Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V3 Chapter 10
Chapter 10: “Did you come to meet the victim?” ③
“Sorry for everything.”
Yusuke Sado, having regained his composure, apologized to Natsuki Yura and Senju Nanamori.
“It’s okay. I mean, it’s not like it’s someone else’s problem. Actually, it really isn’t.”
“…For me, the real surprise is that both of you were summoned to another world.”
Senju knew about the existence of other worlds, but only to the extent that ancient people had been summoned to another world or that people from other worlds had come to ours.
Senju was only tasked with leading Natsuki Yura to Yusuke Sado and didn’t know the details.
“Y-Yura-kun, right? So, the other world is real, right? The experiences I had are real?”
“Yeah. It would be nice if it were all just a dream, but it all really happened. I was summoned to another world just like you, Sado-kun, and then I came back. Time hadn’t moved on Earth.”
“I thought… maybe I was going crazy.”
“You’re okay. You’re sane. But I understand how you feel. You wouldn’t expect such a terrible world to exist.”
“That’s a relief… I’m sane. So it wasn’t a dream or a delusion, it really happened.”
Natsuki, speaking personally, thinks that it’s more of a nightmare that such a terrible world actually exists, but he believes it’s better for Yusuke to fully acknowledge that he really went through that tough experience, so he doesn’t mention anything unnecessary.
Natsuki had come to terms with the reality of the other world while he was there, so he wasn’t confused when he returned.
The big difference between them is that Natsuki came back on his own will, whereas Yusuke was brought back by God’s hand after dying, which probably added to his confusion.
(So, it’s God’s fault, huh?)
Natsuki heard some complaints from somewhere but ignored them.
“But, why did you come to me?”
“Well, the God who brought Sado-kun back to Earth dispatched me because he thought you needed someone to talk to!”
“God? What God?”
“God is God. You know, the one who created this world, worked hard for six days, and then celebrated in a bar on the seventh.”
“…There’s no way there was a bar. Well, I wasn’t there, so I can’t say for sure.”
Senju, who only vaguely knew about God, pointed this out.
He could say he’s Satan’s father or Koume’s grandfather, but that would just confuse things further.
“For now, just think of him as the God who brought you back to Earth.”
“Ah, okay.”
“Since you probably can’t tell your family about the terrible things that happened in the other world, I came to listen because I’ve been in the same situation. Nice to meet you!”
“This kid seems pretty light-hearted for someone who was also summoned to the same other world. Are you really okay?”
In response to Senju’s question, Natsuki scoffed.
“I don’t care what happens to those losers from that other world! I got my revenge on them, and I didn’t really listen to anything special they said. I just scattered the demon forces that were in my way when I was coming back to Earth, that’s all.”
Actually, Natsuki did have some trauma, but not as much as Yusuke, and he was overcoming it thanks to new friendships, so he put on a brave face.
“You’re… right. I should try to be more positive too. After all, I managed to come back.”
“Exactly. And don’t worry, God said that you won’t be summoned again.”
“Can I trust that?”
“I think it’s fine. God seemed to have thought it through.”
“That’s good to hear. I’ve been so scared that I might get called back to that world again.”
Natsuki gently patted the teary-eyed Yusuke on the shoulder.
“But really, it sounds like the other world was a terrible place. What kind of experiences did you guys have to react so strongly?”
Looking puzzled, Senju listened as Natsuki and Yusuke shared a bit about the events they experienced in the other world.
Even Senju, who had a past of trying to dissect aliens, turned pale at their stories.
“I’m a jerk too, but there are worse people than me. Anyway, it’s good you could come back. So, what are you guys going to do now?”
“I’ll just go back to middle school life?”
“No, I mean besides that.”
Yusuke, tearing up, answered Senju’s casual question.
“I want to go back to college. I want to laugh with my friends and have face-to-face conversations with my family.”
Faced with Yusuke’s heartfelt wish, Natsuki and Senju looked at each other, not sure how to respond.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Natsuki may have come to terms with things in his own way, but Yusuke is still deeply affected.
