battle began, one where he couldn’t let the S-class beauties find out.
