Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 35
Chapter 35: “A Fight with Susanoo-no-Mikoto?” ②
“Kahyun, ah, wait, wait, I turned into a girl, into a girl.”
Susanoo-no-Mikoto staggered backward, clutching his groin.
Judging by his words, he still seemed to have some composure.
“No, you haven’t!”
“Hey, didn’t we agree to a fistfight? No one’s ever kicked the Susanoo-no-Mikoto in the groin before!”
“Hooray! I’m the first human to do it, thanks!”
“That’s not what I meant! A fistfight is supposed to be about fists clashing, right?”
“In a fight, you use your whole body, don’t you?”
“Haven’t you ever read a yankee manga? Fists mean fists!”
“There’s no way a modern kid like me would read a yankee manga!”
Amid their silly exchange, Natsuki felt a bit unsettled.
Despite landing a kick aimed to crush, Susanoo-no-Mikoto still had composure.
(This is bad. I might not win with just thirty percent. Last time, I had a tough time even with fifty percent effort.)
After returning from the other world, Natsuki found that his body couldn’t bring out its peak power.
Even though he could use some of the holy sword’s power, he couldn’t wield the sword itself.
The same went for the demon sword, unable to fully display its power.
Of course, Natsuki was still stronger than Ren Kobayashi, who had been exceptional.
He knew Susanoo-no-Mikoto wasn’t going all out, but even so, his basic abilities were likely above Mammon’s.
(Now, what should I do?)
Ren, Yusuke, Senju, and Seishiro hesitated to make a move against Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
Ginko and Koume, who had no intention of fighting, looked at Natsuki worriedly. Natsuki waved reassuringly at them.
Natsuki knew Susanoo by name but didn’t know much about him.
He only knew Susanoo-no-Mikoto had defeated Yamata-no-Orochi by getting it drunk and had once relieved himself in Amaterasu’s house.
This god was truly outrageous. Normally, there wouldn’t be a god like this.
“Hey, wait a bit, let me tap my waist for a moment, just for a bit. Ah, I’m starting to calm down. I panicked there. Modern kids are really scary. You even surprised me, kicking me in the groin on the first hit. Even yankees from the Showa era wouldn’t do something that mean.”
“I told you, I don’t know about that!”
“I’ll lend you a yankee manga next time. That is, if you survive.”
Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s divine energy exploded.
It was an incredible power, making the local deity Mizuchi, who he fought recently, seem insignificant in comparison.
“Hey, you have magic power, right? Use it.”
As he was told, Natsuki released all the magic power he could muster, enhancing his physical abilities.
“Good, good. From what I can see, you’re about the level of a demon noble. You don’t seem as strong as when you fought Mammon, but let’s see what you’ve got.”
Natsuki felt a chill down his spine.
“Yes, that’s fear. Remember it well. Feel with your body, mind, and soul what kind of god you’re facing. Here I come.”
With a twisted smile, Susanoo-no-Mikoto vanished.
But he didn’t actually disappear; he moved at such speed that it seemed like he had.
No problem. Natsuki’s eyes could track him clearly.
In front of Natsuki was Susanoo-no-Mikoto, fist raised. It wasn’t a martial artist’s punch; it was a brute’s punch. Yet, it was stronger and more painful than any punch Natsuki had ever seen.
The punch struck Natsuki’s face, sending shockwaves down to his knees. Almost collapsing,
“Natsuki!”
“Natsuki-kun!”
Hearing Koume and Ginko’s voices, Natsuki endured with all his might.
He clenched his teeth so hard that his molars nearly cracked but he held on. Grabbing Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s arm, Natsuki delivered a headbutt.
Both Natsuki and Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s foreheads split open, blood spurting out.
“Nice! It’s been a while since I felt pain!”
Susanoo-no-Mikoto grabbed Natsuki by the collar and repeatedly punched his face without mercy.
Natsuki fought back, gripping Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s jinbei and landing punches.
Both of them, their faces covered in blood, laughed.
“Isn’t this fun, huh!?”
“It’s just painful, you bastard!”
As Natsuki’s fists began to weaken, he started kicking as well.
The white sneakers that struck Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s face turned red with blood.
Still smiling, Susanoo-no-Mikoto opened his mouth wide and bit down on Natsuki’s shoulder, tearing out a chunk of flesh.
“Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!”
Natsuki screamed in pain from being bitten for the first time.
Susanoo-no-Mikoto quickly jumped back, spat out the piece of flesh, wiped his blood-soaked mouth with an arm, and laughed loudly.
“Sorry, sorry, I got too excited! But hey, are you of pure blood? That’s rare, I like you even more now. If you survive this fight, I’ll give you my daughter as a bride.”
“It hurts! Ah, it really hurts! No way I’m calling you father-in-law!”
Susanoo-no-Mikoto looked delighted.
“This is fun. It’s been ages since someone hit me this much and took this much from me. Everyone else, once they realize they can’t beat me, begs for their life pathetically. Hey, Natsuki. Aren’t the people behind you the same? Instead of you fighting alone, they could all come at me together, but they don’t have the guts.”
“I’m enough on my own.”
“I’m starting to love you!”
“I’m gonna throw up!”
“You’re so cold. Well, as much fun as this fight is, it has to end sometime. There’s a show I want to watch soon, so let’s get serious. Draw your sword.”
Susanoo-no-Mikoto drew an ancient sword from thin air.
Anyone could see it was a divine sword, emitting a godly aura that made one’s cells tremble.
“—Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi.”
“Another big name weapon…”
There was no time to be in awe.
Seeing the sword, even more divine than Susanoo-no-Mikoto, Natsuki resolved to give it his all.
“—Under the name of Natsuki Yura, I release sealing techniques four and five.”
With a roar, Natsuki’s magic power surged.
Spider lilies were blown away, painting the world in red.
“Wow, that’s amazing. I’ve decided. If you die, I’ll recruit you to the divine clan!”
“I’ll live and die as a human! There won’t be a next time!”
“Seriously? That’s awesome! Hey, Natsuki! I’ll never forget you!”
“I’ll forget you by tomorrow!”
Natsuki drew the holy sword from his item box.
“Nice sword. It’s thrilling.”
“Thrill yourself.”
Both swung their swords simultaneously.
“The Holy Sword—Divine Thunder!”
“—Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi!”
Explosive magic and divine power clashed.
In the next moment,
“I win!”
Natsuki, along with the holy sword, was slashed diagonally by the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
—Don’t worry. I’m not dead!
※※Voice altered for privacy protection※※
Mr. Serpent: “Well, you know, I caused some trouble in my hometown too, sure. I wouldn’t complain if I got killed. But killing me when I was drunk after getting me to drink? That’s a bit unfair, don’t you think? I get it, it’s strategy. It’s my fault for not seeing through it. I understand. But still, I wanted to fight fair and square. Losing is fine, but I wanted to lose in a proper fight. I wanted to lose while sober. It’s just a bit disappointing to have my fight with a famous god end like that.”
