Chapter 8 – Let’s set up a workshop! –

「Come on! Elle!　Let’s go!　Hurry!」

「Crops, please give me strength….」

I close my eyes and draw the sign of the cross as I pray to the god of crops.

I activate my original alchemy. It’s an alchemy that allows me to perceive space without using my vision. It was originally applied so I can completely understand the First Quality Primamateria in my surroundings. This ability is something that came to me as I studied crops. In this state, I won’t be able to preceive visual information, but I can only preceive silhouettes and clear color shapes.

Using this, I can fulfil Fii’s request with my eyes closed.

Agricultural products are great, after all. If I hadn’t been studying academy on crops, I would be in a tight spot right now. But I can do this. I can overcome this.

I quickly go to the bathroom and borrowed a towel and tied it around my eyes, covering them. Its Hard. Yes, hard. I don’t want to get in any weird relationship with Fii. She’s my friend. I should stay firm.

I should start heading home.

The moment I was about to open the door, I could already hear Fii breathing soundly in her sleep.

She must have been really tired. Stress from repetitive struggles. I’d be happy if I could relieve some of that stress.

Then I went back to my house. Well, it’s right next door anyway.

I look at the clock on my bedside table and see that it’s 10am.

Fii said this to me with a bright red face. Maybe she just got out of bed because she’s wearing the adorable bear pajamas. Oh, come to think of it, I looked at her shelves last night and found a lot of cute pajamas. As I was thinking about it, Fii came at me with an even redder face.

I was in the basement of the apartment building. In truth, there is no such thing as a basement in the building I live in now, but I used alchemy to rebuild and create it. Just in case, I’ve got permission from various concerned parties. Besides, I built the basement in a slightly deeper area so as not to bother the people living here.

It’s as big as the whole floor, which is quite large. But in order to do extensive research, this size is necessary. I’ll be working on reports in my room and experiments in this workshop.

As I was making preparations, two visitors came in.

It’s Serena and Fred that’s here today. They both had a day off, so I asked them to come. It’s not easy to set up a workshop by yourself.

「I’m glad you’re both here. Fred, you can leave those over there. You’ve been very helpful. Thank you.」

「No, no, I’m happy to help you, Master.」

「So what are we supposed to do?」

「We just need to set up the lab equipment for now.」

「…..Well, just tell me what to do. I’ll do it perfectly.」

Just like we did when we were students, the three of us started working together.

Most of the experimental equipment is large, I could use alchemy to set it up on my own, but unfortunately I’m not a person with that much magic power. But Serena and Fred have more magic power than me. That’s why I called the two of them today.

We started with the big apparatuses. These are the instruments that I created myself. From a machine that measures the sugar content of crops to one that can accurately determine vital data. The smaller instruments are the more common ones, such as flasks and test tubes.

And so, after two hours of hard work, my workshop was completed.

That’s right….its complete. Looking back now, its been a long road. Ever since I was a student, it was my dream to have my own workshop, where I could stay, and make the best farm products.

There were so many things that happened. I swore at an early age that I would be the best farmer in the world, and I learned that alchemy was the best way to improve the crop’s breed. Then I enrolled in the Canovaria Alchemy Institute and furthered my knowledge of alchemy. All in order to make my dreams come true. When I was a student, I made a lot of mistakes. There were times when I would waste my crops. Every time I shed tears, I promised myself that I would never let their sacrifice go to waste. I promised myself that I would be the best farmer in the world.

As I was reminiscing, I became a bitemotional and i started to shed tears.

「Ah….. I’ve finally made it…..」

「Master!　This is the workshop you dreamed of when we were in school!」

「Congratulations, Elle. I’m so happy for you. You’re one step closer to your dream…..」

「You guys…..ugh, thank you.」

Serena and Fred gives me a few words of encouragement. Looking back now, it wasn’t a good first meeting for either of us at first. I thought they were an obstacle, to say the least. That’s why I screwed them over. I was aware that I was more skilled in alchemy than they were, and that’s why I thought that once messed with them, they wouldn’t get involved with meagain.

But these two have always been serious about supporting my dreams. From that moment on, I’ve always been friends with them. I also miss the memories of us doing stipid things. Even though it’s not even a month since I graduated, but somehow it feels like its been a long time.

「I’m going to make my dream come true. And I’m going to be the best farmer in the world at…..」

They both smiled at me as I said this with tears in my eyes.

Ah….. I really do have some good friends.

But then Serena pulls my hand and led me to go up stairs.

「Eh?　What’s the matter, Serena?　I’m going to start researching 『flapping onions』 now…..」

「You’re supposed to train with me today.　You said we’d do it when this was over.」

「Ah!　Now that you said it…..」

「Master!　I also want master to train with me its been so long!」

Un. Well, it’s not bad to be the one on the receiving end. But….yeah, I wanted to start studying…..immediately.

And thus, without restrain, I was taken away by Serena and Fred.
