Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 28
Chapter 28: “Shogayaki is the Best, Right?”
“I’m home!”
Stepping inside and kicking off his sneakers, Natsuki was greeted by Koume, Ginko, Jack, Nancy, and Satan waiting for him.
Even though dinner time had already passed, everyone had stayed up to wait for him.
“Sorry, sorry! I ended up getting back way later than I thought.”
“Oh, you’re finally back. Go wash your hands and gargle first.”
“Yessir, Daddy Koume.”
“Who the hell’s your dad?!”
They laughed at the exchange before Natsuki did as he was told, washing up before returning to the living room.
“Welcome home, Natsuki-kun. Alright, let’s eat.”
As Nancy said that, Jack stood up to help, giving Natsuki a light pat on the shoulder.
“Welcome back.”
Then, he started setting the table.
Meanwhile, Ginko—who had been sitting in front of the round table, reading a newspaper like an old-fashioned dad from the Showa era—glanced over and casually said, “Welcome back, man.”
Next to him, the Demon King of the Underworld was sitting with a frosty beer mug in hand, happily sipping away.
The words “SATAN” were boldly printed on the mug.
Natsuki decided to pretend he hadn’t seen that and took his usual seat.
“Tonight’s dinner is shogayaki! Alphonse-san taught me the recipe, so I gave it a shot!”
“Ohh!”
Nancy’s shogayaki had the perfect balance of spicy ginger and the rich aroma of soy sauce, blending together into an irresistible fragrance that made everyone’s stomach growl.
“Alright then—let’s eat!”
“Let’s dig in!”
With Koume leading the charge, everyone started eating.
Natsuki took a sip of the onion and tofu miso soup first.
The gentle sweetness of the onions and the mellow miso flavor spread through his mouth, filling him with warmth.
Next, he picked up a bite of the shiny, steaming rice and popped it into his mouth.
And then, he finally reached for the shogayaki, which smelled so good it could be eaten with scent alone.
To his surprise, the meat wasn’t pork—it was beef.
The beef had just the right amount of fat, making it incredibly tender, and the flavor had seeped in beautifully.
The moment he took a bite, the rich taste of the meat combined with the carefully blended ginger, soy sauce, and mirin completely took over his taste buds.
“THIS IS AMAZINGGGGGG! Nancy-san, this is incredible!”
“Ufufu, thank you~”
While Natsuki was busy praising her, the rest of them were already fully immersed in devouring the shogayaki and rice, alternating between bites.
“Not enough rice! More, please!”
“Ah, me too!”
“This Satan wants more as well!”
“I’d like another serving too!”
As everyone requested refills, Nancy happily scooped more rice from the hitsu (wooden rice container).
Before they knew it, dinner was over.
Usually, meals at the Yura household were filled with lively conversations—but tonight, Nancy’s shogayaki had completely stolen the show.
“Whew… I’m stuffed. —By the way, why is Satan-san even here?”
After finishing their meal, Koume and Ginko helped Nancy clean up. Meanwhile, Satan kept glancing at Natsuki, looking restless.
At this point, ignoring him any longer wasn’t an option, so Natsuki finally asked.
The moment he did, Satan’s expression lit up with relief.
“Took you long enough! If you ignore bunnies and Satan, they’ll die from loneliness, you know!”
“I couldn’t care less!”
Natsuki let out a sigh.
Where exactly was the bunny in this middle-aged man wearing a white suit supposed to be?
