Non-Human Girls Are Fighting Over Me ~ Do I Get to Refuse? “Nope!” “No Way!” “Not a Chance!” “Absolutely Not!” - Chapter 26 & 27
Chapter 26: Yandere, Mentally Unstable Witch
Spending time with Mio made me realize something anew.
Once her “emotional walls” come down, she’s unbelievably clingy, quick to cry, sulk, and throw tantrums.
—Less an Immortal Witch and more just an “attention-seeker.” But her cuteness and destructive power are terrifying in a way entirely separate from the fear of eternal life.
“Mmm… I can’t get up.”
Rolling around in the covers, Mio looks up at me.
“A witch can’t start the day without a morning ritual. Hurry up with the morning kiss.”
(…What did she do when she lived alone? No, I shouldn’t say that. Gotta play along…)
With a small sigh, I gently kiss her cheek.
“Mmm~♡ So happy!”
Mio instantly beams, wriggling in the covers.
Even during changing time, she makes a fuss, as expected.
“Ugh… why can’t I change? Is this the curse of immortality? Hey, my clothes are in that drawer. Grab them! Then dress me!”
“Uh… that’s underwear…”
(No way, I’m still a high schooler, do it yourself!)
I hold firm, handing her only the clothes and turning away. The giggles from behind make it clear she’s teasing me.
It’s the same at breakfast.
“Why! Why can’t I bring the bread to my mouth? Is this a vampire’s curse!? Sorry, Kazuto. Tear it and feed me. Say ‘ahh.’ Or… you could feed me mouth-to-mouth.”
“Calm down. You can eat normally, right?”
Even as I say it, I end up tearing the bread and holding it out.
“Here, ‘ahh.’”
“…Ahh. …Mmm~♡ Delicious.”
(…My heart’s about to combust.)
When we’re relaxing in the living room, she’s always glued to me.
“Hehe, today you’re my body pillow.”
She rests her head on my shoulder, deliberately pressing her ample chest against me.
“Mmm, comfy, comfy.”
(I’m not comfy at all…)
On the sofa, sandwiched by her warmth and scent, I struggle to hide my racing heart.
The clincher—bathroom time.
“Listen, Kazuto. I’m going to pick some flowers now.”
“…Huh?”
“If something happened to you in this room, I’d be in trouble, so come with me to the bathroom. Wait outside the door. And cover your ears.”
(You said bathroom… if I cover my ears, how am I supposed to help if something happens!?)
…We’re totally acting like an idiot couple, aren’t we?
I know I’m indulging her. But when she makes that face, I don’t think anyone could say no.
—Yandere, mentally unstable, and utterly lovable witch.
Terrifying, but too cute.
Even as she drags me around, part of me thinks, “I wouldn’t mind if this lasted forever.”
Sunday afternoon.
The weather was mild, with soft sunlight streaming through the window, creating a lazy, relaxed atmosphere.
That’s when I made the biggest mistake of the week.
I opened my phone and casually checked RINE.
The sender: Towa.
Towa: How’s it going? If you get fed up, let me know. I’ll deal with the witch.
Me: Thanks for checking in. I’m having fun.
Towa: See you Monday then♡
Me: See you Monday
—Sent.
At that moment, I was completely unaware of Mio’s gaze beside me.
…And the next instant.
“—WHAAAAAT!?!?”
The air exploded.
“Are you kidding me!? You’ve got your lover right here, and you’re RINE-ing another girl!? You’re making me anxious!! Are you stupid!? What’s wrong with you!!”
Her eyes are terrifying. Dark. Too dark. The “dead eyes” type, full-on.
Oh, I’m dead. That’s murderous intent.
I was made to kneel on the floor.
Around my neck hung a placard reading:
“I’m the worst guy who RINEs other girls despite having a fiancée.”
This is straight-up public execution, right!?
“Got anything to say?”
Mio glares down at me. A cold stare. No, this is an interrogation.
“Yes, I’m deeply sorry. I won’t do it again.”
