Chapter 11: Discovery
[Alice’s POV]
He soared through the skies towards the town.
“He’s gone.”
“Yes, indeed.”
“…Normally, you can’t fly that fast.”
Indeed, while top-tier mages can fly, they usually can’t reach such high speeds.
Watching him fly back at such a high speed, as if it were nothing, made me chuckle a bit.
“…What do you think about him?”
I asked, curious about the party members’ impressions of him.
“I think he’s not a bad person.”
“Yes, he didn’t have that creepy stare either. I agree.”
“He didn’t make any inappropriate demands either.”
I briefly thought he might make some lewd request as a form of gratitude, but thankfully, that was just my unfounded worry.
It was a relief, especially since his mask made him a bit scary.
“That man… I’m curious about him.”
“Eh?”
Stella exclaimed in surprise, which was understandable. Liz had never shown interest in men before.
Our party, myself included, generally had no interest in men and even disliked them.
“But, yes… I am a bit curious too.”
“Heh, Carla too?”
I was surprised. It wasn’t just Liz; Carla seemed intrigued as well.
Well, I wasn’t completely indifferent either, and it seemed Stella might not be totally disinterested after all.
“Speaking of which…”
““??””
(He mentioned something pretty important, didn’t he? It was about the quest needing… was it orcs?)
I started with a smile around my lips,
“Did everyone hear that? It seems he needed an orc for the quest.”
“I heard it clearly.”
“Yes, I heard it.”
“Heard it loud and clear.”
“So, what about it?”
It seemed everyone had heard. Maybe I was being a bit silly to bring this up.
“Look, since he saved our lives… shouldn’t we properly thank him when we get back to town?”
“Uh?… Well, but that’s… I mean…”
Carla seemed hesitant. She was interested but worried it might be a bother.
“That’s a great idea.”
Liz surprisingly said with more enthusiasm than usual, which was rare for the usually lazy and unmotivated Liz.
“Yeah, I think it’s a good idea too.”
Great! Stella was on board too. I felt happy inside.
“Alright. Let’s make sure to thank him properly when we get back to town.”
“Sounds like a plan. The quest for the orc, huh?”
The quest involving the orcs was either to subdue them or to scout. Moreover, the number of orc-related quests in this area had decreased significantly due to the Green Dragon, so finding him shouldn’t be too difficult.
Thinking about meeting him again and wondering what kind of person he was made my heart flutter a bit.
“Fufufu… I’ll definitely find you.”
I said as I looked towards the direction of the town.
