There is No Way My Childhood Friend Can Win Against My Girlfriend (2)
“That’s my line, Tsukimiya-senpai.”
Rinka narrows her eyes and says so in a cold tone.
She lets go of me and face my childhood friend.
Seeing that, my childhood friend’s eyes are filled with unease.
“You’ve got some nerve taking advantage of Toshi-kun’s kindness to stay the night. We’re dating, so could you stop doing such thoughtless things?”
My childhood friend, clearly shaken, just opens and closes her mouth. It seems that she can’t say anything back.
“…stop it. Don’t take Toshi-kun away from me!”
“You’re the one who let him go, and yet you say that.”
“I didn’t let him go!”
“After hurting Senpai so much? Please stop. Don’t get in the way of me and Senpai.”
Rinka glares at her as she says so.
My childhood friend flinches, her shoulders are trembling in fear.
“I-I didn’t mean to hurt him…”
“You really don’t get it, do you? Do you even realize how terrible your actions are? It’s time you figured it out.”
“No, I know…I know I did something awful.”
“Then how can you say you didn’t mean to hurt him? Well, I already knew. I knew you are that kind of person, Tsukimiya-senpai. You don’t realize the seriousness of what you’ve done! You’re just a selfish person, and that’s exactly why I wanted to get back at you!”
“Get back at me?”
“Yes, I wanted you to witness my ‘affair’ with Senpai. It was meant to be payback. After making sure you were hurt even more than you hurt Senpai, I plan to be happy with Senpai.”
“What’s…that supposed to mean?”
Rinka continues.
“However, senpai said he didn’t want anything to do with Tsukimiya-senpai anymore. So I decided to respect his feelings. But in the end, that might have been a mistake. I should have taught you, the slutty awful bitch, the pain that Senpai has gone through. Because you can’t understand the seriousness of your actions, you’re still clinging to him with your lingering feelings.”
“…I-I’ve gone through a lot of pain too…I didn’t want to see Rin-chan and Toshi-kun kissing…”
“What gives you the right to say that? Haha, don’t make me laugh. Now that you’ve broken up with Senpai, you have no right to complain about who he kisses. That is no longer your business.”
“That’s not true…”
“It is true.”
Rinka immediately denies my childhood friend’s words.
“Seriously, are you kidding me? Hanging out in front of senpai’s house for hours at night? Just what were you thinking?”
“I just wanted to talk to Toshi-kun…”
“What an incredibly selfish person you are. Even now, you can only think about yourself, Tsukimiya-senpai. If Senpai didn’t let you in, what would you have done?”
“I would have waited until Toshi-kun opened the door for me.”
“I figured as much. That’s why I’m saying you’re really selfish. Given the time of day, it’s getting cold at night, and it could seriously threaten your life. What would you do if something were to happen to you and Senpai got blamed for it, Tsukimiya-senpai?”
My childhood friend averts her faze as she tightly clenches her hands.
“That…would be my own fault, right?”
“Yes, that’s true. But will it really be seen as your own fault? If something were to happen, don’t you think senpai would be blamed? Considering the circumstances, people might see Senpai as someone who heartlessly abandoned his childhood friend for the night. If rumours start to spread, Senpai could be expelled from school. Tsukimiya-senpai’s parents might even hold a grudge against Senpai. You’re using such cowardly tactics.”
“…I didn’t mean to—”
“You didn’t mean to? You didn’t mean to be a nuisance? Is that it? Enough already. Please don’t hurt Senpai any further!”
Rinka’s words are really powerful and filled with strong emotion.
Her body trembles slightly as she speaks. Rinka is angry for my sake and genuinely cares about me.
Yet…what am I doing?
I’m just making her worry needlessly and relying on her kindness.
Rinka believes me, but the fact that I spent the night with my childhood friend must still be a lingering concern in her heart.
This is wrong…this is not right at all.
I truly am such a useless person…I really need to change. I can’t let my childhood friend do whatever she wants anymore. I have to cut ties with her once and for all.
“…you’ve been saying all this nonsense for a while now…don’t just say whatever you want.”
“Huh?”
Suddenly, my childhood friend grabs Rinka by her collar.
“You must have said unnecessary things to Toshi-kun, right!? Thinking back, it’s strange. It’s because of you all this happened…! If you hadn’t been around, I’d still be with Toshi right now…”
“What are you suddenly saying? It’s all your fault. Don’t blame me for something you did!”
“No…no, no, no! Don’t take my Toshi-kun away from me!”
I have never seen my childhood friend like that before. She seems…really desperate.
I quickly step in between them and push my childhood friend away.
With Rinka behind me, I glare at her.
“Can you just go home…? As Rinka said, this is all…your own fault. Stop blaming others.”
I said so coldly.
I’ve said this many times before, I don’t want to get involved with my childhood friend anymore.
My feelings haven’t changed at all.
“Rinka…you won’t call me by my first name, but you call her by hers?”
“Of course. I treat my girlfriend differently than a stranger.”
“Stranger…”
The moment I said those words, my childhood friend’s face turns pale.
Rinka clings to my arm.
“That’s right. Please go home quickly. I have to make breakfast for my boyfriend.”
“I bought breakfast for us…”
“You went to a convenience store…can’t you cook a homemade meal?”
“…I-I can cook!”
My childhood friend takes the bait from Rinka’s provocation head-on.
However, I know the truth, my childhood friend can’t cook.
She’s really clumsy and has no talent for cooking at all.
To a certain extent, Rinka knows about it too.
“Hmm…”
“W-What?”
“Then, let’s have a contest.”
“Eh?”
“Let’s see who can satisfy Senpai better, me or Tsukimiya-senpai. The loser has to leave this house with dignity.”
“T-That’s…unfair…”
“Do you really have the right to say that to Tsukimiya-senpai?”
Her tone is no different from usual, but it’s clear that Rinka is angry.
“…fine. Let’s have a cooking contest then.”
Thus, for some reason, we end up deciding to settle this with a cooking contest.

Okay that’s dumb lmao
