The adorable Villainess is mine - Chapter 2- Identity
For the past two hours, all Kai had done was to confirm his identity and keep an eye on the redhead.
He was in the game.
Star Child: Eclipse.
It was a reverse harem game centered around the female lead named Lia.
Kai used to play any game regardless of their genre. All that mattered was graphics and story. And both of them were good in this one.
He had played this game multiple times; the first attempt was out of sheer curiosity and excitement. But the rest of the time? Just to save a single character.
And that character was currently lying down on the bed before him.
Grace.
She was that one character who gets falsely accused, then mistreated, and once she loses all hope, she turns to the dark side. And naturally, she meets her end at the hands of the Protagonist.
Grace is a kind of character with whom many could sympathize.
However, as if the creators had a personal grudge against her, she dies in every single route.
And the reason behind her constant misery is one person.
Kai.
No, not him actually. But the person he had become.
Carter Art Williams.
The first Prince of the nation. And the former fiancée of Grace.
He torments her. He badmouthed her in front of a whole crowd and even broke his engagement with her, making her nothing but a joke even back at her home.
Because of Grace’s cold attitude, many people hated her, and when the only guy who should have stood by her side and protected her until the end turned against her, she broke down.
She felt helpless.
She cried, yearned for him. Even begged once to not break the engagement. But this stupid Prince was too deep in hatred to listen to her.
And now, Kai had become the same character whom he hated the most.
‘What a shitty time I woke up in this world.’ Grace has already gone through so much that now when he looks at her, he feels his heart turning heavy with emotions.
She once used to be a refined lady who liked to curl her hair, wear beautiful dresses…and now…all he could see was a helpless girl, no longer wanting to live.
“She will be fine.” The nurse told him as she arrived by their side and checked on Grace.
“How is her stomach injury?” Kai asked.
“Oh…that will take some time to heal.” She informed, before frowning, “But it’s quite an old wound reopened.”
Kai scoffed at himself. Of course, it’s an old wound she received while protecting him.
And the great part? It was Carter who told Lia about the wound so she could get an opening against an opponent who was clearly stronger than her.
He was so…so pathetic that it disgusted him.
“Is there any long-term danger?” Kai asked and got a shake of the nurse’s head,
“Not that I can diagnose but she has to be careful. Another injury like this and she might lose her ability to eat complex food.”
Kai gritted his teeth and told her firmly, “I will make sure she doesn’t get injured again.”
It was not a promise to the nurse but to himself.
He didn’t know how he landed in this world. He didn’t know if he was going to stay here or the next day, he would wake up in his old body.
But until he was by her side, he would make sure she didn’t need to shed another tear.
And that’s an oath.
….
[Third Person POV:]
“What the…?” Called out a grey-haired teenager upon seeing Carter in the infirmary.
The silver-haired prince frowned before putting his finger against his lips to shush the boy.
The grey-haired boy frowned at the gesture before he wordlessly stepped out of the infirmary.
He was actually Carter’s friend and also a rival in love.
The reason for his shock was both Carter’s previous action against Lia and the fact that he had never checked on her, yet was paying close attention to Grace.
‘What happened to him so suddenly?’ This came out of nowhere.
“What happened?” A voice called out from behind.
The boy wasn’t expecting her to be here as he asked, “Lia…shouldn’t you be resting now?”
Standing there was a black-haired beauty with oceanic blue eyes, and her lithe form was currently hugged in a one-piece skirt.
“Karl…what happened at the infirmary?” She could see the lines of concern on his forehead.
Karl sighed and told her, “I saw Carter earlier. He was with Grace. Taking care of her.”
Lia’s brows drew closer, “…with Grace? What suddenly happened to him?”
Little did they know that it was just the beginning.

A/N:- Thanks for reading.

Ooooooh!!! This is a FIRST!!! I’ve never read a story where the MC possesses the character of the ex-fiance of the villainess (aka the prince)! This is starting to get interesting! Though I do feel sympathetic that Kai has to be in the body of the very person he hated more in the entire world.
next chapter please 😭
