Chapter 50: The Abandoned Prince Gets a Warm Welcome
“Ailynn, what are you doing here?”
I thought I’d just arrived at the lamia village… and suddenly, Ailynn was there.
Still reeking of alcohol, as usual.
With a tipsy grin, she answered my question in that annoying drunk-girl tone she always had.
“Who knooows~? You wanna know? Wanna hear why your big sis is here? Aww, fine—I’ll tell you. Oh wait, never mind~ It’s a secret~”
Yeah, she clearly had no intention of giving me a straight answer.
She was totally messing with me.
Well, two can play that game.
Without saying a word, I stepped up to Ailynn and activated Perfect Regeneration—targeting the alcohol in her body and cleansing it right out of her system.
Just like that, the stench of booze vanished.
Her smug grin disappeared too.
Ailynn suddenly went quiet.
She stopped sitting cross-legged and quickly turned to face me properly, dropping into a polite kneel.
“U-Um… Sorry about that.”
The first thing out of her mouth was a sheepish apology.
The lamia queen—or rather, the woman Ailynn had called Michaela—watched this happen with wide eyes, clearly shocked.
Was this the first time they’d ever seen Ailynn sober?
“So… why are you really here?”
“Um, well… that is…”
Now sober, Ailynn started speaking politely, her eyes fixed slightly downward, avoiding mine.
And as I listened… I felt a bit disappointed.
Turns out, she wasn’t here looking for me.
Well, yeah—makes sense, time-wise.
It hadn’t even been a few hours since I got teleported to this continent.
No way she could’ve tracked me down and made it here that fast.
So then… why was Ailynn here?
“So, you racked up a bunch of debt chasing rare booze from all over the world, tried to skip out on paying it back, caused a scene, drank yourself into oblivion when someone offered you more alcohol, and got captured?”
“…Yes. Then, to pay off the debt, they stuck me on a giant tuna fishing ship. But it got attacked by a Leviathan and sank…”
And that’s how she ended up drifting ashore on this continent.
I mean… I can’t really sympathize, given how it all started.
Still, sounds like she went through a lot.
Not that I pity her. She brought it on herself.
Anyway, I decided to set that aside for now and told her what had happened on my end.
Ailynn stayed quiet and listened to me the whole time.
“So… you don’t happen to know any way to get off this continent, do you?”
“Ah, no. I mean, if it were just me, I could probably manage something. But with three people… not really. Still, based on what you told me, wouldn’t it be better to just wait? I’m sure Mom will come get you soon.”
“Yeah… about that, it’s not that simple.”
“…?”
I explained the situation with Hek.
As long as she was nearby, Alcarion wouldn’t be able to detect me.
When I told Ailynn that, she let out a thoughtful hum.
“Then maybe we should just get rid of this Hek girl…”
“Yeah, I don’t think I can do that. For some reason, I just can’t leave her behind.”
“…Actually, maybe keeping her with you is the better choice?”
“Huh? What makes you say that?”
“N-No reason. I mean, it’s just a guess.”
Ailynn seemed to pick up on something—something that didn’t quite add up.
“You said that Hek getting caught in the teleport was just an accident, right? Which means, technically, she wasn’t supposed to be here. But if it were just you alone, Mom could’ve found you instantly… Ah—wait, maybe that was the plan.”
“…? Sorry, you lost me.”
“In other words… how do I explain this… Maybe the mastermind behind the rebellion didn’t actually want to kill you by dumping you on this continent. Maybe the real goal was to temporarily pull Mom away from the imperial capital.”
When Ailynn said that, I suddenly froze.
W-Wait a second…
So the plan was to take down the imperial capital while Alcarion—the Empire’s strongest force—was away?
That… actually made a lot of sense.
But then something else hit me.
“Wait… if Alcarion can’t detect where I am right now, doesn’t that mean—”
“Yup. The mastermind’s plan totally failed.”
…Seriously?
The fact that a bunch of coincidences stacked up like this is kind of terrifying.
Actually, what’s even scarier is…
“You’re kinda brilliant when you’re not drunk, huh, Ailynn?”
“Ugh… S-Sorry about that.”
“No, I’m complimenting you.”
Turns out, when Ailynn is sober, she’s surprisingly sharp and dependable.
When she’s drunk, she does things like push me off wyverns—so I can never let my guard down around her.
But in this state… I don’t know why, but she feels reliable.
Maybe it’s because the oldest daughter, Violetta, is so unpredictable that Ailynn, as the second daughter, had to learn to be the responsible one.
“Um, Lady Ailynn. May I speak now?”
“Ah—”
Both of us turned at the same time.
It was the lamia queen, Michaela, who politely stepped into the conversation, looking slightly apologetic.
“From what I’ve heard… that young man is an acquaintance of yours, correct?”
“Acquaintance? Hmm… more like my brother-in-law.”
“And also… my stepfather.”
“…Huh? brother-in-law and stepfather?”
Michaela tilted her head in confusion.
Well, I mean… considering I’m married to both Alcarion and Rosemary, calling me Ailynn’s stepfather isn’t exactly wrong.
If I ended up marrying Violetta too, she’d be my sister-in-law and wife at the same time.
This family’s going to get ridiculously complicated.
“Uhh, yeah, let’s just go with… something like that.”
Ailynn gave up on trying to explain and waved it off.
Then, as if she couldn’t take the awkward atmosphere anymore, she silently reached over, grabbed a nearby barrel of alcohol with one hand, and started chugging straight from it.
“Glug, gulp—pahh! Yep, I really can’t talk properly unless I’ve had a drink~”
Honestly, she’s way more reliable when she’s sober… but if this is how she copes, I’m not gonna stop her.
I turned back toward Michaela and gave her a polite nod.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Reyshel.”
“I-I am Michaela, Queen Lamia of this village. And… Lord Reyshel, if you’re Lady Ailynn’s stepfather, then… your wife must be…?”
“Ah, yeah. One of my wives is Alcarion. I have a few others too, but she’s the one you’re probably thinking of.”
The moment Michaela heard Alcarion’s name, she straightened up and gave me a deep, respectful bow.
“I-I had no idea… You’re the mate of the true dragon…! Please forgive us if anyone in the village treated you disrespectfully!”
“Oh, no, it’s totally fine. More importantly, uh…”
I swallowed hard and glanced over at Michaela’s body.
Now that I was getting a proper look… wow.
Her upper half was that of a stunning beauty—large chest, slim waist, everything in perfect proportion.
And her lower half? A long, elegant snake tail that looked to be over ten meters long.
I couldn’t help but wonder what it’d feel like to hold her…
“Earlier, some of the lamia girls told me that since only females are born in your species, you capture males from other races to make children…”
“T-Those girls… I apologize! W-We had no intention of showing such disrespect to the mate of the true dragon—”
“Actually, would it be alright if I helped out?”
“…Pardon? What did you just say?”
“I’m saying—how about I help out instead?”
Michaela’s eyes went wide at my suggestion.
I found out later from Ailynn that to the lamia, Alcarion was practically worshipped like a goddess.
And now, I—a man who shares a bond with that goddess—was offering to give them my seed.
Michaela looked overwhelmed… but honestly, she also looked kind of thrilled.
And that’s how it all began—my official welcome feast.
The whole village joined in—from the youngest girls to the most mature beauties, and they were all absurdly attractive.
Every single one of them openly flirted with me, trying to win me over.
There was no way I could resist.
One after another, I was pinned down by soft skin and powerful snake tails… and completely drained dry.
Lamia are amazing.
…And needless to say, I couldn’t help but play a little naughty prank on Ailynn while she was passed out drunk.
