Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 36
Chapter 36: “Aliens Are Cool, Right?” ①
“Hello. We met briefly the other day, but I wanted to properly introduce myself. My name is Jack Randock Jasper Williamson Chamber Hanamaki. If you’re a friend of Natsuki, you’re a friend of mine. I’d love to get along.”
“Hello. I am Nancy Peety Lottrott Nigelmary Akaboshi. I’m Jack’s fiancée. Pleased to meet you.”
“Ah, I’m Kazuto Miyahara. Wow, you’re both incredibly handsome and beautiful! And your names are really long!”
Jack and Nancy had returned home and introduced themselves to Kazuto.
Jack, in his human form, was an exceptionally handsome man, and Nancy was a beauty that would make anyone turn their head. It was no wonder Kazuto was mesmerized.
Above all, the length of their names made a significant impression, memorable enough to be recalled easily.
“Ah, Kazuto. Jack and Nancy-san are aliens.”
“―Huh? Eh? Are there really aliens? Seriously? For real?”
“Jack, if you don’t mind, could you show him your true form?”
“Of course. I want my friends to see my true self.”
Jack smiled and nodded, and his figure distorted fluidly―transforming in an instant into the form of a Grey alien with a silver body.
“Whoa, soooo cooool!”
Jack and Nancy had the familiar shapes seen in movies, yet it was clear they were living beings.
Natsuki, having encountered them in a deserted darkness, was initially taken aback by surprise, but had they met through someone’s introduction like this, Natsuki would surely have reacted just like Kazuto.
(What a genuine boyish reaction, Kazuto!)
Ginko and Koume, who were drinking tea, were somewhat taken aback by Kazuto’s excitement. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t perceive the Grey’s appearance as cool.
“…Kazuto-kun is quite an unusual kid, huh?”
“He’s Natsuki’s best buddy, after all.”
“The eyes of Jack-san in his Grey form, deep and dark like the universe, feel like they see right through you, which is kinda scary.”
“I get you. These guys are nice, and it feels like they can even see the guilty things we’re hiding.”
Putting aside the ladies’ opinions, Natsuki once again looked at Jack in a well-lit place and trembled with emotion.
Like a Grey straight out of a movie, Natsuki understood that Jack, just as he was handsome in his human form, was considered handsome in the Grey community as well.
Above all, his personality was admirable.
Even when his fiancée was abducted, and he had every right to explode in anger, he chose to respond like a gentleman. Such exemplary behavior is rare even among humans.
“Ah, um! Can I take a photo?”
“Ah, that’s not fair, Kazuto! Me too, me too!”
“Hahaha. I don’t mind, but please keep it private. I’d like it to be for personal use only.”
“Of course! Right, Natsuki-kun?”
“Yeah, of course! Kazuto.”
Natsuki and Kazuto nodded to each other, and the photo shoot began.
Naturally, if they were going to take photos with a Grey, they absolutely wanted to do the classic shot: Jack in the middle with Natsuki and Kazuto on either side, wearing trench coats and holding hands. It was the epitome of cliché.
They then recreated scenes from movies and did various other things.
“Wait, did you say Natsuki-kun flew in the sky with Jack-san in the basket of a bicycle!?”
“Flew, indeed! We soared!”
“Man, that’s so cool!”
“Hahahaha, the privileges of being a mage!”
Jack, ever the good sport, joined in the fun along with Natsuki and Kazuto. Nancy also transformed into her Grey form and participated in the photo shoot.
“Boys will be boys, huh?”
“Agree.”
Ginko and Koume chuckled, but they quickly stood up when it was time to take a group photo.
“Hey, don’t leave us out, that’d be sad!”
“How can you take a proper photo without me, the main character, in the center!”
Not wanting to be left out, they forcefully made their way into the photo. Using the timer function, they took several photos, and Natsuki and Kazuto were thoroughly satisfied.
“Thank you, Jack-san! We’ll have to find some way to thank you.”
“Don’t worry about it, Kazuto. The best thanks is seeing my friends happy.”
“So cool… I’ve always wanted a brother like that.”
“Feel the same here.”
Jack would undoubtedly make a brother anyone would be proud of.
“Ah, that was awesome! Sorry for hanging around for so long. I should head back now.”
“Why don’t you stay for dinner, or even spend the night?”
“I’d like to, but my shitty brother is causing trouble at home, and my parents are having a hard time because of it. It doesn’t feel right to just run away from that. Besides, now that I understand the mess my brother’s in is his own fault, I can’t help but feel it serves him right, so I’m not too worried.”
Given the incident with Alphonse, there was concern about letting Kazuto go home. However, Koume mentioned that with the charm given by Michael, it’s unlikely anything could happen to Kazuto unless it was something serious.
Though they were worried, they couldn’t justify making Kazuto stay at the Yura house forever to their parents, so it was decided he would go home for the day.
“My new friend, if you’d like, I can give you a ride. It’s a loaner, but a fine ship.”
“—What?”
“—For real?”
〜〜Afterword〜〜
Kazuto, having such a troublesome brother, readily accepted Jack.
By the way, Yuto has been watching lots of videos since morning, trying to psych himself up. He’s also been reaching out to women, but without much success.
It’s about to be the seventh day since Natsuki’s return from another world.
