My Little Sister Suddenly Confessed to Me, but What Am I Supposed to Do by Dating My Little Sister? - Chapter 90 & 91 & 92
Chapter 90: The Secret Trip
“See you later, Mitsuki. Auntie, Yayoi-san, thank you for everything. I’ll be back for New Year’s.”
“Come back and stay longer next time. Though, the year-end deadlines might be…”
“Don’t push yourself too hard, Yayoi-san. You aren’t as young as you look.”
“Shut up!”
“Ahahaha! Mitsuki, don’t overdo things either.”
“Yeah! Niichama, Shiori-neechama, see you next time!”
“Yeah, Mitsuki-chan. I’ll win for real next time.”
“Mitsuki won’t lose either!”
With that, we left Azumino behind—but instead of heading to Nagano Station to catch the train for Tokyo, we arrived at Matsumoto Station.
“Ehehehehe… Onii-chan, it’s finally starting~~”
“Yeah. We actually went through with it…”
We were executing the secret overnight trip we had promised back in Chapter 19-1.
The plan began when Mom mentioned she might be able to take her summer break at the start of August. She only had three days off, while we were scheduled to stay for a week. Essentially, even if she had come with us, she would have had to return home early.
When we first started dating, we looked for various date courses and found a certain place we really wanted to visit. However, a day trip was impossible, and we had almost given up because of the problems associated with two minors staying overnight alone.
But the desire was reignited when the trip to Mom’s hometown was decided. It was incredibly close to Azumino—practically right there.
Since Mom is famously easygoing, we figured we could fake one day. As it turned out, only Mitsuki noticed the discrepancy. I had an excuse ready for Yayoi-san—”I just confused ‘one week’ with ‘this week'”—which accounted for the one-day gap. We used Mom’s lax nature to our advantage.
“Mitsuki almost caught us, but the excuse worked.”
“A secret just between you and me, Onii-chan… Ehehe, let’s make even more secrets on this trip.”
“No, we’re already full of secrets as it is…”
More importantly, my reason is at its limit… This trip is only going to make it harder. Can I really endure this? We’ve stayed in the same room in Ishigaki, so that part should be fine, but the problem is the promise I made the other day… This is dangerous.
“Still, I feel a little guilty for lying to Mitsuki. In the end, I didn’t play with her much or talk to her enough. I feel like there was something else she really wanted to tell me.”
“Hmm, yeah… Mitsuki-chan is the type who absolutely refuses to show her ‘far side,’ after all.”
“Her far side?”
“Yeah. She never showed any weakness to me… She’s incredible.”
“Yeah… I suppose so.”
“But she shows it to you, Onii-chan… Sigh, you really are something else.”
“Huh? Me?”
“No, nothing. I just mean you’re totally doting on her. Oh, the bus is leaving! Let’s go!”
We put our luggage in a coin locker at Matsumoto Station, taking only the essentials for one night, and boarded the bus. Our destination was the “Venus Line”—an amazing name I’d seen in a magazine that piqued my interest.
After over an hour on the bus, we arrived. The scenery was so beautiful that time flew by. It truly lived up to its name; we even saw what looked like a deer along the way.
The first place I wanted to go was the Utsukushigahara Open-Air Museum. Upon arrival, I saw a building with a logo that looked exactly like a certain TV station in Odaiba, which was a bit of a letdown… but once inside, the sculptures and objects scattered across the highland were overwhelming. Some of them even moved.
The moving sculptures were fascinating—some powered by motors, others by the wind. The titles were either clever, literal, or completely nonsensical, which Shiori and I had a great time discussing.
The flowers were in full bloom, and the mismatch between the highland, the art, and the blossoms was strangely perfect.
“…Hey, Onii-chan, the wind feels so good~~”
A lone Venus standing on the highland appeared before me… oh, it was just my sister.
