The Carnivorous Maidens Living with Me - Chapter 18 & 19
Chapter 18: The Kisaragi Family Dinner Table [Sofia’s Papa POV]
I had noticed that my daughter wasn’t fitting in at school.
It was probably around the time she entered middle school that her energy started to fade.
Even so, she put on a brave face in front of the family.
But one evening, I saw her crying in front of my wife.
She was being bullied because of her appearance and looks.
After that, I reached out to the school and the board of education, but they didn’t take me seriously.
One day, as she was preparing to enter high school, my wife and I were worried about her future and considered moving.
There was a small hope… maybe.
The place where my wife and I met, where our mentor helped us.
We thought that if she went there, something might change for her.
But reality wasn’t so kind.
I heard that even after starting high school, things didn’t change much.
But one day in April, she came home smiling, holding a cake.
She talked happily, just like she used to.
By the time she became a second-year, she said the gossip about her had increased.
I asked her, “If it’s too hard, should we leave Japan?”
She shook her head.
When I asked why, she said she’d gotten into the same class as the boy who gave her the cake.
She didn’t want to miss this chance.
But considering her mental state, I didn’t think she could hold out much longer.
That’s when my wife gave her some shocking advice.
Go get him, even if you have to force it.
If you can’t make him notice you, use your body!
If you create a done deal, he won’t be able to escape.
Even if it starts with a physical relationship, his heart will follow eventually.
When my daughter heard this from my wife, she was stunned at first, her mouth agape.
But then, as if she’d made up her mind, she started asking my wife for all sorts of advice.
After my daughter went to bed, I listened to my wife over drinks, giving a wry smile.
I remembered how intense my wife was back in the day, relentlessly pursuing me.
That aside, some time later…
When my daughter told me she got a boyfriend, I thought she was joking.
I didn’t think anyone would accept her after such an approach.
But seeing her shy smile, I felt a mix of complicated emotions toward the boy who accepted her, even if it was just physical.
A few days later, I think it was.
“Welcome home, Papa!”
When I got home, my wife and daughter were cheerfully standing in the kitchen.
The dining table was filled with a feast so lavish it felt like a party.
What were we celebrating today?
Over dinner, my daughter excitedly told us about what happened that day.
As she spoke, my wife and I felt tears welling up.
There was someone who sacrificed himself for my daughter.
There was someone who stood up to teachers for her.
There was someone who rallied others to uncover the source of the rumors.
For her sake…
My daughter, with a tearful smile, told us that boy planned and carried it all out.
As parents, we had to know what kind of guy our daughter was dating!
She showed us his name and a two-shot photo they took that day.
“His name’s Shoma Kamizuki! Look, look at him!”
“…Kamizuki.”
“…Shoma.”
Seeing his face and name on the screen, my wife and I froze.
“Papa? Mama? What’s wrong?”
“Oh, nothing. He looks like a kind boy.”
“Nishishi! Yeah, he’s super kind!”
My daughter’s smile was somehow full of satisfaction.
After dinner, as I relaxed on the sofa, my wife sat beside me.
“Hey, honey… is this just a coincidence?”
“Who knows. But one thing’s for sure… we’ve been saved by our teacher again.”
“You’re right. I’m so glad we came back to this town.”
“Me too.”
Saying that, we flipped through the pages of the album from our youth together.
“Miss Shikine, you… no, you all are our heroes.”
As I held my wife’s shoulder, a warm feeling welled up deep in my chest.
Chapter 19: After the Uproar, the Royal Guard, and Then the Ropes [Sofia Kisaragi, Shoma Kamizuki]
[Sofia Kisaragi]
A day has passed since yesterday’s uproar.
Today, I was staring at Shoma beside me, my face full of confusion.
“Uh… Shoma, what’s going on here?”
“Hmm, looks like the plan was a huge success! Ha… hahaha!”
He said that, but his face was twitching a bit.
We walked to school together as usual, changed shoes at the lockers, and were heading to the classroom when we ran into it.
Our school is huge, a mammoth campus with wide buildings and plenty of space.
But the hallway was packed with a crowd that filled it completely.
“Sofia-sama, please step on me~!”
“Buhehe, for me, the candle wax…”
“I’d take the whip…”
Voices like that reached my ears.
On their foreheads, I could see words like Sofia-sama’s Stomping Squad.
From another direction, I heard:
“Kyaa, Sofia-sama! Please teach me that whip technique~!”
“How do I train my boyfriend so he won’t run away?”
“I’m bad with words, so please give me your verbal attack lessons!”
Words like those came through.
On their arms, I saw armbands reading Sofia-sama’s Guidance Seekers.
He whispered to me.
“Well, after yesterday’s video, I figured there might be some kindred spirits out there… but not this many, haha.”
So this was the side effect—or the “not all bad” part—he mentioned before.
I was half-stunned, half-happy.
“Come on, Sofia, it’s your time to shine! Let out all that stress you’ve been holding in.”
He gave my back a push.
I realized a new life was starting here, so I turned to the crowd and declared:
“Attention! Listen up, all of you—here’s what I…”
That day, a queen was born in the school.
For the rest of the day, during breaks between classes and lunch, the royal guard bombarded me with questions.
Thanks to the thick wall of girls, I managed to escape the boys’ grabby hands, which was a relief.
And then, after school.
“I’ve got cooking club today, Sofi. Wanna come?”
“The cooking club? That’s where that junior is, right?”
“Yeah, Hazuki. You met her briefly yesterday, yeah? Her and… the president too.”
“The president’s in it too?”
“Yeah, she’s busy, so she doesn’t show up much.”
Apparently, the cooking club has three members.
“So, if you joined, Sofi, it’d make things easier for the club…”
“Nah, I think I’ll pass for now… haha.”
“?”
I want to spend after-school time with him, but I’ll hold off and see how things go.
“Well, think it over at your own pace!”
“…Yeah… I’ll think about it.”
With that, the girls from the Guidance Seekers half-dragged me away.
…
……
………
[Shoma Kamizuki]
After parting with Sofia, I arrived at the cooking club’s room—the prep kitchen—and opened the door.
Bachin!
I thought I heard a sound like that, then my vision went dark, and I lost consciousness.
In my fading awareness, the last words I heard were…
“G-Got him…”
I thought I caught a small voice saying that.
When I came to, I was sitting somewhere.
No, I was made to sit.
Tied up with ropes, no less.
From the side, a small voice spoke.
“Um, um, Senpai! I forgot to ask yesterday, but… is it true you got a girlfriend?”
The girl talking, all fidgety, was my cooking club junior, Hazuki Shirasaki.
Her eyes, slightly hidden by bangs, were big and round, and her black hair reached her shoulders, giving off a Japanese doll vibe.
She’s petite, but her curves are… well, let’s just say they’re more than noticeable.
She seems timid at first glance.
I spoke as calmly as I could.
“Hazuki-san, could you maybe untie these ropes…”
“But, but… if I do that, you’ll just run away, won’t you, Senpai? And besides…”
“And besides?”
I was starting to sweat a little.
I really didn’t want to hear what came next.
“And besides… I won’t get to eat you, Senpai!”
As she declared that, her hands held a familiar whip and… something for nighttime fun.
“Oh, God! Why are all the women around me such carnivores?”
My words vanished into the void.
