The Exiled Alchemist Unknowingly Becomes a Legend – Living Happily in the Frontier with My Yandere Little Sister (the Kingdom’s Guardian Dragon) - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Creating an SSS-Rank Holy Beast Unicorn
“The only horse I’ve got for someone who was rude to Lady Valitra is this one right here!”
When we went to buy a horse, the ranch owner handed over a shaky old nag. It could barely even stand, let alone run. On top of that, its body was covered in countless whip scars, probably from the ranch owner himself.
“Sigh… more harassment, huh? This country really is rotten to the core.”
“What’d you say, you little brat?”
Tinny let out a sigh, and the ranch owner bared his hostility, glaring at her. On his chest was a dragon-shaped badge that showed he was a member of the Valitra cult.
“That attitude toward my brother, who’s a high-ranking noble. Are you part of that ridiculous Valitra cult too? I’m ordering you right now. It’s unpleasant, so dissolve the cult immediately—”
“Ah, sorry! This horse is fine! Thank you very much!”
I quickly cut off Tinny’s words.
“Why, Myce? I can just transform into Valitra, make them offer the best horse, and burn that insolent organization called the Valitra cult to the ground for you?”
“No way! If you do that, it’ll cause a massive panic!?”
“Anyone who doesn’t understand how great you are deserves exactly that fate.”
Tinny puffed out her chest like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“What are you two babbling about? I’m on my way to a meeting to praise Guardian Dragon Valitra. Once you’re done, get lost already.”
The ranch owner said it arrogantly.
“Yes. Well then, goodbye!”
“Hah! You two troublemakers can go enjoy your little trip to the border together.”
I grabbed Tinny’s hand—she looked like she still had more to say—and quickly left the place. The old horse seemed to understand its owner had changed and followed after me. It was weak, but it looked like a smart one.
“…This is really unforgivable. Goblin King, use your forces and crush the Valitra cult completely.”
Tinny muttered under her breath, sounding completely fed up. Whew… I was really glad she didn’t snap and go on a rampage. In the worst case, the capital could’ve been destroyed.
“Traveling all the way to the border on this horse is going to be tough, don’t you think? Was it really okay, Myce?”
“That depends on this guy…”
I stroked the old horse while asking it seriously.
“Even if you were going to die today, do you want to run freely across the land one more time?”
A horse that could no longer run was destined to be put down eventually. As if it understood that, the horse quietly nodded.
“Got it. [Genesis Alchemy] activated. Existential evolution to rank SSS!”
I touched the old horse’s head and activated the alchemy. It was a technique that would transmute and evolve the target into a higher-dimensional being.
A golden glow poured out from the horse. Its dull brown coat turned pure white like fresh snow, and a horn grew from its forehead. The shaky old body transformed into a visibly strong and spirited one.
“This is… an SSS-rank legendary holy beast unicorn!?”
Hiiihiiin!
The horse let out a neigh full of joy. It seemed over the moon that it could run again.
“As expected of you, Myce. I can feel incredible magic power coming from this one. Even among my three million subordinates, none possess this much power.”
Tinny let out a voice of pure admiration. The unicorn rubbed against me gratefully and lowered its head.
“Looks like it worked out nicely. Body transmutation can fail sometimes, so…”
I let out a relieved breath. Lately it really felt like my skills were improving.
“Alright. Let’s ride this guy to the border territory of Beograd. Tinny, hop on behind me.”
“Yes. A two-person journey pressed close together with you, Myce—I’m incredibly happy.”
When Tinny got on the unicorn with me, she wrapped her arms around my waist and clung tight. We galloped down the highway on the unicorn’s back.
“Wh-what an amazing horse!?”
“Is that… could it be the holy beast unicorn!?”
“That makes the thoroughbred the king rides look like nothing!”
Everyone walking along the road turned to stare at us. It was better than riding on Valitra’s back, but we were still standing out a lot.
Still, the unicorn’s leg strength was on another level. It was easily running at more than three times the speed of a normal horse. Controlling it was going to be a bit tricky.
“Haaaaah!? A horse this magnificent exists in this world!?”
The ranch owner we’d just seen earlier on the highway widened his eyes and shouted.
“You… no! Lord Myce Windsor, please, I beg you, give that horse to me! I’ll pay any amount of money you want!”
“Huh!? Sorry, we’re heading to the border now, so no thanks!”
The guy had just sold the horse and now wanted to buy it back—what was he even saying? I answered right away because I wanted to find a camping spot before sunset.
“No way!? P-please wait!”
“After getting rid of him as a nuisance, now he’s acting so pathetic.”
Tinny said coldly to the ranch owner.
“Bugeeeeraaaaah!?”
The shockwave from the unicorn’s sudden acceleration sent the ranch owner flying, and he landed hard on his butt.
“Ah, sorry! Consider this compensation for the trouble!”
I hurriedly tossed a few gold coins at the ranch owner. This guy’s power was way too much. I’d have to be careful inside towns…
“I don’t need money! Please, give that holy beast unicorn to meeee! Great Lord Myce Windsor aaaah!”
I could hear some kind of desperate scream behind us, but by the time I noticed, we had already left the suburbs far behind.
