Reincarnated Devil’s Strongest Hero Training Plan ~The baby he picked up has grown up so well that his father is confused~
Volume 2 Chapter 1 Mischievous and cute half-elf, half-demon
Five years had passed since the heroes, both overt and covert, who had saved the world had settled their differences.
The low-class demon who had passed on his magical castle to his son, Ars, had built a new mansion to commemorate the birth of his child with his wife, Elsa, and was now living a carefree slow life.
Of course, even though he had handed over the magical castle, he still often visited his son’s home. After all, it was the castle he had originally created, so he felt no need to be reserved. He only did so to give his son and daughter-in-law a peaceful place to live.
As for where he built his new home, surprisingly for such an eccentric man, it was in an ordinary corner of a rather mundane town. This town, belonging to the magical nation of Rulans, was governed by a human, Viscount Rador, and was just an averagely prosperous town.
One notable aspect of this town was that, unlike the rest of the multi-racial and multi-species Rulans Kingdom, it was ruled by a human. Another was that the Viscount, inspired by the heroic adventurers who once rose to save the world, believed in the need for adventurers’ contributions in the future and actively encouraged and supported them.
Apart from these points, it was a rather unremarkable town with no special products or features. However, this very ordinariness brought stability, and the lack of prominent dangers was something to be appreciated.
Incidentally, the Gaius family also lived here and frequently interacted with the low-class demon’s family. It was likely that they had moved to this town specifically to maintain this relationship.
Living a slow life with his wife and child, blending in with the general populace, the low-class demon was currently troubled by a minor issue.
“Hey, Ekina! You snuck into the lord’s treasure vault again! How many times do I have to tell you not to use alchemy for mischief?!”
“Hmph! It’s their fault for having such weak security that I could break in! I’m not the one to blame!”
Despite being scolded by her father, Kakyu, the half-elf, half-demon daughter Ekina showed no signs of remorse, sticking out her tongue in defiance.
At five years old, her transformations were still immature, and she couldn’t hide the miniature horns and wings that marked her demon heritage as she ran around the house.
Though Kakyu could catch her anytime he wanted, he found it hard to scold her seriously. Her silver hair, inherited from her mother Elsa, swayed cutely as she ran, making him want to play with her a little longer.
Ever since raising his son, he knew he was a complete doting parent. To be honest, Ekina knew her father would never truly scold her and played around even more because of it.
Despite her young age, she was a mischievous, clever, and bold little devil. She had clearly inherited the traits of her father, the most fearsome low-class demon and number two in the underworld.
However, this frivolous game of chase would soon come to an end. The real trouble was about to arrive.
” Ekina, stand still.”
“Yikes!? Mom?!”
“Humph!”
“Owww!!!”
Suddenly, Elsa, her mother, appeared silently from behind, grabbed Ekina by the scruff of her neck, and spanked her as punishment for her mischief. For this little troublemaker, her mother was her only true nemesis.
Understanding that her husband was too lenient with their daughter to be of any help, Elsa had accepted that he would play the role of the good cop while she would be the bad cop. Despite having some low-class demon blood, Ekina was still just a five-year-old girl.
As the world’s top assassin, Elsa easily subdued her daughter, who had no choice but to quietly accept her punishment. Not that it would make her reflect on her actions.
Kakyu, her father, scratched his cheek, looking resigned. “It worked with Ars, but maybe we’ve given her too much freedom,” he reflected, realizing he might have been too lax in her upbringing.
Despite this, her exceptional education continued to show. Her ability to sneak into the heavily guarded treasure vault of the lord’s mansion with ease demonstrated that she had inherited her parents’ abilities fully.
Using her mother’s assassination techniques, Ekina could evade the guards’ awareness and move stealthily. With her father’s alchemy skills, she could treat the treasure vault’s locks as nonexistent. The problem was how she used these abilities. In these fields, she might even be more talented than her heroic brother, Ars.
After a thorough scolding, Elsa made Ekina sit in front of her and began yet another lecture. Ekina’s elfin ears drooped, a trait inherited from her mother, as she listened to what felt like endless scolding.
“Why can’t you distinguish between right and wrong? I’ve told you countless times that stealing is forbidden. When Ars was your age…”
As her mother’s lecture droned on, Ekina’s ears drooped further, but she had her own perspective.
“That’s not it, Mom! I was just curious about what the treasure vault was like, so I went for a walk and peeked inside! I didn’t steal anything! Ask Dad!”
When Elsa glanced at Kakyu, he quietly made a circle with his arms, confirming that Ekina was telling the truth.
However, that wasn’t the issue.
“Is that your only excuse?”
“Uh!”
“Do you think you can distract me with such an argument? Ten more spanks for that.”
“No way!!!”
After being spanked until she was in tears, Ekina wandered the streets, muttering things like “Mom is strong…” and “Maybe it’s okay if it’s not the treasure vault?” showing she still didn’t understand why she was being scolded.
After thinking it over, she eventually muttered, “Maybe if I do something even more amazing, Mom and Dad will praise me. I’ll invite Fladalia and Abel next time.”
And so, five years after that final decisive battle, a new story was about to unfold in the town of Rador, governed by Viscount Rador.
