Non-Human Girls Are Fighting Over Me ~ Do I Get to Refuse? “Nope!” “No Way!” “Not a Chance!” “Absolutely Not!” - Chapter 60 & 61
Chapter 60: Wife Moves (Wednesday)
“Come on, wake up. It’s morning, breakfast is ready.”
My blanket was gently shaken, and I opened my eyes.
In my field of vision was Mio, wearing an apron over her school uniform.
“Oh… good morning.”
“How long are you going to sleep? Geez… Hurry up and get ready, or you’ll be late.”
With that, Mio headed downstairs.
As I descended the stairs, I found both Aki and Mio in the kitchen.
It seemed they’d split the tasks to prepare breakfast.
On the table were rice, miso soup, salt-grilled salmon, and spinach ohitashi.
“Let’s eat~”
The three of us clapped our hands together, and breakfast began.
“You two, could you keep it down at night? I’m sleep-deprived as it is,” Aki grumbled.
Then came another jab.
“Also, I overslept, so today’s bento is the same as breakfast. Salmon bento, got it? No complaints.”
“Yes…” I mumbled.
“Yeah…” Mio echoed.
I noticed three bento boxes lined up on the counter.
“That one’s yours! Obviously, wash the bento box properly before returning it, okay?” Aki said pointedly to Mio.
“Y-Yeah… sorry,” Mio muttered, awkwardly averting her eyes.
“Even so, Aki pretty much made most of this breakfast…” Mio whispered.
“Really? Thanks, Aki-chan,” I said sincerely.
“It’s about time you dropped the ‘-chan,’ don’t you think? Being the only one called ‘Aki-chan’ feels kinda distant,” Aki said, her gaze piercing me.
“Yeah, got it… Aki.”
“Well, that’s fine then. Hehe.”
Aki struck a smug pose, clearly pleased.
※
And so, Wednesday morning began.
I wondered if another predictable chaos awaited us tonight.
※
After school, at the Ienari household.
“I’m home~”
As I opened the front door, a cheerful voice called from deeper inside.
“Oh, you’re back~ Welcome home~!”
Of course, it was Aki.
This routine was starting to feel like second nature, and it was oddly comforting.
“Yeah, I’m home~”
As I started taking off my shoes, a barrage of reminders hit me.
“Hey, you didn’t line up your shoes, did you? You can at least do that yourself, right?
Also, you forgot to take out the trash today. That’s your job. You’re not a kid, so don’t make me remind you every time.”
She was in full-on housewife mode.
“Yes…” I could only nod.
“Whatever, dinner’s ready.”
On the table were rice, miso soup, hamburger steak, potato salad, and vegetable soup.
As I bit into the hamburger steak, the juices burst in my mouth, making the rice irresistible.
(…This is bad. I really might not be able to live without Aki.)
“Hehe, you just thought, ‘This is bad, I really might not be able to live without Aki,’ didn’t you?” Aki pointed at me triumphantly.
“Huh… how’d you know?”
“Hmph, woman’s intuition. Also, it’s written all over your face. —Hehe, go ahead and drown in me!”
Aki puffed out her chest, snorting proudly.
※
Eight o’clock at night.
“Sorry, I’m sleepy from all these late nights… I’m going to bed.”
“I’ll join you soon, so go ahead and sleep.”
It was a conversation straight out of a married couple’s playbook.
※
And so, Wednesday drew to a close, colored by more “wife moves.”
Tomorrow, no doubt, would bring more of the same predictable continuation.
Chapter 61: Inception
Midnight, just past 12 a.m.
Aki felt a cold shiver deep in her chest and snapped awake.
“…What’s this? I’ve got a bad feeling.”
She glanced at the clock: 12:05 a.m.
Normally, this was the time “Riri” would show up.
Looking beside her, Kazuto was sleeping soundly, peacefully.
His sleeping face—
“Mufufu… hehehe…”
—was accompanied by oddly cheerful sleep-talking.
“…Could it be?!”
A jolt ran down Aki’s spine.
※
After school, at the Ienari household.
“I’m home~”
As Kazuto opened the front door, the usual voice called back from inside.
“Oh, you’re back~ Welcome home~!”
Greeting him was “Riri,” wearing a high school uniform with an apron.
Her soft smile. The warm routine.
—This was already becoming the “world” that felt normal.
“Yeah, I’m home.”
“Dinner’s ready, so wash your hands and change, okay?”
The natural, homely gesture warmed Kazuto’s heart.
But a casual remark slipped from his mouth, cracking the “dream.”
“Today was rough at club. Mio, Towa, and Aki were arguing…”
Riri tilted her head, then laughed.
“Huh? Who are they? No one like that’s at our school. Did you have a weird dream or something? Hehe.”
“…Huh, yeah, you’re right. Why’d I say that…?”
His memories grew hazy.
The Riri in front of him felt undeniably like the “correct world.”
“Seriously, you’re so weird, Kazuto. But, you know, our ‘student marriage’ is a secret at school, okay?”
“Right. We’d get expelled if they found out.”
“Exactly!” Riri said with a beaming smile.
Her expression was the perfect picture of a “wife.”
“Oh, right, I got down on my knees to propose. Sorry about that.”
“Ugh… it’s fine. I thought you were kinda weird when you asked, but what could I do? You were so serious about it… I guess I gave in.”
“Having an amazing wife like you makes me the luckiest guy in the world.”
“Hehe, you’re so honest. —Well, just stick with me from now on. I’m the only one who really cares about you. Don’t let other girls fool you—”
“Hold it right there!!!”
A shrill voice cut through the air.
Standing there was—Aki.
“…Why are you here? This place is supposed to be just for me and Kazuto,” Riri said, her voice dropping low.
Aki crossed her arms, glaring coldly.
“Hah, did you forget I’m the ‘top-tier succubus’?”
“Tch… don’t ruin the moment.”
“Ruin? You’re brainwashing Kazuto in this dream, aren’t you?”
“Don’t make it sound so bad! I’m just showing him the ‘truth’!”
“How shameless can you get? What are you even saying?!”
“It’s not a lie! We’re really going to have a student marriage!”
Riri raised her voice like a petulant child.
“Huh?! What are you planting in his head? You can’t get married until you’re 18! For both guys and girls!”
“Don’t sweat the details! Besides, you’re just in love with Kazuto too, aren’t you?!”
“That’s a completely different matter!!”
In the dream world, the two succubi faced off, sparks flying between them.
