“Morning classes are over~”

I leaned back in my chair, taking a deep breath of relief.

Lunch break had arrived, and the classroom was buzzing with activity.

“Tanaka-kun, please eat my homemade bento!”

“Takahashi-kun, I have this limited sandwich from that popular place. It sells out in 5 minutes! You can eat me too, if you’d like~”

Today, as usual, girls were flocking around the class’s prized males, Tanaka and Takahashi.

I handed over one of the two insulated bags to Rui, choosing the one with the green design.

Inside, of course, was a bento.

I’m probably the only guy in this school who goes through the trouble of bringing a homemade lunch.

Most of the boys either order what they want to eat from their male bodyguards or receive meals from the girls.

“I feel bad taking a bento from you three times a week.”

I bring an extra lunch for Rui three times a week.

I started doing this about a month after Rui became my bodyguard. I noticed that his lunch usually consisted of sweets or convenience store bentos, so I offered to make an extra one for him.

By the way, we have a bento duty system at home. Myself, Kuno, and Mom take turns making lunch every two days.

Today’s bento is a special one made by Mom.

I already know it’s going to be delicious.

“Where shall we eat today?”

“How about the rooftop? The weather is good.”

“Sounds good.”

I was following Rui towards the classroom door when I glanced over at Tanaka and Takahashi.

The crowd had dispersed, and the girls who couldn’t break through the rigid security of their male bodyguards were returning to their spots, looking dejected.

Still, I assume they’ll have fun eating lunch with their friends even if they can’t join the guys.

“Ikuto?”

Rui turned around.

“You know, Rui. It’s okay to have lunch with your friends once in a while.”

The thought suddenly crossed my mind.

Even though it’s part of his job as a male bodyguard to eat with me, he must get tired of it. Plus, compared to me, Rui has many friends and fans.
