Appointment
Right after I send the message to Kana, it was immediately marked as read, but she didn’t reply anything.
In the student council room, the three of them are still arguing with each other.
“I’m going to go home early and prepare to talk with Kana, so I’ll get going now. Thank you for your hard work everyone.”
“Wait! If you’re going home, I’m going too!”
Setsuna said so.
Then the argument ends by Setsuna going home with me.
I leave school with Setsuna and we part at the local station today.
I walk home alone from the station. It feels kind of weird because I usually go home with Setsuna lately. Then after walking a while, Kana’s house can be seen.
A person suddenly comes out from the front door of Kana’s house.
She appears to be Kana’s aunt.
“Hello, Auntie.”
“Oh, Mu-kun, welcome back. Kana isn’t with you?”
“Yeah, we always go home separately.”
“Eh, is that so? That’s strange. When I asked her why does she always come home so late the other day, she said she usually went shopping or went to karaoke with Mu-kun…”
“Haa, is that so… we haven’t gone home together or stopped by anywhere before going home since we entered high school. I guess it’s troublesome to explain who are the classmates she is hanging out with, so she mentioned my name. I don’t think it means anything.”
“I guess so…ah, I’m sorry for holding you back.”
“No, it’s fine. Then, I’ll get going now.”
I leave Kana’s aunt and go inside my house.
As for the story Kana’s aunt told me earlier, there is no way I know why Kana gave my name as an excuse, I guess she is just using me because it’s convenient for her. Best not to worry about it. We’re breaking up tonight anyway.
I go inside my room, change into my loungewear and check my phone, but as usual, there is no reply from Kana.
That would be a problem.
I can’t talk to Kana in person unless I know when she’s available.
I should send her another message.
‘Are you not available tonight? I’ll wait for your reply.’
I send the message to her, connect my phone to the charger, and leave it for a while.
As I’m studying at my desk, my mom calls me to the dining table for dinner, so I go down to eat dinner with my family.
Then after I had dinner and went back to my room, I received a reply from Kana saying that it would be okay after 8.00 PM.
‘Okay then. I’ll pick you up at 8pm, we’ll talk in the park.’
I send the message, make sure the message is read, and continue studying again.
