Chapter 137 – Turnabout Position

POV: Todo-san

“Why is Takanashi-kun… and even Yokogawa-kun here?” Yuzuki-senpai shockingly said.

When we reached the rooftop, we heard voices beyond the door, so I took a peek and saw Takanashi-kun… and even Yokogawa-kun.

The letter was in Satsugawa-senpai’s possession, so they shouldn’t know about it.

Along with the boy who placed the letter in Takanashi-kun’s shoebox were two guys I don’t know.

“This is truly unexpected.” Satsukawa-senpai said with a perplexed tone.

As I was peeking, the story went on from the guys and we could hear voices from the slight opening of the door.

Yuzuki-senpai started recording using her smartphone.

“Takanashi. I’ve heard a lot from Yamazaki. You were a badass during middle school.”

“What was it? Assault, violence, stalking… and even threatening.”

That’s!? 

So Takanashi-kun was that person after all.

I really thought he was a different person considering how far apart he was from what I’ve heard.

“Calm down, Sara. It’s okay. We don’t believe any of that.”

“I too, don’t believe any of it. Sorry, I’ll ask you for the explanation later. For now, let’s hear the story.”

Satsukawa-senpai was a little flustered.

Yuzuki-senpai called out to Satsukawa-senpai and I followed suit. 

After hearing us, Satsukawa-senpai calmed down a bit.

I can’t believe that she had a side like that – impatient and anxious.

As expected, when it all came down to the boy you like, Satsukawa-senpai was your typical girl and I found it so cute.

However, it’s all about Takanashi-kun and his story for now. I wanted to hear more of it.

“Todo-san?”

Satsukawa-senpai was a little shocked when she saw my expression but I focused on listening anyway.

“That’s all lies made up by my childhood friend. I didn’t do any of those.”

Upon hearing Takanashi-kun’s words, all of it fitted together.

Childhood friend… It had to be Yuzuha Sasagawa.

It was a well-known fact that she had incited Yamazaki to publicly shame Youko.

For a woman with such a twisted personality, it’s not surprising that she’ll do something like that to Takanashi-kun.

In that case, what Takanashi-kun was saying was the truth and the rumors to be hoax.

“Look at this photo of a rapist being arrested. You see Yamazaki in the background? There were more photos but I think he was an accomplice.”

WHAT!!??

THERE WERE PHOTOS???

I’m sure Youko would be pleased… Maybe she can finally take revenge on Yamazaki.

With that in mind, I couldn’t contain myself anymore!

Kazunari’s POV

Sara-san and Natsumi-senpai? Even Todo-san?

What are they doing here?

Hayato, the two idiots and the person who didn’t understand what was happening were all surprised.

“Sara-san… what brings you here?”

“Kazunari-san. I will explain later. For now, I need to get rid of those who threatened you.”

“Takanashi-kun! Show me the picture you were talking about just now. I think that’s…”

“Huh? Why are Satsukawa-senpai and Yuzuki-senpai here?”

“Princess!? Perfect timing. I’m just getting ready to unravel his true colors!”

“Yokogawa-kun, what in the world happened?”

It’s a mess.

I am really eager to ask what they know about the photo…

Since the photo was insignificant as it is now, I wanted to get information before they recover their mental state.

But each and everyone of them had their own thoughts to say.

I came to a point where I cannot contain my displeasure since I cannot proceed with the conversation. 

“EVERYONE SHUT UP!!!”

I roared. It was the first time for me.

They were surprised to see me like that and fell silent all at once.

I’ll need to apologize to Sara-san and the others later.

“Sara-san, please leave it to me!”

“Y-yes… It’s all yours, Kazunari-san.”

Sara-san meekly obeyed me.

Why does your face look a little reddish?

“Todo-san, about the photo. Let’s talk about that later.”

“O-okay. Sorry, Takanashi-kun.”

Todo-san calmed down.

“Natsumi-senpai… And Sara-senpai too, please.”

“I’m fine, don’t worry.”

With her smartphone in hand, it looked like she was recording the whole thing.

“Do you have any evidence that you’re not totally unrelated?”

I went with Hayato’s lead.

Looking at it the other way around, I could feel how strong the word “evidence” was.

Did they feel like this? The people who said it to me during middle school?

“Evidence… proof… Ah! RAIN! We have an exchange that proves we don’t have anything to do with that. You should be able to tell once you’ve looked at it.”

Idiot A hurriedly brought out his smartphone and launched RAIN.

“Hand it over.”

Hayato scrolled down while showing it all to me.

They’ve been instructed to spread rumors about me… are they gofers?

“Around when?”

Idiot A was handed back his smartphone and scrolled back in his history messages. 

“There. There it was.”

Once more, Hayato and I peeked at the screen.

There were three of them exchanging messages.

“Don’t tell anyone about Sagawa-senpai, okay?”

“Whatever you say, we don’t have anything to do with that.”

“Isn’t she the girl Yamazaki introduced? Are you involved?”

“I just introduced the girl. Sagawa-senpai assaulted her without me knowing. I haven’t seen him since.”

“Really? Then why did you keep quiet about it?”

“Hey, let’s stop this. We don’t care anyway. Even if someone gets caught, we have nothing to do about it.”

This RAIN conversation was really interesting.

Since Natsumi-senpai was recording, I stopped on my own recording and took a picture of the screen.

And the members of the group.

I couldn’t help but smile with what information I’ve got from a measly photo.
