Chapter 39: Outing with the Visitor ③
Although he had only intended to show his little sister Maya around town, things unexpectedly took a different turn.
Despite the hot weather making everyone else sweat, Haruya was the only one breaking out in a cold sweat.
Currently, Haruya and the others were stopping by a nearby family restaurant with Maya, while they just got there, Haruya’s heart was already filled with the desire to go home.
“Thank you so much for helping me when I was in trouble!”
“Oh no, it’s okay. I was lost myself too anyway,” replied Sara, bowing her head in response.
This was after Haruya and Maya had gotten separated. Maya had gotten lost, but happened to come across Sara just as she was being hit on by someone, and Maya drove them away. She was quite a scary little sister after all.
“Yeah, thanks for helping out our friend.”
“It was before we got here, so you really saved her.”
Yuna and Rin followed with words of thanks to Maya.
Haruya felt torn between wanting to be proud of his little sister and wanting to scold her for causing such a commotion before they arrived.
“Hey, how did you fend off the guy who tried to pick her up?”
Haruya asked Maya in a hushed voice, so the S-class beauties sitting next to her wouldn’t hear him.
From what Haruya knew about Maya, he couldn’t imagine her fending off a pick-up artist like that. He thought maybe she had threatened to call the police or something.
“Huh? I just treated him nicely though.”
“Treated him nicely… no way you can?”
Haruya furrowed his brow and joked, but Maya’s expression was dead serious.
As Haruya was left scratching his head in confusion, the S-class beauties continued their conversation with expressions of amazement.
“Anyway, it was amazing! Akasaki-san’s sister. She easily dealt with a rough-looking person.”
“…She’s strong, Akasaki’s sister.”
“Well, I kind of want to see that scene now.”
From the conversation between the S-class beauties facing each other, it seemed that his sister’s words were not a lie.
Haruya was surprised and dumbfounded by the transformation of his own sister.
“Everyone, I’m happy to hear your compliments, but my brother is even more amazing than me.”
(…Huh?)
Haruya let out an inwardly stunned retort, but his thoughts were unsteady and he froze, ignored by his sister as she continued to drop bomb after bomb.
“I’m not talking about picking up girls or anything. My brother is a ‘strong man’ who is feared by those around him, and on top of that, he’s also kind.”
(No-no-no… What are you talking about? Who is this guy you’re talking about?)
Haruya couldn’t help but think that his sister was spouting unbelievable lies and wanted to scold her.
However, the situation was what it was.
He couldn’t let the “S-class beauties” know his true identity. If he spoke up, there was a risk of being found out, so Haruya suppressed his voice and endured.
(…I don’t know what she’s trying to do, but it should be a waste of time to harass me like this. After all, if they know about my normal school life, they shouldn’t have such an image of me.)
Objectively speaking, Haruya was leading an unremarkable school life. Therefore, he thought it was meaningless for his sister to make up such unfounded stories, no matter how hard she tried to do so.
However, the situation was about to take an unexpected turn.
“Wow, Akasaki-san is amazing!”
“Is that so… my image of him has changed a bit.”
“You know, now that I think about it, with a little bit of grooming, Akasaki could transform into a handsome guy.”
The S-class beauties not only denied his expectations but also expressed their admiration for him.
Haruya, who was the target of their gaze, inwardly frowned in discomfort.
“No, that’s not true,” Haruya denied in a falsetto voice to avoid being recognized by his natural voice.
Then, the S-class beauties reacted:
“Hey, hey, Akasaki-san. What’s with that voice…Please don’t say funny things.”
“Hehe, Akasaki can be quite funny sometimes.”
“That was a little funny, it got me.”
Why is it so? For some reason, the S-class beauties found Haruya’s voice amusing and all three of them chuckled.
By the way, Haruya’s sister sitting next to him gave a thumbs up and struck a good pose.
Perhaps she wanted to say “well done” judging from her expression. At any rate, it seems that Haruya’s evaluation among the S-class beauties has improved.
(…Why did this happen? It’s going to be even worse if they find out my true identity.)
Haruya, while resenting his sister sitting in the next seat, once again buried his head in his hands.
