Chapter 100.5   SS4 The Manor Hotel Prequel

The weather has gotten quite hot.

However, as usual, Minya clings to me in the mornings.

Thankfully, it’s still a bit cool in the early morning.

We’ve decided to turn the Eldania Manor into a hotel, and everything is going smoothly.

Things are going so well it’s almost a bit scary.

Lady Eleanor is lending us not only funds but also personnel.

First, she sent people to inspect the Eldania Manor.

Apparently, most of the interior was left as it was.

Since the lord fled first, the remaining servants lost the person who would grant them permission to take the property, so they evacuated to the royal capital with only their personal essentials.

So, everything from the beds to the magical stoves was left untouched.

Lady Eleanor is extremely enthusiastic.

However, she seems sad about us moving from the city of Trieste to Eldania.

“Ed, are you really going to Eldania?”

“Yes.”

“You could just send the people you hired. Why don’t you stay and live at the Trieste Manor with the girls?”

“Well, it’s true I don’t have to do it myself. But I’m worried about leaving everything to Gid and the others.”

“I understand that, but…”

The journey between Trieste and Eldania takes four days one way.

A round trip takes more than a week.

Of course, if we push hard riding the Lombard running birds, it could be done in two days one way, but that would be tough on the children’s stamina.

“That’s it! As an investor, I should go there to supervise. I’m not attending school or anything, so I could go to Eldania.”

“What do you think?”

“Hee hee. I could nurture a love nest with you without being interrupted by my parents. Even though there are three other girls, we could all have a happy time together.”

We explained the layout of the manor to the people who went for a preliminary inspection and assigned rooms.

The servant rooms with beds could be converted into hotel rooms.

The single and shared rooms were perfect for guest accommodations.

We could use the private rooms, reception rooms, and small dining rooms where the lord’s family lived as they were.

There was also a large dining hall, which we decided to use as a dining area for the guests.

Then there was the basement.

The first basement level had storage rooms and food storage.

The second basement level had a large wine cellar and a prison.

Prisons are essential for such administrative facilities, so we left it as it was.

While we attended school and took classes from our new half-elf teacher, preparations continued.

Finally, the day came for us to go to Eldania.

Most of the preparations were complete, and all that remained was for our management team and the working staff to go there and open the hotel.

Minya and her parents, Lania, Ciel, Lady Eleanor, one female knight, and I rode in our carriage on the Eltria Highway.

Another carriage carrying the human and elf helpers accompanied us.

Additionally, Lady Eleanor’s original carriage carried two female knights, three male knights, and three armed maids.

The female knight riding with us is Silriette.

Her breastplate, gauntlets, and greaves are metal but have been lightened as much as possible.

They have a pattern of ridges and grooves like a plastic bottle to reinforce their strength.

She wears a fluttery miniskirt, garters, and red knee-high socks.

In this world, red dye is relatively expensive and considered a noble color.

Her upper arms, stomach, and thighs are exposed, adding a bit of allure.

The “absolute territory” is quite impressive.

Even as a former high school boy, girls wore miniskirts with plain navy socks, so the absolute territory was a rare sight.

The way her thighs are just barely visible, and her skirt sways slightly is indescribable.

Whoever designed this female knight uniform must have been an old man. They really knew what they were doing.

“Ed, your soup is delicious as always.”

“Thank you.”

Lady Eleanor was also satisfied.

Since I was cooking during our journey, I made soup.

Luckily, we still had some Elder mushrooms, so I used them sparingly.

It was a summer vegetable soup with tomatoes and eggplants.

In the carriage, Minya had taken a liking to the half-elf Silriette and was relaxing on her lap.

She seemed uncomfortable with Mikurashia from the Adventurer’s Guild, who treated her with almost worshipful reverence.

Even though Silriette  is also a half-elf, she seems to have a more laid-back demeanor that matches Minya’s.

“Hmm hmm~. Nyalalala, hanyaru~n♪”

She hummed and sang like this the whole time, gently swaying back and forth on Silriette’s lap.

We watched this pseudo-elf sister duo with grins, enjoying the ride.

We passed the time playing games like “Look This Way, Hoi” and guessing how many fingers were held up.

Eventually, we arrived at the manor.

“We finally made it, nya.”

“Hey, Minya, don’t run around.”

“I won’t do that, Ed.”

She said this while twirling around me.

She looks just like a whimsical fairy when she does that.

With Lady Eleanor leading the way, we had the servant she hired who came ahead of us open the entrance, and we went inside. It’s spacious.

It’s almost as big as the Trieste Manor.

“This is our new house!”

“Yeah, you just wanted to say that, didn’t you?”

“Nyaa~n.”

Minya ran off, with Ciel following her.

Lania and I quietly held hands. Immediately, Lady Eleanor sidled up on the other side and gently poked my hand.

“Hold my hand too.”

“O-okay.”

So I held Lady Eleanor’s hand as well.

We slowly but surely entered the manor.

This is our new home, the Eldania Manor Hotel.
