Non-Human Girls Are Fighting Over Me ~ Do I Get to Refuse? “Nope!” “No Way!” “Not a Chance!” “Absolutely Not!” - Chapter 52 & 53
Chapter 52: Crossroads
—One hour after the chaos at Shidou Clinic.
A park at dusk. A cool breeze rustled through as two figures sat side by side on a bench.
Kazuto, shoulders slumped, murmured,
“So… in a past life, Aki-chan, you were my wife.”
Aki, beside him, frowned, quick to deny.
“No way. I was Samael’s wife… not you. I’m still Samael’s wife.”
Her tone was sharp, but beneath it wavered an unsteady emotion.
“But, like… all that stuff earlier.
Towa, Mio, Riri—they do that to you, and you’re fine with it? They’ve put you through some hardcore crap.
Be a man and stand up for yourself. You’re part of Samael, after all. Step up.”
Aki’s words carried a lecturing edge.
But Kazuto just flashed a carefree smile and shrugged.
“Well, what can you do?”
In that moment—
A memory of Samael linked in his mind.
—“Well, can’t be helped. Haha!”
Aki’s heart echoed with a familiar voice.
(Come to think of it, we used to mess with Samael too… and every time, he’d say that…)
“What’s that…? You’re such an idiot.”
She turned away, cheeks flushing.
But Kazuto looked at her with honest eyes.
“Nice. Feels like I’m finally talking to the real Aki-chan. That was pretty cool just now.”
“Huh… ugh… stop it. Hehe…”
She laughed to brush it off.
(What’s with this guy… he’s kinda nice. Samael was like this too, wasn’t he, even when the other wives messed with him…)
To shake off the awkwardness, Aki sprang up.
“Kazuto, you owe me, right? Fine, I’ll let you pay me back.
How about a date right now?”
“Sure, sounds good. My stomach’s settled, and I’m starving. Wanna grab something?”
“Huh? I missed lunch because of you, you know. I’m starving.
And you’re paying, obviously!”
“There’s this café nearby with a ‘super giant parfait.’
It’s called the ‘Demon Parfait,’ served in a bucket. Wanna try it? Probably over 7,000 calories.”
“I’m a legit demon, you know? That’s nothing.
I’ll eat yours too. Hehe…”
(Our first teamwork since I got here… Samael.)
But—the “Demon Parfait” was a notorious menu item that sent couples to hell.
When it arrived, their faces paled.
At least ten scoops of ice cream. Hidden beneath, ten waffles.
And chocolate bars stabbed in like tombstones.
“We’re… really eating this!?”
“Couples who finish it are destined to be together. Good luck.”
The owner left with an eerie smile.
(Alright… we’re doing this. Yup…)
They gripped their spoons and dug in silently.
—One hour later.
After immense struggle, they finished.
They never wanted to see sweets again… that’s how serious it was.
“We did it! We actually did it!”
“Yeah… we nailed it, us.”
They laughed, high-fiving.
In that moment, a passing couple-service worker snapped a commemorative photo.
—The picture shone like a perfect lovers’ two-shot.
And so, the next day, Kazuto unsurprisingly missed school.
The cause, of course—“overeating.”
Chapter 53: Devil’s Restaurant
A few days later, on a Sunday.
In the Aikava family’s living room, Towa, Mio, and Kazuto gathered.
Levi, lounging on a long sofa, spoke in her usual tone.
“Everyone’s here. Shall we get going?
They’ve so kindly arranged a ‘meet-and-greet’ and ‘rule explanation.’
Well, the meal’s on them, so let’s enjoy it.
…And if anything happens, Hubby’s ready to swoop in.
He’s on standby elsewhere, so don’t worry.”
Almost as she finished, several black cars lined up outside the Aikava house.
Not quite limousines, but their stately presence exuded undeniable “class.”
The high schoolers wore uniforms, Riri a black formal dress.
Levi, in a long black dress, radiated a calm aura.
They looked like guests invited to an aristocratic banquet—and boarded the cars.
※
The convoy passed through residential streets, downtown, and into the suburbs.
Soon, a grand stone mansion came into view.
Its air of cultural significance, manicured Western garden, and central fountain—
The serene yet imposing scene drew them into a “special space.”