Today, Shiori wore a white A-line long one-piece dress, a wide-brimmed straw hat with a flower, and her hair in braided twin-tails. As the wind caught her skirt, she looked like an angel or a goddess… So beautiful… so cute… My sister is a literal angel. See? I’ve raised the bar so high that no one can draw this. Even the author draws a bit, but the bar is so high he can’t even sketch it.
“Hm? What’s wrong, Onii-chan?”
“Eh? Ah, nothing. I just thought the ‘long’ look suits you today.”
She usually wears minis, so this was incredibly fresh. It’s a shame I can’t see her beautiful legs, though.
“I went for a ‘highland style’… does it not look good?”
“No, it looks incredibly good on you.”
“Ehehe, thank you…”
Shiori linked her arm with mine. Usually, she uses both arms to grip me tight, but today she had to use one hand to keep her hat from blowing away, so we were just walking arm-in-arm normally.
We appreciated the colorful objects spread across the highland one after another. We also took a quick look inside the museum, which was fairly standard.
After about two hours, we left the museum and headed for the hiking trail. The wind was cool, and the clouds felt close; the elevation here must be quite high.
After walking for about twenty minutes, we reached a building that looked like a drive-in selling souvenirs. It was called “Yamamoto Goya,” but it wasn’t a shack—the first floor was a typical tourist restaurant and shop, and the second floor was a hotel.
We had lunch there. I ordered soba, while Shiori got soft-serve ice cream and milk…
“Is that your lunch?”
“I just really wanted it.”
Well, whatever…
When my soba was ready, I went to get it and returned to find Shiori pointing at her milk and ice cream.
“O-Onii-chan!! This is delicious!!”
“Eh?”
“The milk is so rich! The soft-serve is amazing!”
“Really?”
This looks like a totally generic souvenir shop?
“Try some…”
I took a sip. D-delicious… What is this? Is there heavy cream in here?
“It’s great! I’m gonna buy some too.”
“Right? It’s so good~~”
(This isn’t an ad, it really was delicious. Highly recommended if you’re nearby.)
We left our bags there to continue our walk. The hotel we’re staying at actually sends a shuttle bus to this location. Since cars are restricted in this area, no private vehicles or tourist buses can go directly to the hotel. You can walk, or have the hotel transport your luggage for you.
Walking past Yamamoto Goya, we saw a mountain-hut-style building that turned out to be the actual Yamamoto Goya; the previous one was the “Furusato-kan.”
Further ahead, a ranch came into view. Despite being on top of a mountain, the sprawling highlands looked like a scene from Hokkaido… This was exactly what I wanted to see. Cattle were grazing peacefully across the plateau.
“Cows! There are so many~~ Hellooo!”
When Shiori called out, several cows actually approached us. Seriously…?
As we walked with the cows following us, the silhouette of our hotel finally appeared.
“Ah, that’s where we’re staying today.”
When I pointed, Shiori looked a bit surprised.
“Eh…? Is that it?”
I’d seen it online, but seeing it in person was powerful. The hotel sat atop the mountain, surrounded by several towering radio towers. From a distance, it looked like a demon’s castle, which was a bit intimidating.
Though it’s on a mountain, it’s more of a high hill than a grueling climb, but it still takes nearly an hour to walk. In Shiori’s outfit, it might be tough…
“Want to go back?” I asked, since the bus could take us.
“Hmm… This is actually exciting. It’s like being heroes heading toward the demon’s castle, right? You’re the Hero, and I’m the Mage fighting by your side? It’s cool… feels like an Isekai. Let’s go, Hero Onii-chan!!”
“Isekai again…? Well, thinking that way makes it more fun. Alright! Let’s go defeat the Demon King!!”
The two of us started walking toward the hotel.
