Reincarnated as the Villain Who Experiments on Orphanage Kids – Why Are the Test Subject Girls Begging Me for "Night Experiments"? - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Begged For Experiments
I decided to go over the original story again from scratch.
The R18 game “Replica of the Holy Sword ~The Brides Chosen by the Sword in the Knight Academy~” is a tale centered around the Holy Sword, the weapon that once defeated the Demon King.
Its genre mixes academy love comedy with fantasy. Basically, it follows the protagonist and the heroines growing together through friendly rivalry inside the academy.
It has two main pillars: classic academy love-comedy elements and serious sword battles.
The synopsis goes like this.
——This world is ruled by the Holy Sword.
In a world where monsters roam free, the Holy Sword is said to be the ultimate weapon that can cut down any monster, and it holds absolute power.
But only chosen humans can wield it.
The one who uses it is called the Knight King, marries into the royal family, and carries the fate of protecting the world.
Young people gather at the academy aiming to become knights, and they fight with replicas of the Holy Sword to measure their aptitude.
However, in the last fifty years, not a single person capable of holding the Holy Sword has appeared.
Then one day, a single boy enrolls at the academy.
——His name is Force.
The boy who aims to become the strongest knight meets his companions, faces many trials together with the heroines, and changes their fate.
That’s pretty much how it goes.
And the one who was working as a scientist in the organization secretly plotting to steal the Holy Sword was me—Madd Sai the scientist.
In other words, this world is definitely not at peace. In fact, the country is getting dragged into a vortex of chaos.
And of course, the experiments aren’t anything good. They’re inhumane acts, and in the original game they were the worst kind that left tons of players traumatized.
That’s why no one should ever come begging for such experiments… but here we are.
※
“Please… do experiments on me!”
Late at night. The time when most people would be sound asleep.
Under the moonlight that was the only thing lighting up the surroundings, that voice rang out surprisingly clear.
“…………Huh?”
I stayed frozen on top of my bed, looking down at the girl right in front of me.
Priere had suddenly barged into my room, and then, with her eyes all watery, she started begging me for experiments.
I was so confused by the whole situation that I had no idea what to do.
But at the very least I knew this was a bad idea. So I made her stand up and spoke to her like I was gently scolding her.
“I’m not doing any experiments, okay?”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m the type who doesn’t do human experiments.”
I had no clue what kind of experiment she was even talking about.
But if she meant what happened five years ago, I really wanted her to forget about it right away.
The me right now had zero intention of turning Priere into a monster. I had no interest in human experiments, and more importantly, she was one of my precious kids from the orphanage.
It would be a problem if she didn’t end up happy.
“I…”
But she looked obviously unhappy.
No, it felt more like disappointment than just unhappiness.
Either way, she wasn’t going to accept it obediently.
Because she pressed a hand to her chest, leaned her face in close, and said,
“I’ve been waiting for this the whole time. I spent all these years looking forward to getting experiments once I became an adult. That was the only thing I was excited about.”
“Only that?”
“Only that! Everything else was just small stuff.”
She said it with a serious look in her eyes.
There wasn’t a hint of joking in her voice. Priere had probably been living seriously looking forward to human experiments.
“I hate kids like you who are crazy about experiments.”
“…Y-you hate me?”
The moment I muttered that without thinking, her eyes went wide. Then her face twisted up obviously.
There was no light in the depths of her eyes. In a flat tone she asked calmly,
“Hate me? You hate me? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate? Hate?”
“No, that’s not it. I like you. Saying I hate you was just a joke. Of course I like you.”
“S-Sai?! Suddenly proposing like that… Well, I am an adult now so we could get married, but people usually say it’s still too early, and I still have things I need to do, so having kids right away would be bad…”
I tried to follow up quickly, but it looked like she had completely misunderstood and her face turned bright red.
“But not getting married even though we can goes against my principles, so how about we start dating with marriage in mind?”
“Um… this is kinda hard to say, but when I said I like you, I didn’t mean it that way. I like you as family. We’ve been living together for five whole years now. We’re family, y’know? Family.”
“……………………”
“Family is the best, right?”
When I tried to emphasize the family part, she shot me a really intense glare. The girl whose face had been bright red just a moment ago was gone.
She pouted her lips in dissatisfaction, then grabbed both of my shoulders and said,
“My feelings are all messed up right now. Is it okay if I go a little crazy?”
“Is going crazy something you have to announce first?”
“……………………”
Without saying anything, she leaned her face closer.
Her breath brushed against me, and while I was wrapped in her sweet scent, I desperately tried to think.
——This is bad.
If things kept going like this, it felt like Priere was going to make me do experiments on her.
No, I’m the one who would be doing the experiments, so I don’t even know what I’m saying, but she probably wouldn’t be satisfied with some small experiment.
Besides, what kind of experiment would even satisfy her?
There isn’t one, right? There’s no way a test subject would ever be satisfied with an experiment.
And it’s even more impossible for a test subject to come begging for experiments.
Damn it. Time to run.
“Sai?!”
“Gotta use the bathroom real quick.”
Having decided to escape, I forcibly pulled her hands off me and walked out of the room like nothing had happened.
As soon as I closed the door, I broke into a full sprint.
“Please wait! I still haven’t gotten any experiments!”
Priere’s shouting voice came from behind me, but I didn’t look back.
By the way, you’re not supposed to run in the orphanage hallways.
Even so, I ran with everything I had. I ran seriously.
This was the skill I had gained after five years living in the orphanage.
But Priere was also a five-year veteran of the orphanage, so…
“I won’t let you get away, okay?”
“Ugh…”
A chase was pretty much inevitable.