The doors opened, and they stepped out.
A doorman bowed, opening the mansion’s doors to reveal a red carpet, polished furnishings, and gold-framed paintings.
The refined space evoked the eve of a grand ball.
“This way, please.”
Guided by a waiter, they approached a heavy door—beyond it, a round table awaited.
Several men and women were already seated.
Two men in suits, four women in formal attire.
At the center sat—Demon King Satan and Saintess Seraphina.
The “subjugation team” had already assembled.
But all appeared human.
“Glad you made it~ Today’s just a meet-and-greet. Can’t just barge into your place, right?”
Satan laughed heartily.
His smile was friendly, yet it hid sharp fangs.
He glanced at Riri, scratching his head sheepishly.
“Riri-chan, sorry about last time. Your old man was a bit tactless.”
“…Don’t bring it up.”
Riri’s voice carried a small barb.
“Honestly, you’re still like that.”
Levi interjected with an exasperated look.
Satan laughed awkwardly, turning to Kazuto.
“And you’re Kazuto-kun, huh? Today’s star. Been wanting to meet you~ Been keeping tabs on you for a while.”
“Yes. Nice to meet you, I’m Kazuto Ienari. Please, take care of me.”
Kazuto straightened, bowing politely.
Satan and Seraphina exchanged a glance.
—As if to say, (He’s… kinda normal).
Amid the atmosphere, Drako, in a suit, studied Kazuto with a serious gaze.
Beside him sat Aki in her uniform.
Next to her, the tall, red-haired Aurelia, in a formal pantsuit, sat with arms crossed.
And finally—Izolde, the red-haired witch in a black high-neck dress, stood quietly.
Levi, Towa, Mio, and Riri—the Aikava defenders—took their seats at the table.
The odd mix of uniforms and formalwear felt like neither a business deal nor a wedding rehearsal, but something far more precarious.
Satan raised his glass lightly, tapping the table with a pop.
“Like I said, it’s a meet-and-greet, so feel free to pick your opponents. Like a chemistry match, yeah?”
Without a toast, waiters served drinks—a ritual to ease tension, but here, mere socializing wouldn’t cut it.
Satan grinned, starting introductions.
“Might be tough to dine with folks you’ll fight, so let’s dig in.
For the record, beside me is one of our mediators, Saintess Seraphina.
Then, our leader, Drako. Followed by Agrat, Aurelia, and Izolde. No more personal details—can’t show our hand too much.”
Seraphina smiled, but her eyes were cold, calculating.
Drako glanced at Kazuto, Aurelia gave a brief look, lips tight.
Izolde inhaled her cigarette, exhaling as her gaze wandered.
Satan continued.
“You lot, we already know. No need for intros.”
Levi smirked, tossing a pointed remark.
“So, when’s it happening?”
Satan crossed his arms, answering in a leisurely Kansai drawl.
“How ‘bout next Saturday, 8 p.m.? We’ll set up a pocket dimension around your school. A replica of an empty town. Want it bleaker?”
Levi furrowed her brow, wanting tactical details.
“I’ll leave it to you. What about Kazuto-kun?”
Satan’s face turned briefly serious—then he grinned.
“The subjugation team’s win condition is capturing or killing Kazuto-kun. That’s it. For Levi-chan’s side, it’s protecting him and repelling or wiping out the subjugation team…”
His words froze the table’s air. Everyone grasped the game’s rules and stakes.
“Just wait in the classroom of the pocket dimension’s school. Don’t want you fleeing too far—that’d force the organization to hunt you down.”
Towa cut in sharply.
“Kazuto, leave it to me. I’ll stick by your side.”
Riri bounced up, puffing her chest.
“No, it’s gotta be Riri! I’ll protect you if anything happens.”
Mio stated coolly, showcasing her skills.
“With this lineup, I’m the best fit. I can handle healing to offense, all-round.”
Each gaze fixed on Kazuto, laced with rivalry and a fleeting “wife battle” tension. The women’s intensity nearly made Kazuto laugh, but he swallowed it.
Satan watched the exchange with amusement, then asked Levi.
“Your team’s got its hands full keeping it together, huh?”
