Returned from Another World, Earth Turned Out to Be Quite the Fantasy Too. Also, Losing Heroines, Stop Looking This Way. - V2 Chapter 31
Chapter 31: “A transfer, huh?”
In Mukaijima City, inside the chief’s office of the Police Station.
“—Ha? What did you just say?
Ginko Aoyama asked, wanting to confirm what her father, Hisashi Aoyama, had said.
Hisashi Aoyama, who was not only the chief of the police station but also the head of the “Special Disaster Division” that dealt with paranormal incidents, had made a surprising declaration.
Ginko, Hisashi’s daughter, was both a police officer and a psychic.
Naturally, their relationship at work was strictly professional, with Hisashi as her superior.
Ginko couldn’t believe her ears and looked utterly flabbergasted at her father’s words.
“Let me repeat myself then. I am ordering you to move to the Yura family!”
“…Why? Don’t tell me it’s something like ‘I have to protect Haruko-san,’ because I’ll flatly refuse!”
“You’re naive. Haruko-san is already being protected!”
“You stalker old man! Then why are you even suggesting something as absurd as moving to the Yura family!”
Hisashi took a deep breath, seeming exhausted, before explaining,
“Ever since I found out Natsuki is on this side, I’ve been swamped!”
“…Ha.”
“I know Natsuki is not to blame. A good kid, no doubt about it! But why did he manage to make contact with the Minazuki family, encounter Grey, fight with a psychic and an angel, and destroy a building—all in the last day of summer vacation!? No summer break should be this eventful!”
“Well… you’re right about that.”
Hearing it all laid out like that was terrifying.
Moreover, now Grey and the angel were living together. It was certainly something neither of them could have predicted.
“Even if we, together with the Minazuki family, go to the lengths of slaying gods to keep information under wraps, there’s no doubt it will leak from somewhere. Listen, there are people out there who wish to meddle with gods and demons. If Natsuki decides to get involved of his own free will, that’s one thing, but we should do everything in our power to prevent him from being dragged into trouble.”
“You’re right. We, as adults, must protect him.”
“…Every time there’s a fight, it’s a problem if buildings and mountains get destroyed.”
“…Indeed.”
The hero from another world, wielding his formidable firepower, wreaks havoc akin to a god of destruction.
Despite holding back, he has caused significant damage to a building and the Minazuki family’s mountain. The terrifying part is that Natsuki is not even at full power, let alone at his peak.
“I understand. If he’s Haruko-san’s son, he won’t be short of events to deal with.”
“I wish you wouldn’t call them ‘events.'”
“High school days with Haruko-san were filled with daily events. Honestly, a single day back then felt longer than a whole day in elementary school! At times, I found myself wishing the day would just end!”
“I know, things are intense with Haruko-san.”
“I, who dedicated my youth to protect Haruko-san, can assure you that Natsuki is either going to cause a stir or get caught up in one. Sooner rather than later, he’ll encounter beings of a higher existence that one wouldn’t normally come across in an ordinary life!”
“…So, it’s not a ‘might happen,’ but a ‘will happen.’ And what do you suggest we do?”
“I want you to protect Natsuki.”
Hisashi looked directly into his daughter’s eyes as he spoke.
“Natsuki is strong. Strong, but still a child. No matter how many harsh days he’s spent in another world, to us, he’s just a middle school boy. I wish I could protect him myself, but I lack the power and my position makes it difficult to act. The most I can do is clean up after things have already happened.”
“…Dad.”
“If you could stay by his side… I know it mixes personal with official business, but it would be reassuring. Also, I secretly hope you get dragged into it and experience some hardship like I have.”
“So that’s what it was all about, huh?”
“Just kidding. But seriously, I want to be contacted if something happens. I’m not saying to surveil him, but please, keep an eye out as an adult.”
“Got it. Natsuki-kun is a good kid, and he gets along with Koume-san. Plus, Haruko-san’s cooking is amazing, so I’m on board with the transfer.”
Hisashi thought Ginko might resist the idea of being asked to do something akin to spying, but she plans to get Natsuki’s consent before reporting back, so there’s no issue. With the understanding that everything they’re doing is for Natsuki’s sake, neither of them is reading too much into it or worrying unnecessarily.
“Also, take this with you.”
“What’s this Tupperware for?”
“Pack some of Haruko-san’s food in it!”
“I’ll knock you out!”
Sigh, there’s no helping it, Ginko thought with a shrug.
After saying goodbye to her father and distributing sweets to her colleagues to announce her temporary departure, she got into the car to head home.
“Alright! As long as Natsuki-kun doesn’t stir up anything, it’ll be an easy daily routine! Yesss!”
Ginko thought that even if Natsuki was a hero returning from another world, he wouldn’t cause too much trouble. After all, with the backing of the Minazuki family, it seemed unlikely that anyone related to psychic matters would confront him.
However, Ginko’s optimistic view was quickly challenged when Lucifer and Satan appeared out of nowhere. She certainly never dreamed she’d end up sharing meals and drinks with them.
〜〜Afterword〜〜
It might not exactly be a transfer in the traditional sense, but that’s the general idea. Incidentally, Ginko plans to write reports and handle tasks that can be done alone while Natsuki is at school. She’ll be working properly!
Next time, it’s Kazuto’s turn. And we’re also preparing for the introduction of a third childhood friend soon.

So, it seems his mother is also what an imbalanced character.
