Reincarnated as a Dungeon Master, I Became Unstoppable by Doting on My Monsters—My Gorgeous Monsters Have Started to Conquer the World on Their Own! - Chapter 5: The Decision of Fate
After the battle had calmed, I sat down beside the corpse of the MagiBull. Then, I spoke to it.
“I’m sorry. I promise your life won’t be wasted.”
Thirteen monsters had gathered around the MagiBull’s head. It didn’t look like they were eating it, but they seemed to absorb magical or life energy. However, all 13 had focused on one spot, not dividing the body parts amongst themselves.
Watching this scene reminded me of something from my past. As a child, I thought rhinoceros beetles were kind and strong, so I had two as pets. I gave them two jellies. Instead of each taking one, they started fighting over a single jelly.
Seeing this, the young me felt an indescribable dread, as if I had glimpsed the shallowness of living creatures.
…But now, I am different. I guided a few of the monsters towards the MagiBull’s leg.
“Each of you eat from a different place.”
Once moved, those monsters obediently started absorbing the magical energy from that spot. It seemed my intentions got through to them.
That’s right. From now on, all the knowledge they’ll need, I can teach them. Now that I’ve increased their parameters, communication is also possible. If I teach them well and enhance their parameters, they should become fine…what’s the word? Fine monsters.
Moreover, I’ve already killed a single bull-like creature in this world. Having done that, I can’t back out now.
I thought about the future as I watched the tiny monsters swarming over the corpse. Ah, I need to close the dungeon. What else should I do? Damn, I can’t think straight.
As I was lost in thought, I heard a rustling sound. I looked to the side and saw Rozina, a dragonkin monster that looked like a lizard, holding my pendant in its mouth.
“Did you pick up the one I dropped? Thanks, Rozina.”
I opened the pendant’s charm and thanked the Goddess Navalbi.
“Goddess Navalbi, the Goddess of Birth and Revelation. I don’t know why you summoned me to this land, but I intend to protect the 13 monsters I’ve created here until they grow up.”
That’s when I realized.
“…Goddess of Revelation?”
The words slipped from my mouth before I could think.
Could it be that Goddess Navalbi is trying to convey something to me through some means? Indeed, even on ancient Earth, goddesses granted revelations in such a way.
Driven by that thought, I opened the Core.
“Item Identification, no. Monster Identification, no. Ah, here it is!”
I used all the remaining DP to acquire the “Priest” skill from my Master Enhancement Skills. Immediately, I prepared to activate “Revelation Decoding” and envisioned the chant.
“‘The flickering flame of a candle, the face of a newborn, a flock of birds.’ ‘The world is full of teachings!'”
Activating the skill, my vision turned slightly blue. It resembled the color of the magical light I saw in the Dungeon Core. I must be seeing magic.
Then, I opened the pendant while maintaining that vision and looked at the picture inside.
“Aha! I get it! Truly, you’re a Goddess of Revelation. Your intentions have been entirely communicated.”
The picture elicited genuine laughter from me. In it was a graceful older woman around 70 years old, smiling next to a gentle-looking, more aged man. Below them stood a happy, adorable little girl. Anyone could tell—this was a family photo of Goddess Navalbi.
The expression on the elderly woman’s face seemed to say, “You finally noticed, didn’t you?” I would be oblivious if she had been sending me revelations all along.
Ah, it’s been 5,000 years since the era when Goddess Navalbi was worshipped. I had been fixated on her youthful depictions in ancient murals. She must’ve been troubled, too. I fell for her based on her young picture.
“Now, I can finally un-fall in love. Thank you. You even have a husband and a daughter. I’ve been insulting.”
To think that even a goddess, a being generally out of reach, would go as far as to refuse a relationship with me—I must be a truly fortunate man.
“Now, I finally understand why Goddess Navalbi has summoned me to this world. The feelings I had for Goddess Navalbi were indeed love. But that love ended before it even started.”
I gaze at the 13 monsters whom I vowed to educate appropriately.
“That’s why the Goddess tells me to find a new way of life. And she believes that the answer lies in being a Dungeon Master.”
I feel something warm inside my chest, as if puzzle pieces are clicking into place.
“I get it now. I am indeed enjoying myself. I’m experiencing their growth and contemplating a limitless future. And I strongly believe that I must repay the trust they’ve shown by risking their lives.”
They trusted their lives to me during the re-contracting. Therefore, I must protect them until the very end, until the flame of life burns out.
“Goddess Navalbi, you saved me twice. The first time was when I thought I was defective, and you showed me your divine form in a mural. Your beauty and divinity saved me. The second time is now, as you have given me a purpose and place as an educator of these monsters.”
My desire to experience love had been a lingering regret, but now that my love has concluded, I’m free to find a new purpose.
“I swear here and now, I will raise these 13 summoned monsters into women as magnificent as Goddess Navalbi. If there are more goddesses like you, more people can be saved, and more happiness can be delivered.”
Until yesterday, I might have doubted whether this could be possible in a facility designed to kill, like a dungeon. But after overcoming today’s intense battle and confirming my bond with my monsters, I’m convinced it’s possible.
I made a solemn vow to the pendant, kneeling and holding one hand in front of my nose, mimicking the gestures of old prayers dedicated to the god Navalbi rather than the traditional Japanese prayers I had been accustomed to.
“Navalbi-sama, if there’s anything I can do, I will do it. I offer you everything I have. I would be honored if you could watch over me.”
This was the utmost gratitude and sincerity from the bottom of my heart. However, after hanging the pendant around my neck, I felt a squishy sensation.
“Huh?”
I realized the pendant pierced my skin and embedded itself into my chest. The charm then began to emit a faint light and was fully embedded in the center of both sides of my chest. Strangely, there was no blood, and the charm could still be opened and closed, but the chain part had wholly disappeared inside my body. As I was bewildered, an announcement echoed in my mind.
+++
A contract has been established.
You have become a follower of Navalbi.
In exchange, you have gained the protection of Navalbi.

Though Navalbi was supposed to be a goddess of Earth, for some reason, the contract was successful. Maybe this world has some connection? As for the contract’s content, it’s probably about my willingness to do anything and offer everything I have. Well, my life is originally a gift from Navalbi, so there’s nothing to lose.
My only concern was how a future lover might react to a photo of an unfamiliar woman embedded in my chest.
“Alright, now that the goal is set, it’s time for action!”
I stood up and called out to the monsters.
“Everyone gather around! First things first, let’s introduce ourselves! Watch closely as I show you an example.”
Beast tribe’s Saryu Crowfoot
Plant tribe’s Rosarosa Vincy
Insect tribe’s Biondetta Gavanes

This event marked the day these 13 monsters became my purpose and meaning in life.
◆◆
In an organization known for dungeons created to kill humans, these monsters were created for the same purpose. I raised them to be the complete opposite, to serve a goddess. If there were one miscalculation, it would be that the reason why Goddess Navalbi summoned me to this world had nothing to do with any goddess-raising plan or any meaning for my life. She needed a pawn for war.
Because of that, I ended up getting entangled in endless warfare… But that’s a story for another time.
