The Expelled, Oblivious Strongest Boy Saves an S-Rank Beautiful Female Adventurer and Unknowingly Forms a Harem - 1
Chapter 1: Liam Gets Expelled
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
“Liam, you’re expelled from this party!”
“WHAT?!”
We were inside the Adventurers’ Guild when Zayn-san, the leader of the party I had been part of since I turned 15 last year, told me that I was expelled from the party.
“E-Expelled? Why? Ah, I knew it. My existence is a bother for everyone in this A-rank party, huh?”
“Yeah. You’re lacking the skill to stay in our party. If you get it then get lost now.”
“Wait! Could please be more specific—”
“I TOLD YOU TO SCRAM!!”
Zayn-san said as he tried to punch me with his flaming fist, but I lightly caught his fist and said…
“Zayn-san, I know how kind you are. Even while you’re this angry, you’re still holding your power back. You only attack me with such gentle force and magic power. You are truly kind, so please! Let’s have a proper talk first!”
“Ugh-?! You’re still as irritating as ever… Yeah. Right. That was me holding back… Then you better take this and get lost now!!”
Zayn-san said before he charged his sword with magic power and swung his sword at me. However, I easily avoided his attack. This attack only convinced me even more that Zayn-san was really kind after all.
“Zayn-san… Even though you’re angry at me, but you’re still swinging your sword so slowly at me. I knew it—”
“SHUT UP!! JUST GO AWAY!! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!”
Zayn-san said while he repeatedly swung his sword at me. With this, I realized that having a proper conversation with him might not be feasible now, so I said.
“Understood. I understand I’m getting expelled because I’m still lacking in many things, but… Please let me speak with you again after I train and become stronger! That’s all! I’ll be leaving now!”
With that, I parted ways with Zayn-san and the other two party members and left the Adventurers’ Guild.
◆◇◆
Inside the Adventurers’ Guild, Liam’s former party members watched his retreating figure before they began to talk with each other again.
“DArn it… That guy is still irritating until the very end.”
Zayn, the leader of the party, said so. The other party members also nodded in agreement. One was a male adventurer and the other was a female adventurer.
“Yeah. He’s getting cocky just because he’s a bit stronger.”
“I know, right?~”
Seeing the two remaining party members agreeing with him, Zayn smirked.
“I’ll be honest. That guy is strong, but he’s a complete idiot. He single-handedly defeated the monsters, but he somehow misunderstood things and sincerely believed he was able to do that solely because of us. Thanks to that, he gave us most of the quest reward. Well, thanks to him, we won’t need to worry about money for a while.”
Most of the quests for A-rank party were quests that could be handled by one S-rank adventurer or ones that could barely be completed by A-rank party depending on how good their teamwork was. S-rank adventurers were often quite eccentric in terms of personality and generally worked solo rather than in a party. Hence why, sometimes A-rank parties had to take on those kinds of quests in place of those eccentric S-rank adventurers. Of course, A-rank party was not as strong as one S-rank adventurer, hence why great teamwork was required to be able to complete those kinds of quests.
However, Liam was able to defeat monsters that were normally handled by S-rank adventurers without breaking a sweat. Under normal circumstances, people would get elated by this fact. They would become more confident, but in Liam’s case… His assumptions always went beyond what was normal. He wholeheartedly believed he was only able to achieve that amazing feat thanks to his party members.
“Everyone’s enhancement magic is really amazing!”
“Thank goodness! The monster suits us perfectly! That’s why we can defeat it so easily!”
Never once he thought he was able to defeat those dangerous monsters because he was strong. Of course, A-rank adventurers could use good enhancement magic and most of them had good teamwork. However, it was impossible for someone to be able to handle S-rank quest solo without even breaking a sweat. Liam had done this multiple times. It was clear to see that he possessed an abnormal level of strength. Zayn and the other members of the party had been abusing Liam’s power and personality to hog the majority of the quest rewards without putting hardly any effort in it.
“It was really a pain in the ass to stay with that idiot until we reached our goal. But in the end, we managed to fill our coffers with money. That guy is an idiot, but he’s really easy to exploit until the very end… Darn. I wanted to give him one last punch, but, oh well. I will let him go without any scratch since we already got the money.”
