The Exiled Alchemist Unknowingly Becomes a Legend – Living Happily in the Frontier with My Yandere Little Sister (the Kingdom’s Guardian Dragon) - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Getting Completely Spoiled by the Strongest Yandere Little Sister on Earth
“Get out of here! You plague god!”
I was about to climb into a carriage to leave the royal capital when I froze in total shock. Suddenly, a bunch of furious people had surrounded me.
“Eh!? Wait a second…!”
They were wearing headbands that said [Valitra Church] and started hurling rotten eggs at me.
“Someone who disrespected Lady Valitra the Guardian Dragon doesn’t deserve a fancy carriage ride!”
“Die already, you bastard!”
“Th-these guys are from the Valitra Church!?”
They were a new religious group that worshipped Valitra as their guardian deity. My younger brother Alfred had founded it as their leader. Lately their activities had gotten pretty extreme, and I’d heard they attacked anyone they saw as Valitra’s enemy… but this was way beyond a joke!
They smashed the carriage to pieces with hammers and let the horses run free. The driver didn’t want to get caught up in it and bolted away in a panic.
“Ughyaah! Heavenly punishment!”
“Long live justice!”
Their excitement was at maximum as they started beating me with clubs. I curled up like a turtle and desperately tried to protect myself.
“W-wait! Calm down, please…!”
“Worship Lady Valitra as a god. Then everyone will be saved!”
One of the church’s higher-ups, with an ecstatic look on his face, egged the crowd on.
“Myce Windsor! I hear you had the nerve to claim in the royal palace that you created Lady Valitra! Such blasphemy! How dare you! That crime deserves a thousand deaths. Die and apologize for it!”
“Huh!?”
No good. They weren’t listening at all. At this point I had no choice but to fight back, so I reached for the sword at my waist—
Gwooooooooh!
A massive black dragon came flying in with a roar that split the air. Anyone who saw her overwhelming presence would feel it instantly: this was the strongest creature alive, making humans look like nothing but dust.
“Ooooh! It’s Lady Valitra the Guardian Dragon!”
The Valitra Church members looked up at the sky and cheered.
She had already arrived…!
“Look! We are carrying out heavenly punishment on your enemies right now!”
“Lady Valitra, please grant us your blessing!”
The church people shouted with fawning smiles. But the next moment, they were all frozen solid by the cold magic Valitra unleashed.
Crack!
I was completely fine. Valitra had controlled the magic so it wouldn’t affect me.
“Hyaaaaah! L-Lady Valitra, why would you do this to your loyal servants!?”
The only one who escaped being frozen, a church executive, fell to his knees and screamed. Valitra glared at him with blood-red eyes full of killing intent.
“Go back and tell your founder this: Myce is my lifesaver and the only one worthy of ruling over everything in this world as the [Supreme and Greatest Being]. Anyone who hurts Myce… I will personally drag them down to hell!”
“L-Lady Valitra spoke for the first time!? I-I’ll tell him! I’ll deliver the message to Founder Alfred!”
The executive ran off sobbing.
“…Brother, are you okay!?”
Valitra landed right in front of me and was wrapped in particles of light. Her body reshaped itself through magic until she became a completely naked girl wearing only a silver bracelet. My four years of research had finally paid off.
Valitra, my little sister Tinny, had drunk the [Humanization Elixir] I made the other day. It let her turn back into human form for twelve hours a day. Thanks to that, she could even speak human language in dragon form now. It was wonderful and moving, but…
“Wha!? Tinny, clothes!”
I yelled at the top of my lungs without thinking.
“Oh, right. Linking to the [Infinite Warehouse] and activating. Vapor deposition.”
Tinny waved her right hand and her body was instantly wrapped in a white dress. After spending four whole years as a dragon, it looked like she had lost some common sense about being human.
“The [Infinite Warehouse] automatic clothing system is working perfectly. As expected from the magic system Brother made.”
