Rising from the Slum City of Reincarnation in Another World ~ Gathering, Hunting, and Living a Slow Life by Eating
Chapter 136 Eleanor-sama and Monster Meat Hunting
Strolling alongside Lady Eleanor and her three escorting female knights, leading the formation is none other than Silriette and her team, serving as the chief of the knightly order.
“Now then, shall we head for the hunt?”
“Yes, indeed.”
Lady Eleanor’s spirited voice resonates.
Leaving the gates of the fortified city behind, we venture beyond.
Beyond this point, we veer off the main road and step into the Exis Forest.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been in a forest.”
“Yeah, true. We’ve been to the capital city recently, so it feels like ages.”
“Yeah, Ed-chan.”
“That’s right.”
“Meow…”
The spring forest is pleasantly mild, devoid of excessive chill.
Fresh buds emerge, painting the landscape with a beautiful shade of yellow-green.
Amongst them, various flowers bloom, including whites, yellows, and reds.
“I’ve actually had snails before. They’re quite chewy.”
“Yes, they are.”
Indeed, that’s the sensation. The taste is reminiscent of clams, while the texture is similar to the muscular texture of abalone or whelk.
Although there are internal parts, they’re discarded. The main part consumed is the foot, or the section that touches the ground.
Growl!
“Whoa!”
“Eek!”
Lady Eleanor exclaims in surprise, causing the enemies to momentarily startle too. It’s a wolf.
Though its meat is tough and not particularly delicious when simply grilled, pounding and blending it into a hamburger mixture makes it quite tasty.
“Here we go!”
I attack a nearby wolf with my sword, managing to land a lucky fatal blow, causing the wolf to collapse.
Since wolves operate in packs, there are three more remaining.
“Fire!!”
Without hesitation, Lania swiftly adds her attack using a short incantation for a fire spell.
“Hyah!”
Minya also swings her staff, striking another individual.
“I’ve got my Eleanor Beam too!”
A beam shoots from Lady Eleanor’s conspicuously luxurious magical staff, hitting the last remaining one. It’s probably a light magic. It seems different from the sacred magic Minya uses. It turns out Lady Eleanor can also attack normally. In retrospect, it’s obvious since she carries a staff.
While it’s a theoretical principle to confirm things beforehand, I didn’t check because the knight escorts were present, and I thought everything would be fine. I had also been holding back too much.
The wolf that Minya engaged with still had some life left and tried to attack again, but Silriette and her companions delivered blows with their swords to finish it off.
“Phew, is it over now?”
We all take a moment to quietly observe our surroundings.
“All right, the extermination is complete. Originally, we were supposed to target a bear or a wild boar, but the result turned out fine.”
“Yeah, it’s done!”
“Yes, well done.”
“Finished, myaow.”
“Everyone, well done.”
Now, let’s toss everything into the item box and head back.
We check our direction and swiftly return to Eldania through the forest, taking the shortest route possible.
Upon entering Eldania Castle, we make our way to the Adventurer’s Guild and request the staff in charge of disassembling to handle the wolf.
“Could you please dismantle the wolf for us?”
“Sure thing!”
The staff member is an upbeat guy who quickly checks the condition of the wolf and immediately begins the disassembly process.
While we could handle this task ourselves to some extent, we’re still inexperienced, so it’s better to entrust it to a specialist.
And thus, we receive the meat.
“Now that we’ve got wolf meat, shall we get started right away?”
“Yes, let’s do it!”
“Hamburgers, right?”
“Of course, nyaa.”
“We’re looking forward to it.”
Under the watchful eyes of Lady Eleanor and the female knight, we find a corner in the kitchen of the Lord’s Manor Hotel to mince the wolf meat.
In Earth, there might be meat grinders available, but in this medieval-style fantasy world, such machinery is nonexistent.
We diligently pound the meat with knives.
Still, this is better than using a blender or mixer, and we managed to successfully create minced meat.
We mix in the leftover bear, wild boar, and rabbit meat from before to create a blend. Adding onions and such, we knead the mixture into hamburger patties, ready to be cooked.
“Cooking time!”
“Nyaa!”
“Here we go!”
“Myaauu!”
Amidst everyone’s watchful eyes, we proceed to cook the hamburgers. The enticing aroma already fills the air, leaving the hungry fairy in a rather pitiful state as it waits.
“Uuuh…”
Today, not only the fairies but even Princess Eleanor, the Fairy Queen, is present, casting envious glances at me and the hamburgers. Undeterred by their gazes, I focus on cooking the hamburgers and then proceed to prepare a special sauce in the same pan.
“Hehe, today we’ve got a Japanese-style hamburger.”
“What’s that?”
“Well, it’s a soy sauce-based sauce with grated daikon radish.”
“That sounds delicious!”
Minya happily jumps around, her demeanor as if she actually has fairy wings sprouting from her back. With the hamburgers now finished, we arrange them in front of everyone.
Growl
A rumbling sound echoes from somewhere, indicating a hungry stomach. It’s hard to tell whose stomach it is, but the message is clear: they’re eager to devour the food immediately.
“With gratitude to Raffalier-sama, let’s begin.”
“Indeeeeeed.”
The fairies and the escort knights, along with everyone present, partake in enjoying the hamburgers.
“Deliciousssss.”
“It’s so delicious!”
“Miau-miauuu!”
“It’s truly delightful.”
After the wolf hunt, they savored the hamburgers, making it a fulfilling day.
This time, with Princess Eleanor also in attendance, there was a slight tension. However, with the assistance of Eleanor’s magic beams, we managed to overcome the group battle against the wolves.
It was quite an enriching experience, wouldn’t you say?
