25 Minutes Round Trip

The air feels cold, but the sun is still shining brightly as I hurriedly walk my way home.

I can’t wait to go home and play some games.

I chuckled at myself because of my own boyish urge to play some games. But it can’t be helped. After several years of waiting, my favourite game series finally release a sequel, I’m so excited that everything else doesn’t matter anymore. Of course I know it’s the second semester of my second year of high school, I can’t just play games all day long, so I set a timer to discipline myself.

What in the world will become of their story? How will their story continue? My heart is racing just from thinking about it. My legs naturally walk faster as I head home impatient to play the game.

As I turn around the corner, I see a male student walking back to school around one hundred meters ahead of me. The uncomfortable feeling made my legs to stop walking. I quickly ignored him and continue to walk my way back home. It’s not strange for some students to go to school again after returning back home. Maybe he had forgotten something, or maybe he actually has a club activity which he thought is off.

But the look on his eyes doesn’t look like that’s the case. To put it in words, it’s as if he is desperate to find some help. Although he has a beautiful face. No, it would be too meddlesome to think about it any further, and there is nothing I can do after all. Let’s forget about it, go home, and play some games.

“Excuse me.”

As I was about to walk pass him, he called out to me. There is no one else around so I guess he is talking to me.

“Yes, what is it?”

“Do you know, Nao Kisaragi?”

He is such a pinpoint searcher. Perhaps he knew me and asked me?

“Ahh.”

No way.

“Don’t tell me you don’t know Nao Kisaragi. Usami Hokuto.”

“Wow.”

I’ve never sensed a hostility this blatant before, I was so surprised that I let out a ‘wow’ sound as if I was mocking him. It seems that he is also having an unexpected reaction, he looks stunned. But shortly after, he turns his stern gaze towards me. He is someone I shouldn’t get involved with. Let’s sort this out so that I can get out of here quickly.

“Ki… Kisaragi is still at school.”

“Are you trying to show off how close you and Kisaragi-san are by calling her name like that!?”

“Can you speak without interrupting every word people say!?”

The boy who is about to grab me took one deep breath between his words as if he is having second thoughts.

“I’m sorry. I got a little nervous to meet Kisaragi.”

“Ha…”

“So, Kisaragi-san is still at school?”

“Maybe.”

“I knew it, it was right to come here with this uniform.”

“With this uniform?”

“Yeah. I finally found a way to inhibit her ability. I can confidently stand in front of Kisaragi-san now.”

His face is calm and smiling, it’s totally different from a moment ago. …could he be, Kisaragi’s prince?