“Haah… Maybe I should add a function that detects when you change from dragon to human and dresses you automatically…”
“That would be really helpful in emergencies.”
Tinny smiled. No matter how you looked at her, she seemed like a fourteen-year-old human girl. A beautiful girl with silver hair that sparkled in the sunlight, giving off an almost fragile impression.
No one would ever dream that she was actually the Guardian Dragon Valitra.
I had given Tinny the SSS-rank item I developed called the [Infinite Warehouse]. It creates an endless pocket dimension for storing things and is shaped like a bracelet for easy carrying.
Over these four years of throwing myself into alchemy, I had figured something out. My skill [Genesis Alchemy] lets me create SSS-rank or higher items, but it always fails if I try to make anything SS-rank or below.
That’s why I couldn’t make an E-rank recovery potion, but I could make the SSS-rank [Infinite Warehouse] and [Humanization Elixir]. Turning Tinny into the Guardian Dragon Valitra was also thanks to this skill.
“Brother, here you go.”
A recovery potion appeared in Tinny’s right hand with a soft pop. It was something she had stored in the [Infinite Warehouse].
“Thanks, Tinny… By the way, you didn’t kill these people, right?”
Tinny is my twin sister. I didn’t want her doing anything like killing humans.
“Of course not. Even if I killed them a hundred million times, it still wouldn’t be enough to make up for hurting Brother… but if I killed them here, there’s a risk you’d be treated as a murderer. It’s frustrating, but I only put them in a frozen near-death state with cold magic.”
“Phew. Good. Then it should be fine…”
“Yes. I adjusted it so the ice will melt in about seventy-two hours and they’ll wake up.”
Tinny said it like it was nothing. Ever since I turned her into the Guardian Dragon Valitra, her personality seemed to be getting rougher… more dragon-like, and it worried me.
I really needed to take proper care of her and turn her back into a complete human as soon as possible. When Father and the others gave up on me, Tinny was the one who believed in my talent and encouraged me. So I would never abandon her either.
“I already know what happened because I was watching over you with [Clairvoyance] magic the whole time. There’s almost no doubt that the one who sent the [Valitra Church] was its founder, Alfred.”
[Clairvoyance] is magic that lets you see and hear things far away. Since becoming a dragon, Tinny could use almost every kind of magic except recovery types. She said the principles of magic just came to her naturally. It was amazing, but I really wished she would stop peeking into my private life…
“Eh!? Why would Alfred do something like that?”
“Geez, Brother, you’re so dense about anything that isn’t alchemy.”
“Ugh…!”
Being called dense was something I had heard a lot since I was little.
“It’s frustrating, but Princess Lucy likes you, Brother. In short, it’s ugly jealousy.”
Tinny frowned.
“…Honestly, the current prosperity of the kingdom is all thanks to you. If you’ll allow it, I can wipe the Windsor ducal house and the royal palace off the face of the earth right now without leaving a trace. How about it?”
“No way, obviously!?”
Just as I thought, Tinny was angry at the king and Father. This might be a bit dangerous…
“A-anyway, I’m heading to the remote border territory of Beograd now as its lord. If possible, could you go back to the capital sometimes and protect the kingdom for me?”
If I didn’t ask her to, the monsters under Tinny’s command would probably start attacking the kingdom. They only stayed quiet because Tinny was keeping them in check.
“Even if it’s your request, Brother, I can’t do that. What I was protecting as the Guardian Dragon Valitra wasn’t the kingdom—it was you. The moment they exiled you, my precious Brother, to a dangerous border region full of plague, the kingdom became my enemy.”
Tinny’s eyes burned with anger.
“I’m coming with you to Beograd, Brother. From now on, we’ll always be together.”
With that, Tinny threw her arms around me. The soft feeling and the sweet, flower-like scent that only a girl has tickled my nose.
I was happy that I could live with Tinny again now that she had returned to human form, but…
It looked like the collapse of the kingdom was only a matter of time.
