Chapter 20: Liam, Won’t Forgive

“So it’s not a magic power that I need to release… Meria-san, I still don’t quite understand what you’re talking about, but what will happen if I release the so-called ‘pent-up stress’ you’re talking about?”

I asked her that question and Meria-san replied in a very sweet voice.

“Well….For one, I think Liam-kun is going to feel really good. You will feel so much pleasure, beyond anything you can think of… No, I will personally make sure you will feel so good, Liam-kun.”

“Fe-Feel good…?”

“Yes… But you see, just talking about it won’t solve Liam-kun’s stress problem, nor will it make you feel good. We need to actually give it a try first.”

Meria-san said as she traced her fingers along my body. She gradually moved lower and lower.

“Liam-kun, just lie down and leave everything to me, okay?”

“O-Okay…!”

Although I still didn’t quite understand what Meria-san was trying to do to me, but if it could help me release whatever pent-up stress I had and could make me feel good in return, maybe….

But before anything could happen, there was a sudden loud noise and by the time I realized it, Lydia-san had already woken up. She already had her sword in hand, ready to strike Melia-san down. It was a【Magic Piercing Slash】skill. Realizing this, Meria-san was about to cast a defensive spell—but just like me, she was a second too late to notice Lydia-san’s 【Magic Piercing Slash】. So instead of casting a barrier, Meria-san opted to cast wind magic on herself to put some distance between her and Lydia-san. 

“Wait! That attack just now! It was an attack meant to pierce through a barrier, right?! If I hadn’t quickly switched to wind magic, I would’ve been dead by now! I mean, if it had been any other mage besides me, they’d definitely be dead by now!”

I just stood there, flabbergasted. Meria-san shouted at Lydia-san while Lydia-san only quietly sheathed her sword back. Indeed. Lydia-san’s attack was meant to penetrate a barrier made from magic. If Meria-san had cast a barrier instead of propelling herself backward with wind magic, she would’ve gotten seriously injured. 

“I knew that if I pretended to stay asleep you would start acting foolishly again. I fully intended to exploit the opening created by your folly… But still, the thought of someone like you laying a hand on Liam-san was unbearable to me. That was my only mistake.”

“Geeeez!~ I was just trying to do something a bit lewd with Liam-kun! Come on! Stop getting in my way!~”

“So-Something a bit lewd?!”

I was shocked upon hearing Meria-san’s words. 

Le-Lewd things… Just what was Meria-san meant by lewd things? She said I had to release what was building up in me to reduce stress so I could ensure my magic power would be in its prime condition and I could also feel really good if I released it…..

“Ah!!”

After thinking about it thoroughly, I finally understood the hidden implications behind Lydia-san’s conversation with me and what Meria-san had been trying to tell me about. My face instantly grew hot from embarrassment.

“Liam-kun! Your face is bright red! So adorableeee!~”

“-?! Pl-Please rest assured, Liam-san! As long as you have me by your side, I won’t let filthy scoundrels like her lay a single finger on you!”

“But my fingers already touched him earlier though?~”

“Silence!”

The two of them continued to bicker like usual, but… The embarrassment from not realizing their true intentions until this late was so overwhelming. All of the shame and embarrassment piled up together. To hide my embarrassment, I quickly got out of bed and ran toward the door while shouting.

“Ple-Please leave me alone for a bit!!”

“Li-Liam-san?! Ple-Please wai—”

It seemed Lydia-san wanted to say something to me, but the embarrassment was too overwhelming for me to bear. So I ignored her and ran out of the room. I continued running and running, leaving the inn behind. 

“Anyway… I just need to be alone so I can calm myself down—”

Once I was far enough from the inn, I decided to take a break to calm myself down when…

“Huh? I thought I saw someone familiar, but it turns out it’s Liam!”

“Huh?”

I heard a familiar voice, so I turned around and there, I saw Zayn-san and my former party members standing before me.

“Za-Zayn-san?! Why are you here, Zayn-san…?”

“I just received a big job to do here… But more importantly, heh. You look pretty miserable, aren’t you? Walking alone on your own… Looks like there’s no party willing to take someone like you in, huh?”

“Well, I’m not in a party right now,  but I’ve found someone who’s willing to travel with me.”

“Heh. In any case, I’m sure your companion is just some random weakling—”

The moment Zayn-san said that, I instinctively released magic power from my entire body. Because of it, Zayn-san and his party members flinched back. Their arms were outstretched to shield themselves from the magical tempest. Holes started to appear on the floor created from plants, a unique characteristic of the Elf Kingdom. However, I couldn’t suppress the magic power leaking from my body. 

“Huh-?! Wha-What’s with this magic power…”

“You can say whatever you want about me, but if you dare to speak ill of the person who’s accompanying me… I won’t forgive you, even if it’s you, Zayn-san.”
