Fleeting Parting

Ellen’s face lit up.

Whether I’m going to be an adventurer or a mercenary, the world is not that easy. It would take at least several years to be able to eat properly and at least ten years to be able to set up a proper home.

It should take quite a few years. By then, Ellen would be in a good age for marrying someone. I’m sure she’ll be married off somewhere. My stepbrother and stepmother were mean people, but they are kind to their relatives. They’ll be good to Ellen even if they are mean to me.