“Hmm… I can’t quite hear you~ One more time♡”
(You definitely heard me!?)
“Yes, I’m deeply sorry! I won’t do it again!!”
“Hmm… I don’t feel the sincerity. No ‘special vibe,’ you know? Nothing about ‘trampling the feelings of your beloved’ or anything?”
She’s totally making me say it…
“I was thoughtless, not considering the feelings of my beloved Mio. I won’t do it again. I’m sorry.”
Then she pats my head, smiling like she’s soothing a child.
“You can say it, huh? Not bad for a romance newbie. Fine, I’ll forgive you.”
—The next moment, her eyes lose all light.
“But there won’t be a next time.”
Her voice was ice-cold. My spine froze solid.
“Let’s make this clear.
From Monday to Thursday, send me a RINE every hour. Got it? Otherwise, I’ll get anxious. …Ideally, every 15 minutes, but you have classes, so I’ll let it slide. I’m nice, right?”
Her eyes aren’t smiling. Not at all.
Is this a joke? Please say it’s a joke! Come on, say it!
“And I won’t forgive cheating. That vampire… well, I’ll let it slide for now. But other girls? Absolutely not. If you cheat… I’ll cut off your limbs and lock you in this room forever. Got it? Don’t make me do that, okay?”
…Uh, yes.
My body turned to ice in an instant. Her eyes scream she’s dead serious.
Yeah, I won’t cheat. Absolutely not.
Suddenly, Mio bursts into tears.
“Ugh… ugh… I’m sorry, I’m sorry. You hate a girl like this, right… But I can’t help it, I get so anxious. I’m sorry… sorry…”
“It’s okay. I’m happy you care this much.”
The words slip out before I can stop them. Mio looks up, her face lighting up with a radiant smile.
“…Right♡ I’m your wife, after all. I’ll work on fixing this bit by bit.”
(…Wait, when did we go from ‘fiancée’ to ‘wife’?)
Then she hugs me tightly, and I can’t escape.
And so, Sunday ended.
It was fun—but my nerves are completely shot.
Chapter 27: Commando
Monday lunch break.
Summoned to the film club room, Towa stepped inside.
“Calling me out at lunch like this… what do you want, witch?”
Towa’s voice was cold.
But Mio, in high spirits, lounged on the sofa and replied.
“I’ve got a good deal for you, Adrasteia Ambrosia.
You want to drink human blood, right? I was thinking I could let you do it while staying a Daywalker.”
A taunting quip.
Towa’s eyes narrowed sharply.
“You know who I am, don’t you, Morgadia Nox—Aran’s disciple. I’ve heard about you. They say he had one hell of a student.”
“Heh~ Being known by a celebrity is quite an honor.”
Mio shrugged slightly, then lowered her voice.
“But more importantly… guess what. —Kazuto confessed to me. Said he loves me as a woman.”
Towa’s brow twitched.
“We’re mutual, you know.”
Mio’s voice was sweet, almost melting.
A strange humidity filled the room’s air.
“So… how about making Kazuto mine alone?
If you agree—I’ll nullify the saintess’s blood. How’s that? Good deal, right?”
Towa’s eyes narrowed further, veins bulging.
“…What? Is that true?”
“Of course. I’ll nullify the saintess’s blood.”
“Not that!!”
Towa’s voice exploded. The desk rattled.
“The part about him confessing to you!!”
“Hehe… of course. And it was Kazuto who said it first.”
Mio blushed, clasping her hands to her chest, gazing dreamily upward.
“We’ve already vowed our future together. Once he graduates high school, we’ll live together. So, about the saintess’s—huh?”
By the time she noticed, Towa was gone.
Only the sound of the door slamming echoed in the club room.
Mio stood there, mouth agape, muttering to herself.
“…Huh, she got mad?”
※
The moment the lunch break ended, the chime rang.
The classroom door burst open, and Towa stormed in.
Her face—fierce and menacing.
“What’s your deal!!”
Towa zeroed in on my desk without hesitation. The desk shook, and I recoiled.