Chapter 91: The Secret Trip
“Haa… haa… Shi… Shiori… haa… haa…”
“O-Onii… chan, haa… haa…”
“Haa… haa… I… I can’t… anymore…”
“Onii… chan… just a… just a little… more…”
“I… haa… can’t…”
“Just a little… further… almost there…”
“Haa… sorry… haa… Shiori… I’m at… my… limit…”
“…………Geez, Onii-chan, you have absolutely no stamina~~”
“Sh-Shiori… haa… you’re a bit out of breath too, aren’t you? Haaaaaa…”
I came to a halt to take a small break.
“Well, I’m wearing this outfit, but my stamina is fine~~ It’s just that the elevation here is high! My breath is short because the air is thin! You’re the one who’s just completely out of shape, aren’t you, Onii-chan?”
We were walking toward the hotel… We were only walking, I swear!
Along the way, we encountered a stone structure called the “Tower of Beauty” and rang the bell installed there…
Clang, clang!
“Ehehe, it sounds like a wedding bell, doesn’t it, Onii-chan?”
“Actually, it’s a bell meant to prevent people from getting lost in the fog…”
After that, we passed through a place called “Shiokureba” (The Salt-Giving Spot)…
“Onii-chan! The cows are licking the stones!!”
“Yeah, apparently cows need salt, so they provide it for them here.”
It was during the climb toward the hotel after passing those two landmarks that things got tough.
Looking toward the hotel from the Tower of Beauty, the incline didn’t seem so bad, but actually walking it was brutal. The elevation must be high; the air felt thin. Perhaps because of that, just walking left me breathless, and climbing even further… it was painful…
“Haa… haa… this is pretty rough… You seem fine, Shiori~”
“Yeah! Haa… the air is thin, but it tastes so good~~”
I turned around and looked back at the path we had taken.
“Ohh! What a view! You can see the Tower of Beauty from here.”
Someone must have been ringing the bell; even though there was quite a distance, I could hear the sound.
“Onii-chan, the hotel is right there~~ Let’s go!”
“Alright… almost there…”
After a little over an hour of climbing, we arrived at a hotel that felt somewhat aged. As we saw from below, radio towers stood all around it.
“Up close, it doesn’t look like a demon’s lair at all.”
“It looks like a big mountain hut.”
“Oh! The elevation is written at the entrance. 2,034 meters… no wonder I’m out of breath…”
“Onii-chan, there are beautiful flowers here… um… n-never mind.”
“Hm? What’s wrong?”
My sister was cowering in front of some purple flowers… I wonder what they are?
“I-it’s fine, let’s just go inside…”
Stepping into the hotel was like traveling back in time; the lobby had a deep sense of history.
“This is lovely~~”
“It looked a bit old on the outside, but it’s beautiful inside.”
We checked in and went to our room. I booked the cheapest room they had—obviously~~
“Ah… the view isn’t great, as expected.”
“Hmm, well, it can’t be helped.”
Being a cheap room, the view wasn’t spectacular; there was a radio tower right outside the window. However, beyond that, I could see what looked like the Northern Alps, so it didn’t feel too bad.
“But the room is very nice… Onii-chan, do you want some tea?”
“Ah, yeah. Thanks.”
I sat at the low table and let my sister pour me tea… There’s something nice about this…
I took out the paper listing the events and meal times while sipping the tea.
“Looks like there are a lot of events.”
“What kind of events?”
“Let’s see… welcome drinks, a slide show of the four seasons, a stargazing session, and a sunrise viewing at a place called Oga-hana.”
“Heeh, sounds fun.”
“Well, let’s go if we can. But first, the view is supposed to be great, so let’s go see it before it gets dark.”
“Okay!”
The hotel has a rooftop observatory and a terrace where you can enjoy the view. When we stepped onto the terrace, quite a few people were already looking out.
“Wow! Amazing! Amazing, amazing, amazing!!”
“Whoa… this is incredible…”
The scenery from the terrace was spectacular. The clouds, lit by the setting sun, were below us. On some days, you can see a sea of clouds; today wasn’t quite that much, but… combined with the mountains bathed in the sunset, it was a fantasy-like landscape.
