Chapter 48: “It’s actually exciting, isn’t it?” ②

After finishing their meal, Natsuki and the others were on their way to the Minazuki household in a minivan borrowed by Ginko from her mother.

Kazuto had visited the Yura family early, even sharing breakfast with them, too excited to sleep the night before. 

Ginko had left the house pretending to go to work, saying “I’m off,” and then joined up with the others, so there were no issues.

Koume didn’t leave with the rest but joined them after Natsuki’s mother went to work, sneaking out of the window.

“By the way, Koume-chan, do you know about the deity Amaterasu?”

“I’ve met her a few times long ago. It’s been over a thousand years, so I don’t remember much.”

“As always, the scale is divine!”

When Natsuki asked Koume, he received the usual epic response.

Kazuto couldn’t hide his surprise upon learning Koume had lived for so long.

Ginko teased from the driver’s seat, “You’re always such an old lady, huh?” poking fun at Koume, who was seated in the passenger seat.

“It’s exciting, isn’t it? I’ve skipped school with Natsuki-kun before, but I never imagined we’d be going to meet a deity. If the me from a few days ago knew… I’d probably faint…”

“Me too!”

“Same here. I’ve gotten used to it though! Here’s some advice from a beautiful lady to Kazuto-kun: spend a couple of days with Natsuki-kun, and you’ll get used to it too!” 

“I guess it’s all about getting used to it, huh? But now that I think about it, Natsuki-kun has always been adventurous.”

Kazuto nodded in agreement with Ginko’s words, but Natsuki couldn’t recall what they were talking about.

“Really?”

“Yes! Remember when you knocked out ten high schoolers who were holding a grudge because of my shitty brother? Or when a girl he messed with got you involved with some scary folks, and you ended up beating them all? Or even when you turned the tables on the university wrestling team that surrounded you because of him?”

“That’s just everyday stuff, right?” 

“Not at all!”

“It’s kind of funny that it’s always Kazuto-kun’s brother causing these problems.”

“I wouldn’t want to be lumped in with a jinx!”

For Natsuki, who had been dragged into situations by Yuto since he could remember, what Kazuto mentioned was just the tip of the iceberg. 

There had been more troublesome and dangerous incidents. 

“Hahaha. It’s nothing compared to the crazy stuff in another world.”

“If Natsuki-kun, who’s had a hard time because of my terrible brother, says another world is worse, it must be the worst world.”

“At least it’s a world where I wouldn’t want to be summoned or reincarnated.”

Koume and Kazuto nodded in agreement with Ginko’s words.

“Speaking of which, how’s your terrible brother doing?”

“Well, he said he was going to meet the only girl he could contact last night and hasn’t been back since. But, as you mentioned, Natsuki-kun, all of his charm powers are sealed, correct?”

“Maybe there’s a girl who likes Yuto without any charm?” 

“Ah. That’s a possibility. Anyway, it was quiet this morning, which was nice.”

Natsuki isn’t worried about Yuto’s actions anymore.

He can’t afford to care about that now. What’s really on his mind is the excitement to meet the deity Amaterasu as soon as possible.

“Ah, look. Everyone’s here to welcome us.”

While they were chatting about trivial matters, the car approached the Minazuki family home, where several figures could be seen waiting outside. 

Among them were Kaya Minazuki, the head of the Minazuki family, along with Miyako, Mio, Seiun, Unkai, and Hiragi – all familiar faces to Natsuki.

Their tired appearances were probably not just their imagination.

It’s natural for the Minazuki family to be overwhelmed by the arrival of such a significant deity as a local god.

“Good morning, everyone. Have you been waiting long?”

Natsuki greeted as he got out of the car, prompting everyone to bow. 

Ginko and Kazuto quickly followed suit, but Koume stood tall with pride.

“Natsuki Yura-sama, we are grateful that you have visited the Minazuki family once again. We apologize for involving you and everyone else in our matters.”

“Ah, it’s okay, but is there anything specific you need from me? I mean, apart from fighting, I’m not sure what I can do.”

Truth be told, Natsuki was doubtful about what he could offer against a deity like Amaterasu. 

If it were about fighting, he’d gladly accept, but that wasn’t the case. 

He was genuinely curious. 

Then, Kaya looked troubled.

“Some divine figures mentioned that it should be fine with Natsuki-sama involved.”

“Divine figures? Who are they!?”

Grandpa Nagi: “Hello, how’s it going? Do you think you can get along with Amaterasu?”

Kaya: “Um, I’m not sure how to deal with this… I’m sorry.”

Grandpa Nagi: “Is that so? Well, you should rely on Natsuki Yura. He’s a communication wizard, so he’ll make friends in no time.”

Kaya: “I see. We will do so then.”

Grandpa Nagi: “We also want to get along with Natsuki Yura. So, please take care of it.”

It seemed like there might have been a conversation like that.
