Chapter 56: “A Fight with the God of Thunder?!” ④
Thor’s punch hit hard.
For a brief moment—just a fraction of a second—Natsuki’s vision went white.
And in that split-second of lost awareness—Thor saw his opening.
“NUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
Natsuki’s punch had cracked Thor’s jaw—But that alone wasn’t enough to slow the Thunder God down.
Without hesitation, he launched a relentless barrage of punches, each strike carrying the force to completely crush his opponent.
Each blow packed enough power to end the life of a seasoned warrior.
For an ordinary human, just grazing a single punch would feel like getting hit by a speeding truck—And that would be the end.
Psychics, witches, sorcerers, supernatural beings—none of them would stand a chance.
No—It wasn’t even about winning.
Against Thor, the mere thought of fighting back would be absurd.
Just standing in his presence—just facing that overwhelming divine power—Would be enough to kill them.
And yet—Natsuki wasn’t just facing him. He was taking those punches—Getting hit over and over—And he still wasn’t falling.
For a human—No, even for a monster—What Natsuki was doing defied reason.
“Magnificent! Absolutely magnificent, Natsuki! Even though you’re purely on the defensive—The fact that you’re still standing after taking my punches—And still in one piece—Is completely unheard of!”
Natsuki didn’t have the luxury to respond.
Both of his arms were already shattered. His nose was broken. His shoulder, his ribs—several of them were cracked.
Even breathing hurt. If he just collapsed now—It would be so much easier.
But—
The moment he tried to go on the offensive, he knew Thor’s overwhelming power would crush him.
Right now, all he could do was defend.
But at this rate—
It was only a matter of time before he lost.
(…Okay, now I’m actually getting pissed. Why the hell am I the one getting punched this much?! A few autographs and video messages aren’t worth this crap!)
“It’s a shame you won’t fight back, but so be it! All good things must come to an end! I shall carve this memory into my heart—Farewell, Natsuki Yura!”
A golden fist—brimming with lightning stronger than anything before—Shot forward, aiming straight for Natsuki’s face.
If it connected—At this point, his entire head would be obliterated.
Or at least—It would have been.
Somehow—
Without anyone noticing—
Natsuki had already healed his broken arms.
And the very next moment—
He caught Thor’s boulder-like fist with just one hand.
“…What?”
“You’ve been hitting me over and over like I’m a damn punching bag. Yeah, I’m done with that. Now it’s my turn.”
“Oh?”
“—60%.”
Something snapped inside Natsuki. And in that instant—His magic exploded.
Blue lightning surged from his body, crackling violently as sparks danced across the battlefield.
“—Hou.”
“Three minutes. That’s all I need to kill you. —Thunder Fist.”
Natsuki’s left fist drove deep into Thor’s right side—And exploded with a deafening clap of thunder.
“Gah—! Hah—!”
The impact tore through Thor’s stomach—A streak of lightning pierced straight through his back, bursting outward.
Thor clutched his abdomen, blood spewing from his mouth—But instead of shock, he laughed.
“—Unbelievable. You remind me of my father, Odin.”
“That’s an honor.”
Thor swung his fist—
But before it could land—Natsuki’s punch collided, shattering Thor’s knuckles—And with brute force alone, his fist smashed straight into the Thunder God’s face.
Thor’s massive frame spun through the air, crashing to the ground—But before he could move—Natsuki’s foot struck again, launching the Thunder God like a kicked ball.
As Thor’s body skimmed inches above the ground—Natsuki blitzed ahead with lightning speed—And with zero hesitation—He brought his foot down.
A sickening crack rang out.
Natsuki’s heel pressed into Thor’s chest.
His armor—useless.
His bare chest—scorched by Natsuki’s surging lightning.
Thor grabbed at the boy’s foot, trying to push it away—
But it didn’t budge. Not even a little.
Natsuki pressed harder. Ribs cracked. Lungs collapsed.
Thor struggled, desperately resisting—But Natsuki was stronger.
Blood gushed from Thor’s mouth, staining his face and throat. And when Natsuki saw it—
He grinned. A cruel, twisted grin. Then, he pressed down even harder.
“…I changed my mind.”
For some reason, Natsuki lifted his foot off Thor’s chest.
Then, he stepped back.
“Why?”
Thor slowly pushed himself upright. His body battered, bloodied, and barely holding together.
But despite his injuries—His face burned with fury.
He knew—If the fight had continued, Natsuki would have won.
And yet, he had been spared.
To a warrior—That was nothing short of an insult.
“Why the hell are you getting mad? Forget that—just hurry up and bring out your hammer.”
“…What?”
“I wanna win fair and square. Why the hell are you trying to lose without using your best weapon? You’re the God of Thunder, right? That hammer is your ultimate weapon. So use it—and then lose properly.”
The rage in Thor’s expression faded.
And in its place—came pure joy.
“All-Father Odin… and Natsuki Yura… I offer my deepest gratitude for this battle.”
“Same here. This fight helped me understand how to control my power in this world even better. Looks like I just got even stronger.”
The lightning around Natsuki faded—
And with that, he reached out—
Calling upon the Holy Sword.
(Hellooo, Holy Sword-san. It’s your time to shine~.)
(…What, just keep fighting on your own.)
(Don’t give me that. You’re my power. No arguing. When I need you, you give me your strength—that was the deal, remember?)
(—Ugh.)
(Or what? You scared of the God of Thunder? Back in the other world, you were treated like some almighty lightning deity, but now you’re chickening out?)
(Excuse me?! Like hell I am! Fine! Use me if you want! But listen up—you can’t handle my full power right now! That hasn’t changed!)
(That’s fine. That’s more than enough.)
(Hmph! Just so you know—if you lose to some thunder god, I’ll never forgive you!)
With that final remark, the Holy Sword fell silent. My Holy Sword’s a total tsundere, so let’s wrap this up before she starts sulking again.”
A blade of pure lightning formed in Natsuki’s right hand.
“Alright, let’s finish this.
“Agreed! I, Thor, shall wield my power to the fullest!”
A rough, battle-worn hammer appeared in Thor’s grasp.
“—Time to slay a god. Thunder Blade: Thunderclap!”
“Then I’ll meet you with all my might—Mjölnir!!”
The Hero’s Holy Sword and the Thunder God’s Hammer clashed.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Natsuki at 60% >>>>>> Thor at 80%
This fight wasn’t just for show—Natsuki needed to recover some of his lost power, and this battle plays a key role in the upcoming events!
By the way—Holy Sword-san totally went “doki-doki” after being talked down like that.
