Chapter 1 The Demon King and the Hero Awaken in Japan
After the young girl ran off, only the Hero and I were left. Or rather, the twin boy and girl named Kageyo Kamiya and Isumi Kamiya.
I had come to accept the reality to some extent. My knowledge about this world was limited to words alone. However, I understood the situation.
We had been reincarnated into this world by a damn excuse of a creator god. I, once the Demon Lord, and Shirene, the Hero, found ourselves reborn in this world.
If I recall correctly, it’s a world called “Earth,” in a country known as “Japan.” Two beds were placed in this room enclosed by white walls. Numerous unfamiliar tools were scattered around.
But wait, what’s this needle stuck in my arm? It’s connected to a tube, and there’s a transparent bag filled with yellow liquid. Could they be injecting this liquid into my body? But for what purpose?
I’d like to yank this needle out as soon as possible, but wait… could it be that this is…
Amidst my contemplations, Shirene began to panic.
“What on earth is this!? Is it the Demon Lord’s illusion? What has happened to me?! And what is this needle stuck in my arm?”
Just like me, she had a needle stuck in her arm, but she forcefully pulled it out. I presumed it was a tool for administering medicine, but well, that’s not important right now.
I calmly addressed her in the language of our original world.
“Why don’t you calm down a little, Hero Shirene?”
“What!? Who are you?”
“Don’t you recognize me? I am the Demon Lord Benes. Although in this world, I seem to have the name Kageyo Kamiya.”
“What? What are you saying?”
“Didn’t the Creator God Zekar explain it to you? He said that he would reincarnate us into a peaceful parallel world called ‘Earth’ in the country of ‘Japan.’ That’s what happened.”
“I don’t understand!”
Oh dear, it seems the Hero lacks comprehension.
No, wait, is it me who’s the strange one for being so composed in this situation?
“In any case, we can only observe the situation for a while.”
“Don’t mock me! Even if our appearances have changed, I won’t be fooled! If you truly are the Demon Lord, I will slay you right now!”
The Hero shouted, showing signs of searching for something.
“Where did you put the Hero’s sword?”
“We wouldn’t bring a sword with us into a different world, you know.”
“What do you mean by a different world!? Are you kidding me!?”
“It’s Zekar who’s kidding.”
“Calling the Creator God by his name! How disrespectful for a Demon Lord.”
“Oh, come on…”
I’m getting fed up.
I can understand why she’s confused, but how on earth should I explain this?
I wish Zekar had taken more responsibility for explaining.
Just when I was about to bury my head in my hands, the door to the room opened, and three adults along with the young girl from before entered.
Among the adults, one was a middle-aged man in a white coat, another was also middle-aged, wearing dark blue clothes, and the last was a slightly plump, middle-aged woman.
The man in the white coat spoke gently to me, the Hero, and Isumi.
“It seems you’ve noticed now, Kageyo-kun, Isumi-chan. Are you feeling any pain in your bodies?”
In response, Shirene, the Hero, yelled, “Where on earth is this? Who are you people?”
She seemed like she might start a rampage at any moment.
“Calm down, Isumi-chan. This is a hospital. I am Dr. Naruse. You two twins, were involved in an accident on your way home from elementary school. You were hit by a car and suffered a severe head injury, putting you in a dangerous condition for a while.”
“I don’t understand. I was supposed to be fighting the Demon Lord.”
Upon hearing her words, Dr. Naruse furrowed his brows.
“What’s that? Are you talking about a game?”
Hmm.
This Dr. Naruse, he says amusing things.
Indeed, from the perspective of the Creator God Zekar, that battle might have been a grand game.
Whether it’s a coincidence or not, it somehow touches the essence of it.
It’s amusing, and I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