“I can’t believe we’ve seen such amazing sights in just a few weeks of summer vacation~~”
“Yeah. It feels a bit like a luxury…”
My sister took my hand. I squeezed back, and we enjoyed the view together.
“Being able to see this with you is the greatest luxury for me… Thank you, Onii-chan… for being with me…”
“Yeah.”
Even though it was midsummer, the temperature on the mountain was low, and Shiori’s hand felt warm. We stayed like that, hands linked, until it grew dark…
Afterward, as per our reservation, we headed to the restaurant for an early dinner.
“Whoa! This is so lavish…”
“It’s delicious~~”
Dinner was a multi-course kaiseki meal of surprising quality and quantity for a mountaintop. I was particularly impressed when they brought around char (iwana) grilled over charcoal to each table. It was freshly grilled and amazing!
“Whoa! They even have sashimi! And it’s good!”
“Onii-chan, this rice has ginger in it. It’s so good. I’ll make it at home next time.”
We finished with coffee and dessert, returning to the room feeling completely satisfied.
Futons had already been laid out in the room… Crap. The situation of “futons in a hotel room” is a bit heart-pounding. I’m not going to do anything, though…
“Well… ehehehehe. Onii-chan… shall we go soon?”
As soon as we entered the room, my sister smiled brightly and looked at me.
“Um, go… you mean there, right? Are we really going?”
“Yes! We m-a-d-e a promise, didn’t we? Didn’t we?”
“Yes… we did. There’s that slide show I mentioned earlier, so it should be empty now. Are you okay with missing the show?”
“I don’t mind at all!! This is a much more important event!!”
“An event, huh… Alright. A promise is a promise. Let’s… get ready…”
“Yay!”
Shiori and I grabbed our change of clothes and headed to a certain location.
“It’s empty…”
“It is!”
“Alright, let’s go in…”
I opened the door, entered with my sister, and locked it.
The sign on the door read:
Private Panorama Bath
Chapter 92: The Secret Trip
We were at the private open-air bath—what people usually call a “family bath.”
“Um, for now, I’m getting in with you because I promised, but keep that bath towel wrapped tight. Make sure it doesn’t fall off like it did the other day…”
“Yeah! I borrowed some large clothespins from the auntie, so it’ll be fine. Look!”
She showed me these clothespins that looked like crab claws. I wondered what she’d intended to use them for when she got them~~ I never imagined it would be for this…
“…Umm, somehow, undressing together in the changing room is even more embarrassing than the idea of the bath itself…”
“Ah… yeah. Now that you mention it… having you see me take off my underwear is a bit embarrassing… maybe…”
“R-right. Um… then… let’s undress back-to-back…”
“Okay…”
We undressed with our backs to each other. The sound of rustling clothes was incredibly distracting… Ah, I just heard the sound of a zipper sliding down…
I hurried to strip, wrapped a towel around my waist, and headed into the bathroom without looking at my sister.
“Ah, I’ll get in first then.”
“Eh! Oh, okay…”
Shiori’s voice was a bit high-pitched; she might have been in the middle of taking off her underwear just then…
With that image in my head, I opened the bathroom door. There was a washing area in the front, a hinoki wood bathtub beyond it, and no windows—just an open view of the outside.
It was a semi-open-air setup. It felt a bit small overall, but this hotel’s large public baths are popular, so I suppose if you want space, you’re expected to go there.
I poured some hot water over my head to rinse off, and then I heard the door open… Shiori had come in…
“Ehehe. It’s a bit embarrassing when it’s all formal like this, Onii-chan.”
Wrapped in her bath towel, Shiori smiled at me. Beneath that towel… Crap. I almost drifted off to an Isekai for a second.
“Right. Well, a promise is a promise. Let’s wash your hair.”
I stood up and had Shiori sit down on a stool.
“Th-then… I’m counting on you, Onii-chan.”
“You’re stuttering. Come on, close your eyes.”
