Chapter 15: Elder Sister’s room

【Ren’s Perspective】

“Here~ come in.”

“Yes, yes.”

I welcomed Kou-kun into my house.

While I could have continued our conversation outside, I felt that the same feeling can appear in him again in future, so I decided to take a gamble.

“Kou-kun, please have a seat here.”

I gestured for him to sit on the sofa, and Kou-kun obediently complied, looking visibly nervous and glancing around.

“Nn? Is something wrong?”

“Eh, no! There’s nothing’s wrong at all. It’s a lovely room!”

“Hehe, thank you. Just wait here for a moment while I go get it.”

“Okay.”

Leaving Kou-kun behind, I headed to my bedroom.

“…Phew… Now, let’s see… I need to bring it out quickly, but…”

I took the box out of the closet, but in truth my feelings were complicated.

That was because the mementos of my memories with Kou-kun, which I had with me, were thrown away in the past.

Except for just one photograph.

So, what’s inside the box is currently the items that were collected and kept by my mother.

“Sigh… I resent my past self for throwing them away instead of hiding them… No, it’s pointless to dwell on it now.”

“…Anyway, I’ll bring that photo along too.”

I picked up that photo along the countless ones kept inside, and left the bedroom.

【Kousuke’s Perspective】

“Haah… So this is where Ren-nee lives.”

Kou-kun looked around nervously.

Ren’s room had a green-themed decor, and the aroma of incense filled the air. Although the layout was supposed to be the same as Kou-kun’s room, it exuded a completely different atmosphere.

“…Haah… I wonder why did I say that?”

Kou-kun regretted what he had said to Ren-nee earlier: “Are you really my older Elder Sister?”

Despite Risa’s words and the suspicions surrounding Ren, Kousuke had never seriously considered about the idea that Ren might not be his Elder Sister. However still, he ended up asking her.

Perhaps deep down, Kousuke didn’t want Ren to be his Elder Sister. It maybe because he doesn’t fully accept her as his Elder Sister, or maybe because…—?

“Sorry to keep you waiting, Kou-kun.”

Ren-nee emerged from the bedroom, carrying a large cardboard box in her hands.

“Is that the memento you mentioned?”

“Yeah… Shall we take a look?”

The two of them opened the box and began examining its contents.
