Chapter 2: Confirming Common Sense　

Five years have passed since I was reborn. I’d like to think that time flies when you get used to it, but that’s not the case. The world I live in now is largely different from the one I lived at before.

In this world, the concept of chastity between men and women is reversed. It’s what you’d call a “reversal” situation. And when I searched online, the gender ratio is 1:50, like something out of a world of a light novel.

I learned this when I was around one year old. I was at home watching the news, and this is what I saw,

‘The day before yesterday, a man was attacked in front of XX Academy. The female perpetrator was soon arrested, and she confessed, “I did it because I was aroused. I have no regrets.”‘

I was surprised to the point that I couldn’t make up the words to say regarding what I saw. Well, as a baby, all I could say was “Auu~” and such. But the reversal of chastity doesn’t matter much to me. I can manage as long as I’m careful.

The problem is the gender ratio. As I said before, it’s 1:50. This is very bad. With such a small number of men, it’s inevitable that women will seek them out. And compared to my previous world, their desire is much stronger here.

When I was a baby, Mana, my mother would hold me and take me outside. 

The women around me who saw me had the eyes of beasts that had found their prey. They gave such intense gazes to a baby. 

Some of them even blushed, while breathing heavily and seemed ready to pounce on me at any moment. That’s how hungry women are for men in this world.

Even with my mental age as a high school student, I found it scary. There’s no way an ordinary baby could handle this. I think the men in this world probably dislike women.

What a difficult world to live in.

But I don’t like the idea of being a NEET and just staying at home all the time. But the problem was there was only a few jobs that I. as a man in this world, can apply for… I still used to be an ordinary high school student though, or rather, a plain and boring guy, so I don’t think becoming an eye candy, or an idol in this world, is something I could do.

“Nii-cha!”

“What is it, Yuuna?”

“Pick me up!”

“Okay, leave it to me.”

By the way, let me introduce you to my three-year-old sister, Yuuna. Ah, she’s such a cute little sister to have. But I thought Mana was pushing herself a bit too much, having a child and then another one a year later.

During that time, I was also left at the hospital, so there weren’t any particular problems on my side during the birthing of Yuuna.

By the way, my mother’s name is Kinoshita Mana. As you can probably guess, I call my mother by her given name. 

Well to be frank, she did say to me, ‘Do not call me by my give name’, since instead of ‘Mama’, I called her as ‘Mana’. 

In my previous life, it wasn’t uncommon for children to call their parents by their names, although it wasn’t really the norm.

Also, in my previous life, I didn’t have a sister, so I’m happy about that matter. And Yuuna calls me “Nii-cha” and adores me. Yep, I’m definitely going to dote on her.

“Nii-cha’s body is so warm!”

“Is that so..?”

“Hehehe~♪”

She’s too cute. I hug her tightly, and she hugs me back. Then she rubs her face against my chest… She’s an angel, this girl.

Mana is at work today. It seems to be a weekend work shift. Yuuna’s nursery was closed, and I was basically free, which means Yuuna and I were home alone right now.

In this world, men don’t need to go to daycare or kindergarten. They can start going to elementary school, but it’s not mandatory. 

They can choose not to go if they don’t want to. It’s probably because the compulsory education for men starts from middle school.

Me? Of course, I’ll go. I have nothing better to do.

Well, it’s still two years away, though.

“Nii-cha, pet me!”

“Okay, okay.”

But for now, I need to pay attention to my angel of a sister. I wanted to raise her to be a girl who won’t rebel against her brother. As if she ever said, “Shtty brother” I probably won’t have the power to stand up again. 

Yuuna sits on my lap as I sit cross-legged, as I can’t, realistically, pet her while holding her up, and she leans against my body. This is our usual position when we watch TV or play games in the living room. Mostly kid’s shows are showing around this time though, so I was reasonably bored.

“It is okay if I play a game?”

“Yeah!”

Yuuna doesn’t really play games, although she do likes seeing me play them it seems. Well I do like watching people play games too, specifically FPS, or horror games, but it seems it wasn’t normal as Mana and Yuuna were really adamant on keeping me away from doing that again, so I am only able to watch those when I’m alone.

The game I’m going to play is Super Maria. Something that most kids around my age would reasonably play.

“Well then, let’s do this, shall we?”

“Go~ Nii~cha!!”

“Leave it to me!”

Our position was the same as earlier, Yuuna was sitting on my lap as she snuggles to me.

I finished one round of the game, but I got bored of it already. Why is it I wonder? It’s kind of, like, the controls just doesn’t seem to be too complicated, and I just couldn’t see it as an enjoyable game it seems.

“Nii-cha, sleepy.”

“Do you want to sleep?”

“……Yeah.”

She must have gotten bored too. Maybe it would have been better to watch an anime instead.

Anyway, I spread out a futon. It’s not good for the body to sleep directly on the floor. Then I take a blanket out of the closet.

“Yuuna, I’ve prepared it.”

“Thank you, Nii-cha.”

She rubs her eyes and plops her body down on the futon.

But I’m not sleepy, so I just…

“……Nii-cha, come here too.”

“Sure.”

I lie down next to Yuuna.

You can’t really refuse a creature like this, can you? In fact, I’d like to see someone who would refuse this.

Then, after confirming that I was lying next to her, Yuuna uses my arm as a pillow and falls asleep facing me.

“Good night.”

“Yeah, sweet dreams.”

I also cover her with a blanket.

I like the lively atmosphere, but I also appreciate the calm daily life. In middle and high school, I had fun hanging out with my otaku friends.

And so, I fell asleep.

But when I woke up, Mana was also using my arm as a pillow and sleeping. I didn’t want to wake her, so I tried to go back to sleep…

But my arm was hurting, so I couldn’t sleep at all.