I laughed and started rinsing her hair with the shower. Her wet black hair glistened under the water. I found myself accidentally entranced by how much it sparkled.
No, no, I have to wash it, not just stare. I applied shampoo and started washing from behind. I moved her hair aside where it clung to her shoulders. Every time I touched her skin, my heart skipped a beat. Every time I lifted her hair and saw her wet nape, I felt like I was going to faint.
“Any itchy spots~~?”
“My chest!”
“Yes, yes.”
I managed to deflect with the classic hairdresser’s gag and kept washing. Her hair texture was exactly like Mitsuki’s—they really are cousins.
As I washed even more carefully than I had for Mitsuki, as if giving her a scalp massage, I could see Shiori narrowing her eyes in the mirror as if it felt wonderful.
“I’m rinsing now~~”
As the shower water hit her head and washed away the shampoo, the bath towel became even wetter, clinging tightly to her skin.
I could clearly see her beautiful silhouette through the towel. Ah, this is seriously dangerous…
“Al-alright, next is the conditioner~~”
I took some conditioner and worked it through her hair. It felt incredibly silky, like silk itself. I wondered if she even needed conditioner.
Ugh, no, I have to say something. If I stay quiet, I’m going to end up hugging her from behind.
“Um, Shiori, are you going to play with your friends when we get back?”
“Ehh? Well~~ I’ve been turning them down because I want to be with you, Onii-chan. Oh, right, I got an email from Asami-chan asking if we wanted to go to a fireworks display.”
“Eh! I didn’t get one… Asami…”
“Onii-chan, you’ve kept your phone turned off, haven’t you?”
“Ah, I forgot…”
I’d kept it off because I was scared of the Student Council President’s LINE messages…
“Honestly, you won’t be able to reach anyone in an emergency like that~”
She looked at me with a pout. Even her puffed-out cheeks were cute. I couldn’t help but poke one with my index finger.
“Geez~~ Onii-chan~~”
Yes, yes, you’re cute! So cute! I think the conditioner has set in by now.
“Okay, rinsing it off.”
I rinsed the conditioner away. Finally, it was over. I endured it. I did my best…
“There, all done. I was even more careful than I was with Mitsuki. Are you satisfied now~~?”
“Yeah! Thank you, Onii-chan! Now, wash my body~~”
She raised her arms in a “Banzai” pose—don’t copy exactly what Mitsuki did!
“Do that yourself.”
I said that and climbed into the tub. Even though it’s a private bath, other people will use it later, so I took off my towel before getting in. I glanced at Shiori; she had started washing her arms.
Assuming she’d be taking off the towel to wash the rest, I looked away, staring out at the scenery.
No lights were visible except for the hotel’s. It was near-total darkness, but the hotel’s glow faintly illuminated the path we’d climbed earlier.
“Hm? I thought I saw something just now. And quite a few of them…”
I squinted to see what it was but couldn’t tell. Maybe animals? Did the cows get out of the fence? If that many got out, it would be a disaster. As I was staring intently outside…
“What’s wrong, Onii-chan? Did you see something?”
Having finished washing, Shiori wrapped her arms around my neck and peered over my shoulder…
So… I’m currently in the bathtub. I’d been leaning forward slightly to look out, so my upper body was out of the water, but I was still in the tub.
Naturally, Shiori knows this is a public facility. She’s smart and has common sense—she’s my pride and joy!
Therefore, there’s no way she’d bring a towel into the water… which means the sister currently clinging to my neck is… completely naked…
“Um, Shiori-san… there’s… something pressing against my back…”
“Eh? Ah—yeah. Ei!”
She tightened her hug from behind and pressed herself harder against my back… St-st-st-stop itttt!
“Shiori, I-I’m sorry. I can’t. I’m at my limit. Let go…”
Hearing my words, my sister said this:
“…If it’s you, Onii-chan… it’s okay…”
“Sh-Shiori!!”
The moment I turned around, I pulled Shiori into a tight embrace!!!
