Chapter 54: The Abandoned Prince Defeats the Succubi
Let’s rewind the clock a bit.
At the time, I was living each day as food for the succubi.
And honestly… it was terrifying.
They all looked at me—not as a man, but as food.
Even worse was how my traitorous sword down below still reacted despite the fear. I hated it.
But then, something unexpected happened one day.
“Hey, hey? You’re… kinda amazing, aren’t you?”
“Huh?”
A succubus spoke to me through the bars of the underground cell I was locked in, beneath the ruins of a castle in the former Demon Lord’s territory.
She was a young-looking girl with pink hair and bright blue eyes.
She wore the same revealing outfit typical of succubi, but… her gaze felt different.
She wasn’t looking at me like food. She was looking at me like an actual person.
“Uh, and you are…?”
“I’m Saki! I may look like this, but I’m the Queen of the Succubi!”
“…The queen?”
“Yep!! I’m the most important succubus of them all!”
She was cute, but… I didn’t feel any kind of overwhelming presence like with Alcarion.
Even Michaela, the lamia queen who got knocked out by Ailynn’s drinking game, still had more dignity than this.
“So, what does the succubus queen want with me?”
“I heard there’s this amazing guy who doesn’t die no matter how much we drain him! So I came to meet you! Guys like that become the queen’s mate—her personal food! Today’s just our first meeting~!”
“Aah… so that’s what being a mate means to a succubus, huh…”
While I was still struggling to wrap my head around the situation, Saki unlocked the cell and casually walked in.
“Hey, wanna make a deal with me?”
“A deal?”
“Yep! You see, I am the Queen of the Succubi, but… no one really listens to me.”
“Huh?”
As she explained, I learned that Saki had inherited the position of Queen from her mother, the previous Succubus Queen.
In other words, she was more of a “name-only” ruler.
Because of that, very few succubi actually followed her orders.
Apparently, even the whole male dark elf kidnapping incident was caused by a group of hungry succubi acting on their own, completely ignoring Saki’s authority.
“So, I want you to help me prove myself to everyone and be recognized as their true queen. If you agree to help me, I’ll set you free.”
“…And what exactly do I have to do?”
I mean, this was my chance to finally walk out of here.
No way I was going to pass that up. I nodded at her proposal.
“It’s simple. I’ll let you out right now—then you go and seduce every succubus you see and make them lose in bed!”
“Seduce… Wait—what? Why!?”
“You probably don’t know this, but to succubi, men are just food. So if one of us loses to our ‘food,’ it’s basically proof that we’re beneath it.”
“Hmm… I see. So if I beat them all, and then let you beat me on purpose… everyone will recognize you as the superior one?”
“Exactly!!”
So basically… she wanted me to help stage a rigged victory.
Not that I had any real objections—this plan didn’t sound all that bad for me.
Still, there was one problem.
“I’m not sure I can even hold my own against succubi.”
Succubi are insanely strong in bed. Every single one of them.
Their hunger basically is their lust, and they act on it constantly.
Most of them drop by at least three times a day to drain me.
And that’s just the standard. Some treat me like a snack or dessert and show up ten times a day.
No joke—I’m basically getting drained 24/7.
There’s no way I can take them all on by myself.
“Not to worry!! I’ve prepared a special incense for that!!”
“Incense?”
“Haven’t you ever wondered? Succubi usually treat men as food, right? So when exactly do we mate with men to reproduce?”
…Now that she mentioned it—I had no idea.
Lately I’d been so focused on not dying from getting drained that I never stopped to think about it.
It was definitely a weird situation.
“The answer is this incense!! When a succubus inhales it, her instincts shift from feeding to reproducing! It overrides the urge to eat!”
“Huh… I think I get it?”
“And by the way—this incense also works on men! It’s a super-powerful aphrodisiac that turns you into a total beast! You’ll be able to take on succubi without losing!”
Whoa, that sounds amazing.
With that incense—and considering how fast my “loyal sword” tends to recover—I might actually stand a chance against the succubi.
After everything they put me through, I was more than ready to return the favor.
So I watched quietly as Saki lit the incense…
But just before leaving, she casually added:
“Oh, by the way! This incense really weakens your sense of control, so be careful, okay?”
“Wait—what!? Hey!!”
And just like that, she walked out of the underground cell, leaving me behind.
Not long after, a group of succubi showed up.
The moment they caught the scent of the incense, their expressions changed.
They weren’t looking at me like food anymore.
They were looking at me like a man.
The effect was instant and overwhelming.
Every single succubus that came at me—
I took them down without even breaking a sweat.
And then, Saki finally returned.
“Fufuun!! So you’re the one who messed up all my subordinates, huh!? In their place, I, the Queen—will punish you—!”
“Rah!! Rah!!“
“…H-Huh? Wait—is the incense too effective? Hold on—calm down, wait a se—!”
With all sense of reason gone, I accidentally overwhelmed Saki too.
Even I had to admit… I may have gone a little too far.
“Lord Reyshel~♡”
“You’re still going strong after handling all of us…♡”
“So dreamy♡”
By the time I came back to my senses, all the succubi—including Saki—had collapsed in exhaustion, kneeling before me.
They looked up at me like I was some kind of god.
Honestly… the overwhelming sense of power and superiority I felt was addictive.
I could seriously get used to that.
And then, about a month later… Ailynn finally showed up to pick me up.
What really annoyed me—no, infuriated me—was…
“Yaaay!! Your big sis talked it out with the dark elves and the arachne, so we’re all good now~! Let’s hurry up and build a ship so we can go hoooome~!!”
Somehow, despite being drunk as ever, she’d calmed down the angry dark elves… and dragged the totally unrelated arachne into the negotiations too.
Dark elf craftsmanship and arachne manpower—
With both, building a ship would be way easier.
At this point, I started wondering…
Maybe if you get Ailynn to work without alcohol, she’s secretly a genius?
No—scratch that.
She didn’t even sober up this time and still managed all this…
Maybe the truth is, Ailynn’s actually incredibly competent…
She’s just lazy.

Author: “This chapter was basically just about Ailynn being unexpectedly competent.”
