Rising from the Slum City of Reincarnation in Another World ~ Gathering, Hunting, and Living a Slow Life by Eating
Chapter 135 Eldania flower garden
Spring was in full swing.
“Wow, look, there are so many fiddleheads!”
“Oh yeah, they’re everywhere.”
Minya and the others were gleefully frolicking.
In an open area within the castle walls, there was a spot where horsetails grew in abundance, and fiddleheads were popping up all around. It was a springtime spectacle.
Fiddleheads could be harvested and prepared by removing their bitterness, then enjoyed in dishes like ohitashi or candied.
When I regained my memories from my past life, the fiddleheads were no longer in season.
And in just a little while, it would mark a year since then.
“Over here, there’s a field full of rapeseed flowers.”
“Yeah.”
I wonder if girls really prefer flowers after all.
Though, in my opinion, substance matters more than style.
Bumblebees buzzed energetically above the vibrant yellow rapeseed fields.
Sure enough, spring had arrived, and it filled me with a deep sense of nostalgia.
“It’s a clover flower crown.”
“Minya, make one for me too.”
“Yeah, yeah, you did a great job.”
“Meow meow, I want one too.”
Minya, Lania, and Ciel were seated on a carpet of clover, and upon closer inspection, they were crafting flower crowns.
“Here you go, Ed’s portion.”
“Oh, um, thanks.”
“Hehe, now you’re the groom.”
“Yeah, sure.”
This is the girls’ springtime play, creating flower crowns and engaging in a mock wedding.
We never imagined we’d end up doing something like this.
Wearing flower crowns, surrounded by adorable brides, standing side by side.
“We vow to love each other forever, meow.”
“We vow. Hehe.”
“We vow, meow meow.”
The three brides huddled together. In addition to the cheerful spring weather, their warmth was even more comforting.
We strolled around the area, soaking in the surroundings.
“Look over here, there are lots of pink clovers.”
“Yeah, the pink is so vibrant.”
These clovers probably spread from the fields within the castle originally.
Clovers extended as far as the eye could see.
Spring brings a variety of flowers, making it enjoyable.
“Check this out, Fuki sprouts.”
Let’s see, let me appraise it.
【Merlia Fuki, Plant, Edible】
Certainly, it’s Fuki, so these must be Fuki sprouts. Fuki’s buds are known as Fuki sprouts.
They’re delicious when made into tempura, with a slight bitterness.
It would be amusing if it were appraised as “Fuki sprouts” at a time like this, but it seems that level of detail isn’t quite there.
I think there are plenty of them growing in the forest at this time of year.
And so, we walked in search of Fuki sprouts, collecting them as we went.
Upon returning to the Lord’s Manor Hotel, let’s make tempura with rapeseed flowers and Fuki sprouts.
“Here comes the frying!”
“Yay!”
“For sure!”
“Meow meow!”
A sizzling sound resonates.
One after another, we transform them into tempura. Spring wildflower tempura is truly delightful.
” Raffalier-sama. Lets eat.”
And so, we enjoy the tempura with a sprinkle of salt.
“It’s delicious.”
“Though a tad bitter, it’s quite tasty.”
“So good, meow.”
Seasonal dishes can only be enjoyed in their respective seasons, after all.
Such things should be treasured dearly.

After fully relishing the spring days for a few more days, a visitor arrived.
“Hey there, Ed.”
This sweet call, accompanied by pink twin tails, could only belong to Lady Eleanor.
Today, she arrived once again accompanied by the female knights in their red dress armor.
“Lately, you haven’t sent me any letters at all, so I had to come visit.”
“Uh, yeah, sorry about that. I’ve been busy in the capital and forgot.”
“That’s quite thoughtless.”
“My apologies, my apologies.”
As Lady Eleanor steps down from the carriage, she immediately rushes over and clings to me.
Her affectionate nature is quite apparent.
Whether it’s the scent of perfume or soap, there’s a pleasant fragrance that sets her apart from the others.
“Could you please prepare something to eat?”
It’s currently lunchtime.
When we arrived in Eldania before, we generally followed a schedule similar to this, arriving around noon.
“Well then, shall we go with the remaining bear meat?”
“Bear meat. That’s quite something. How wild.”
And so, I proceed to make a sweet and savory stir-fry with the bear meat.
“Delicious. And the satisfying texture of this meat is amazing.”
“So yummy.”
“It’s really tasty.”
“Um-um, meow.”
The girls seem to really enjoy it, which makes me happy.
But now, this large portion of bear meat has dwindled to a mere trace.
I should hunt down another one soon.
Since it’s spring, bears should start emerging from the woods. Until then, they hibernate in the caves at the base of the northern Helhorn Mountain.
Apparently, the exceptionally large boss-class bears don’t hibernate and roam around throughout the winter, attacking and consuming prey animals.
I’ll need to discuss bear hunting with Mark.
Well, it doesn’t have to be bears. Deer or boars would be fine too.
Goblins, on the other hand, I don’t need. While magical stones can be exchanged for currency, meat is still the main focus.
Even if I were to sell them, meat is more plentiful, which means it’s ultimately more valuable.
There’s a saying, “Squandering money on goblin hunting.” It means that focusing solely on goblins won’t yield profits, but rather losses.
Though, when talking about novice adventurers, goblin hunting is a common activity.
For us, with our appraisal and freshness-preserving item box, collecting herbs might be more lucrative, though.
It’s all about the meat, after all.
If dried meat is acceptable, the Adiberria Empire has a surplus of goats and sheep, though some might be too salty, and they do come with a price tag.
So, in conclusion, as spring arrives, I’m inclined to embark on a meat-hunting venture.
“We want meat.”
“That’s true. I’m craving some too.”
“Minya wants some too. I also want delicious meat. Hamburgers.”
“Wow, hamburgers and fried chicken, meow!”
And so, their agreement was obtained.
“I would like to join the hunt as well. Ed-kun.”
“Huh? Lady Eleanor, you too?”
Even the female knight in charge of guarding seems somewhat perplexed.
But if she really insists, I don’t see why not.
The danger is… present. I can’t irresponsibly say it’s not. Adventurers assume their own risks.
However, is it really appropriate to take the lord’s daughter along on a hunt?
