- My Childhood Friend who is My Girlfriend is not Looking at Me
- Chapter 24 - Graduation
Graduation
Around the fall of my sophomore year, exactly one year after the student council incident, when I came home from school, I was approached by a woman near my house.
Her appearance was not complimentary; she was wearing a grey sweatshirt and sandals, and her hair looked messy.
Her face, I don’t know how to describe a woman’s face like that, but she had severe pimples, and she was overweight, to describe it in a word, she looked unhealthy.
‘Umm, Mugi-kun…’
When I was approached, my first thought was,
‘This person smells.’
She is a woman, but she had a sour body odor.
Holding back the smell, I replied.
‘Who are you?’
‘It’s me, Setsuna! I want Mugi-kun to listen to me!’
I was so surprised that I couldn’t help but to stare at her face.
After some moments she told me so, I recognized it was really Setsuna.
‘Ugh…’
It slipped through my mouth.
‘Ano! Listen to me, Mugi-kun! I want you to listen to me!’
When she shouted so, she began to get down on his knees on the spot.
‘No, thank you. I don’t want to hear it.’
I just told her so and ran away.
Then the next day, Setsuna was waiting for me at the same place.
And the next day.
And the day after.
She was waiting for me there every day.
So I ran away every day.
It continued so for around ten days. I went to the police with my mother and reported her as a stalker.
I was very relieved when she did not show up the next day.
I told Hana about it just in case after reporting her to the police, and told her to be careful in case something might happen on her end as well.
This is the only incident that happened at my second year.
Ah, that’s right, one time, in my second year, my classmates and homeroom teacher almost nominated me for the student council president.
‘Stop it!’
I refused and shouted so.
My second-year homeroom teacher just got into my school that year and apparently didn’t know the details of last year’s incident. So I reported the matter to the vice principal, who gave him a stern warning, and from then on things quieted down.
The rest of the days was somehow peaceful, both Hana and I were able to graduate without smoothly.
As for my post-graduation plans, when told Hana I decided to apply to a university outside of the prefecture, she said,
‘I will follow you wherever you go.’
Then we decided to go to the same university.
We both wanted to leave our hometown, but we were still anxious to live on our own, it seemed that we had no other choice.
My parents and Hana’s parents are aware of the student council incident in our freshman year, and they know that we have been spending a lot of time together since then, so they are supportive of our decision to go to the same university and to live in the same apartment, in separate rooms of course.
According to information from her mother, Kana is going to a local junior college.
I didn’t care, so I just responded with
‘Hehh…’
I think I enjoy going to college.
Perhaps thanks to the change in environment, both Hana and I laugh even more often.
But neither of us ever dated anyone.
Between the two of us, we occasionally jokingly crossed arms and touched each other’s body playfully, but we never had any sexual activity.
Hana is very popular at the university, and she is often approached, especially by male students, but she always says,
‘Umm…not interested?’
It’s almost the same for me, but I always refuse them with the same line.
‘Maybe in another chance.’