“That guy… Do you think he will come back to get his revenge on us?”
“That idiot would never do anything like that. Besides, we’ve already made a name for ourselves just as we planned. We will just need to complete more quests, improve our reputation and enjoy the wealth we have now that there’s no one getting in our way.”
“Agreed~”
Afterwards, the three of them left the Adventurers’ Guild while laughing loudly to head toward the tavern.
◆◇◆
After leaving the Adventurers’ Guild and coming to terms with just how weak I was, I decided to focus on doing basic training all over again. I went to a cave a bit away from the city to hone my body.
“I remember Big Sister once said this place is perfect for training. I guess I will try to train in this place for a while.”
Upon entering the cave, I used magic detection to scour the area. Magic detection allowed me to sense the existence of something based on the reaction of the magic in the air. I was able to detect the presence of a dragon and a person fighting it.
“Both the dragon and the person seem to be getting weak… But at this rate, that person is going to get defeated by the dragon. I’m not sure if I can be of any help, given how weak I am. But there’s no way I can just leave that person to die here!”
【Wind Thunder Dash 】
I used both wind and lightning magic so I could reach the dragon quickly. There, I found a tall woman with blonde hair standing before a dragon with her sword in hand. The woman had a dignified face and she was panting heavily. It seemed she was the type to focus on speed, since her equipment was quite light. While those light equipment wouldn’t pose a problem against other monsters, but those light equipment wouldn’t be able to protect her much from a dragon’s attack. A single hit from the dragon could be fatal for her. Her good agility seemed to allow her to dodge most of the dragon’s attack, but it was clear to see she had exerted too much stamina to avoid all those attacks. After all, the magic response from her was quite weak for an adult woman like her.
“There’s no way I’m going to die here…!! Huh?! You! What are you doing there?!”
Noticing my presence, the blonde woman yelled. Her voice echoed throughout the cave.
“I-I’m sorry! I came here to train and I thought you might be in trouble. So I came to help, but I’m not sure if I can be of help to you though!”
“-?! I am Lydia Astoria, a knight of the proud Astoria family and an S-rank adventurer! I do not need any help! If your resolve is still half-baked, then you better leave!! Go train somewhere else!”
“S-rank adventurer..?! Bu-But I’m not here with half-baked resolve either!”
While we were having this conversation, the dragon was preparing to unleash its fire breath against Lydia. However, Lydia seemed to notice this a bit later than I did. Her focus was on me, so she failed to react in time to defend herself.
“Lydia-san!!!”
I used 【Wind Thunder Dash 】to get in front of Lydia-san and took on the fire blast in her place.
“What are you doing?! A dragon’s flames are deadly! Even I would be dead if I got hit directly by it!”
Lydia-san yelled, but her eyes widened even further in surprise upon knowing the state I was in.
“You’re unhurt…? How come you can remain unscathed?!”
“I could tell the dragon’s magic wouldn’t be able to harm me based on the power of its magic power. This is all thanks to you, Lydia-san! You’ve weakened the dragon beforehand, that’s why I didn’t get hurt by the dragon’s flames!”
“No,no,no. Even if the dragon is already weakened, but to be able to receive a direct hit from a dragon without a single scratch on you is still—”
I decided to listen to the rest of Lydia-san’s speech later so I could take advantage of the dragon’s vulnerability from spewing all those flames at me. I closed the distance between me and the dragon and used 【Ice Veil】 to freeze the dragon.
“Yo-You… Just what are you…?”
With her eyes wide open, Lydia-san asked me. And so, I decided to properly introduce myself to her.
“My name is Liam! I recently got expelled from an A-rank party!”
“Liam-san, huh…”
“Yes! I hope I can become an excellent S-rank adventurer like Lydia-san one day!”
“No, wait?! E-Expelled?! You were expelled from an A-rank party?!”
For some reason, Lydia-san looked flabbergasted upon realizing I had been expelled from my party. And so, we decided to have a little chat while walking towards the cave’s exit.