“After school, you’re coming with me!!”
Her shout rattled the entire classroom.
The next moment, the room buzzed. But no one intervened. No one spoke.
—No, they couldn’t.
Her aura silenced everyone.
Her gaze, sharp as a blade, pierced me relentlessly.
Even during class, she kept shooting me glances—no, staring almost constantly.
(Scary. Scary, scary, scary…!)
I wanted to escape. Anywhere.
But there was no escaping her gaze.
When I glanced around, my classmates—all of them—stared at me.
As if saying, “This is your fault.”
My stomach churned. My heart raced.
I could barely breathe.
When the chime rang for the end of the day, my legs felt like lead as I left the classroom.
※
At the school gate.
There stood Towa, imposing and unyielding.
Her long black hair swayed in the wind, her fiery eyes locked on me.
No escape.
Seeing her, I realized.
(…Yeah. Today’s my last day, isn’t it?)
Strangely, my heart grew calm.
“It’s too public here.”
The moment she whispered in my ear, a hard chop struck the back of my head.
My vision swayed, and consciousness sank into deep darkness.
※
When I woke, the world had changed.
Below me stretched the distant ground. Houses, roads, even parked cars looked like miniatures. Ants or grains of sand—impossible to tell.
The wind sliced my skin. Breathing made my throat tremble.
“Wait… is that… the school?”
Realizing the reality, my spine froze.
I was dangling upside down from a cliff’s edge, held by the ankle in Towa’s left hand.
“Listen.”
Towa’s voice was quiet. Too quiet, and that made it terrifying.
“My left hand’s weaker. So choose your answers carefully. …It might slip.”
Crunch—her fingers dug into my ankle.
“If I don’t like your answer… I won’t let it slide, even if it costs me.”
Her smile was a mask of madness.
I forced my throat to work.
“G-got it.”
“…Y-yes!”
I looked down.
Hundreds of meters of sheer drop.
My blood ran cold. My mind went blank.
“You told that witch you love her, didn’t you? Is that true? Don’t lie. …I want the truth.”
“Y… yes.”
“Hah.”
Towa’s lips twisted.
“Then what about me? You love me, right? You’re in love with me. Don’t get this wrong.”
Crunch, her grip tightened.
Pain and fear blurred my vision.
“Y-yes!”
“Huh? I didn’t hear that. Who loves who?”
Towa deliberately swung my body up and down. A hellish swing.
“I love Towa!!”
“No subject. Who loves who?”
“I-I do! I love Towa! I really… really love you!!”
“Love’s a vague word. Like, love, favorite—lots of kinds. Say it clearly. All of it.”
Her tone was almost playful, but to me, it was a death sentence.
Tears mixed with snot. My throat burned.
“I… I… love Towa!!”
Hearing those words, Towa’s lips curled sharply upward.
Her smile broke free.
“I promised I’d kill you last—”
Straight out of that movie.
“…That was a lie.”
“W-what!? W-what are you talking about…!?”
Towa laughed. The most gleeful she’d ever been.
“Good job. But—a little punishment.”
With a soft chuckle—she slowly opened her left hand.
※
Falling.
My body sliced through the air, free-falling.
My stomach floated, my body melting into the void.
Memories flashed by.
Elementary school, the girl next door. Her cute smile.
“I’ll marry you someday,” I promised—I couldn’t keep it.
The manga I borrowed from a friend. Never returned it.
A mediocre life… but in the end, two beautiful girls fought over me.
That’s… not so bad, maybe.
The ground rushed closer. Any second now—
BOOM!
Impact.
Bracing for death, my body was caught in Towa’s arms just before hitting the ground.
Her feet sank into the asphalt, smoke rising.
She looked down at me, cool as ever.
“Learned your lesson?”
“…Y-yes.”
“Hehe. In a movie I watched ages ago, Schwarzenegger did this same thing~ …Didn’t catch the guy, though.”
—I realized, from the bottom of my heart.
I absolutely cannot cross this woman.
