Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V4 Chapter 10
Chapter 10: “An Uninvited Guest, Huh?” ③
“Well, well, you’re some spirited fellows, aren’t you? But why are humans in a yokai village? And that loudmouth over there—are you sure he’s even human?”
The hulking man gave Yusuke a curious once-over, his gaze almost predatory.
Yusuke, unfazed, raised his voice defiantly.
“Who am I, you ask? If you don’t know, let me enlighten you!”
“Hey, Sado, don’t say anything unnecessary!”
“I am the protector of yokai, no, the guardian of all demi-humans and a hero! I am Yusuke Sadooooooooooooooooooo!”
The yokai watching from a distance clapped politely, pat-pat.
Meanwhile, Senju rubbed his temples, already feeling a headache coming on.
Just like Natsuki, he wished Yusuke would be a little more discreet about being a hero who returned from another world.
Yusuke wasn’t just a random guy—he had been summoned to another world and fought as the Hero of the Earth. His power and experience were on an entirely different level compared to ordinary Japanese psychics.
It didn’t matter who these intruding psychics were or where they came from; revealing his identity so casually in a yokai village they weren’t even invited to was a reckless move.
In the worst case, it could lead to him being exploited.
(Then again, considering Yura’s connections, it’s probably impossible for anyone to use him.)
After all, Natsuki had the backing of the police, demons, gods, and even cosmic entities.
There was no way ordinary psychics could stand a chance against that.
“You’re a strange one, aren’t you? …Not that it matters, but are you even human? Having magic like that means you’re not exactly normal, right?”
“Crap… these guys are from Kansai. Don’t tell me—they’re with the Abe Clan, aren’t they?”
“If you know us, that makes this faster. Yeah, we’re with the Abe Clan.”
“…You’ve got to be kidding me. Couldn’t you just stay quiet in Kyoto until the school trip arc or something?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, but if you side with the yokai, I’ll kill you.”
A wave of intense killing intent burst from the boy.
It was so overwhelming that a normal person would’ve fainted on the spot.
Worse still, the hatred he had for yokai was unmistakable. This wasn’t someone they could reason with.
“So, the Abe Clan coming here means you’re declaring war on the Institute?”
“You think we’re scared of the Institute? If those weaklings who think having psychic powers makes them hotshots compare themselves to us, who’ve been fighting since we were kids and coughing up blood, I’ll… honestly, I’ll laugh at the thought.”
“Alright, enough talk. Listen, boys—we’re here for the yokai, not you. If you step aside, we’ll let you go. If you interfere, we’ll deal with you first, before we even get to the yokai. So, what’s your answer?”
The hulking man’s question was met with Senju and Yusuke raising their middle fingers in unison.
“Fuck you!”
“We’ll even serve you some bubuzuke if it means you’ll leave!”
The hulking man grinned, as if he’d been waiting for this exact response.
“Perfect, perfect! I like crushing humans more than yokai anyway! I love strong guys—come on, let’s fight! I’ll make you the appetizer!”
“Enough talk. If it’s come to this, we’ll take you down ourselves. Ready, Sado?”
“The enemies of the yokai are my enemies tooooooooo!”
“You’re on fire, Sado! It’s terrifying, but right now, I’m counting on you!”
The hulking man stepped forward with excitement, while the boy advanced with irritation.
―Thus began their battle with the Abe Clan.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Meanwhile, Natsuki was…
Natsuki: “I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Grandpa, let’s go!”
Kappa: “Please wait, Lord Yura.”
Natsuki: “Kappa-san!”
Kappa: “I’ve heard that you saved one of our kind recently. We’re deeply grateful.”
Natsuki: “Don’t mention it. Honestly, I became a hero just to protect folks like you, Kappa-san.”
Nuranura: “No way that’s true.”
Kappa: “To show our gratitude, our king has sent you this.”
Portable Shrine: “Hello.”
Natsuki: “—Wha—wait, am I going to be carried by a Kappa!?”
Kappa: “Of course! Please, hop on!”
Natsuki: “I’m so glad I’m alive!”
Nuranura: “Seriously!?”
Or so the story goes—or maybe it doesn’t.
