Chapter 24.5 – Meanwhile, Kohaku’s Perspective

I chased after Natsu and Miko-chan.

I don’t doubt their relationship anymore. But my brain can’t keep up with it.

I mean, After he declared, “I’m going to find a cute girlfriend for sure.” Then right after that, he told us that he got a girlfriend, what’s more, she also got such huge boobs. Who wouldn’t think he did it to compete with my breasts, right?

I walked up the stairs and was about to turn the corner, but stopped at that moment.

Because Natsu and Miko-chan had stopped walking.

As I peeked at them from the landing, I saw that she apologized to Natsuhiko.

Apparently, she was feeling sorry for yelling at us in our classroom.

What an idiot. There was really no need to worry about that.

I mean, we were the ones who should apologize.

Hmmm… I wondered if it would be better if I, who suspected her the most, should apologize to her right now…?

I ain’t gonna apologize to Natsu because he created this confusion in the first place.

Okay, I fired up my spirit and was about to take a step forward.

However, I had to stop again.

“I’m sorry that you’ve to worry because of me. But you shouldn’t. Everything is fine now.”

Natsu reassured her…

“It’s not like everyone in my class was suspicious of me because they hate me. They were just too surprised that I have such a pretty girlfriend like you. So, no one should be offended by something like that, and especially not Kohaku— you know the girl with the Kansai dialect, so don’t worry about it.”

Natsuhiko continued.

“Yeah. She’s manly and tough, but she’s the friend who understands me the most. I’m the most confused because she understands so much though,”

It was as if he had seen right through me, it was a little embarrassing.

“… As expected of Natsu. You know exactly what I was talking about.”

I’m a little annoyed though I seem to be a bad guy, I’m more than happy.

I really think he’s so good-natured that he deserves a “D”.

He even covered for us, even though we were suspicious of him so much.

“I’m going to do my best so that everyone will believe that I’m the perfect boyfriend for you.”

I screamed in a whisper without thinking, “What the heck is this mob character saying?”, But I felt a strong desire to support him.

Natsu is my best friend and my benefactor. He was the only one who kept giving me a hand when I was an outcast.

And as a friend, I was honestly happy.

Natsu has a habit of being cautious and reserved about his surroundings. He tends not to put himself first.

But now he is saying that he is going to make an effort to change. He said he wants to change.

As a friend, I have mixed feelings about his sudden change in attitude toward the girl he met yesterday.

But my mixed feelings were blown away as Miko-chan embraced him tightly.

“Ara~Ara~ So I was right, that girl is too bold regardless of her appearance~”

Though it is a good reason to tease her, I’ve already said something bad to her, so I’m gonna stay quiet for now.

“Well… Let’s get back to class.”

Even though Natsu was confusing, it was my fault for starting the fire. I have to work hard to put out the fire in class.

I didn’t want to “congratulate” them head-on because it would be embarrassing.

But, I could at least “wish for them to have a happy and fulfilling life” in secret, right?
