Scum-lesse Oblige, I Have Been Reincarnated as a Scum Villain in an 18+ Game World, and I Absolutely Want to Grasp the Mob Life with the Power of My Knowledge of the Original Story - Chapter 14
Starting Event
“Ultos-sama!”
One day, out of the blue, Riera rushes into my room.
“Your father and mother are returning.”
“Ah, they’re returning already?”
I answer while reading a magic book at my desk.
By the way, I forgot to mention that Scumtos’ parents are very nice people.
Since there are quite a lot of monster attacks lately, they have been travelling around the Randall territory and the Graciela Kingdom to observe the situation.
Well, partly because Scumtos is always left alone, he started saying ridiculous scummy things such as he can’t walk around the mansion without a cute maid holding his hand…
“So, for the first time in a while, Ultos-sama, you have received a letter asking if you would like to go to a nearby town with your family!”
“Hmm…”
That’s unusual.
Of course, Scumtos who can’t walk around the mansion without a cute maid holding his hand, almost never leaves this mansion.
For the sake of my peaceful mob life, I don’t want to do anything that will make me stand out too much.
So I’ve never tried to go out of the mansion myself.
“So, where are we going?”
“We’re going to Lyon.”
“—Lyon?”
Someone please praise me for not panicking!
“A-Ahh…is that so.”
Then, I ask Riera some questions about it.
“Lyon, huh? It’s a town, right? Are there any villages nearby?”
“Yeah, I think there are some villages near Lyon.”
“What are Father and Mother planning to do in Lyon?”
“They mentioned something about having a meal and introducing you to some of the most important people in Lyon.”
“I see.”
I answer shortly.
I calm myself down.
Lyon.
A town that any ‘Last Aca’ player would have heard at least once.
It’s the starting town of the game.
About then years ago before the start of the story, an incident occurred in that town.
As a result of that incident, the protagonist, Seig, decides to enrol to the academy.
And on top of that, after that incident, for some reason, Scumtos’ despicable behaviour becomes even worse.
Scumtos is going to Lyon with both of his parents.
I’m sure this has something to do with that incident.
…this is not good.
Yeah, this is very bad.
I close my book and look at Riera’s face.
“…Riera.”
“What is it, Ultos-sama?”
Riela must have sensed a change in my atmosphere, as she straightened her posture and looks at me seriously.
“Call Enrique for me. I need his assistance.”
“Of course.”
“Also, make sure that no one is around when you call Enrique here.”
“Understood.”
I then turn to the kneeling Riera and say,
“Please.”
Indicating my request.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Young lord, are you sure about this…?”
“Yeah, of course.”
Enrique, who has been summoned to my room, immediately buries his head in his hands upon hearing my words.
In short, I told Enrique everything related to the incident.
As expected, upon hearing the shocking truth, Enrique’s face contorted in disbelief.
“First of all, I have a question.”
Enrique told me so.
“If we assume that what young lord said is true, why aren’t you seeking assistance from those around you?”
Enrique raises his head and asks so.
What’s with that gaze?
He is just a former F-rank adventurer, isn’t he?
Indeed, if I were to explain about the incident to my parents or someone else, the matter might can be resolved more easily.
However, there is a reason why I can’t do that.
“Do you think they would believe me if I tell them so? Besides, the more people know about it, the more troublesome it will become.”
When Enrique thinks about it again, he agrees.
“It would be indeed dangerous if many people know about it…”
The truth is, I don’t want to tell others about is simply because I don’t to make a fuss about it.
—I just want to be a mob character that lives peacefully along with the other background characters.
I don’t want to get involved too much in the storyline.
My goal is to remain completely inconspicuous in the storyline and blend in as an ordinary aristocrat who is just an acquaintance of the protagonist.
Since I was a little kid, I never once wanted to stand out.
“But honestly, it’s quite a gamble.”
Enrique said so with a frown on his face.
To my surprise, he is a guy with common sense, and I think he is genuinely concerned about me.
“Young lord, why are you doing something like this? Why would you want to cross such dangerous bridge…?”
“Why am I doing something like this, you say?”
I can’t help but to let out a smile.
Then I look back at Enrique with determination in my eyes.
“It’s obvious, isn’t it?”
I answered.
“—because that’s my duty.”
I might be acting all tough in front of Enrique, but it’s pretty much how I truly feel.
“It’s your duty…you say?”
Enrique gasped.
This is irrelevant, but this guy is quite skilled in acting.
Maybe he is better suited for being an actor than an adventurer?
Then, I continue to talk,
“Yeah, I’ll do what needs to be done.”
I say so with strong determination in my eyes.
After all, if I don’t do something about this incident, I’ll eventually end up in a miserable situation…I won’t be able to avoid my tragic death.
“That’s…!”
Enrique said so with a surprised expression on his face.
He widened his eyes in surprise.
His reaction is so convincing.
This is really not important, but I can’t help but to think that this guy should really consider a career in acting.
