Let me be a mob! - Chapter 67- Second thoughts?
Dark Magic.
A field of mage arts that in the current era and also in the past, people never appreciated nor let it become a legal practice amongst the masses because of several reasons.
Dark Magic is just the opposite, in a way anti of the Light Magic which every hero candidate carries. However, unlike Light Magic, Darkness can be obtained by anyone regardless of age, gender, or race.
Light Magic, the blessings of God require a strong will and the urge to bring great changes in society that make a person worthy to be blessed by deities. Many people in the past and now as well, refuse to accept this logic but it was a proven truth that mostly every candidate with the attribute of Light Magic has become a figure of dependence and someone who has brought good riches to humanity.
However, Dark Magic doesn’t ask for one’s motivation or what one desires, to bestow with supernatural powers. To attain darkness one needs to fulfill only one requirement.
Sacrifice.
Not only Dark Magic needs a decent amount of soul but the user also faces major side effects of the said mage arts. However, it’s also a fact that Dark Magic offers a wide range and efficient skills to the user. But the problem remains that those pursuing the criminal act of sacrifice do not take the consequential factors into account. They just desire power and play ignorant about how they are feeding away their life force.
Amongst varieties of Dark magics, there is a spell named [Soul Partition]. As the name suggests, one can cut their soul into pieces and create a replication of themselves. However, the replication would not hold the same strength and skills as the original body. Additionally, the original user would also feel a number of setbacks during the use of the spell. More number of replications mean giving away their life force at a higher rate and shortening their life along with it.
More so the original body also loses some portion of its natural strength and physical capabilities when they create replication, thus until not really necessary, even the dark magician does not prefer using the spell.
As it apparently seems, weakening oneself to create a twin is not a wise choice in most scenarios. Yet, just to frame someone you are jealous of, a prime example of a fool has got himself trapped in the end.
-This monologue is brought to you by your favorite, Rena. Thank you.

[Jin’s POV:]
“So was your plan, right? Sad, you are not the only one aware of Dark arts.”
Truth be told, after reincarnation, I tried researching Dark Magic but found nothing. If not for my previous life knowledge from the novel, I might have long fallen into his trap.
The bespectacled minor antagonist followed another plan to frame Aiden but laughably he can only try to trap someone, not directly hit them. He would have killed the other two seniors and if possible some of my teammates to get me jailed.
Seriously, how can someone become this crazed in love-
‘Wait, compared to ‘her’ this much is nothing…’
“You bastard! Let me go right in this instance! My father will destroy each of your families one by one if something happens to me!!”
He can only shout now since unable to kill himself. The Vice-President Phil present in front of us is just a mere replication of his true self. The real body is actually already in Dungeon City with Amanda.
“But you never told us that you have included seniors in the plan as well, Jin?”
Rena narrowed her eyes in complaint since I never told my teammates that the Advisor and the Treasurer of the council were also in this with me. If not for Amanda’s help I could have never been able to pursue them.
“You should have guessed it the very moment when that shitty shapeshifter showed her true face.” The blondie spoke with a snicker followed by the other senior.
“It’s impossible for some impostor to be President and fool us who has been with her since the first year. But it’s rather surprising how Phil got his hand on a shapeshifter with such ease?”
Just as Maegen said, finding a shapeshifter is like picking a needle in a pile of grass but Phil has the greatest resource locked in his locker.
Money.
Nothing is out of reach if you have a decent amount of cash. And remembering this pink head from the novel, I remember this one is actually the personnel of Phil’s father.
“Does it matter? I am more interested to know how a Dark Arts practitioner was able to escape the almighty Principle of the Academy?”
Aiden pulled everyone’s attention as I surveyed the mana around the barrier Silvie has cast on the antagonist. Seriously, this would have been nearly impossible without her help since not only she kept the seniors safe but her Absolute Bind also restrained Phil from killing himself.
As expected of the top-ranked mage who holds the greatest potential in Holy Magic of this century, I guess?
“This can only be answered by him.” Rena pointed at me…no, at Phil.
“Like hell, I will tell you all anything other than the fact how fucked up your future is. I warn you Maegen, Emily. I am aware of how important your graduation from Excalius is, and if a single fragment of me is damaged, I will ensure none of you can save yourself from drowning in eternal darkness.”
“…”
Silence ensued.
No one said anything after that, only the gasping breaths of the shithead resonated around.
I looked back at them, trying to see if there are any second thoughts to this arrangement, mana already running wildly across my nerves.
‘Three critical strikes on the left chest and back of the knee…Emily will require to call forth The Fenrir…hmm… ‘It was not something I was spontaneously planning but the preparation to go against any of these who were with me had already been done before the beginning of this trip.
However, against my cautiousness, Emily walked forward wordlessly before a tight slap was planted across the bespectacled bastard’s face, throwing off his glasses far away in the woods.
‘Ouch… ‘She earned my respect with that hit.
“You have already sinned your existence by walking on the path of Darkness. Even if my future gets ruined or I lose my life because of this, I would be satisfied that a scummy asshole such as you, is no longer in existence.”
…well, that settles many things. I sighed.

[Fiona’s POV:]
“Have you found them?”
Dia asked as I walked back to the camp.
“No…” I couldn’t help but grumble at my loser-like scouting skill.
I tried to look out for Jin’s carriage all around the place but nothing came up. It’s really frustrating, more so when I know that something was up.
Even though he did tell me that Rena and Silvie needed to be with him, I couldn’t help but feel jealous of them and angered at myself to be this weak.
“Hey, were you looking for Jin Carter just now?”
I hurriedly turned to look at the senior who voiced the name of the person whom I was desperate to see.
“Yes. Do you know anything about his whereabouts?”
I asked, neglecting the decorum of talking to the senior but against my expectations, she said something I regret hearing.
“Isn’t he dating Amanda these days? I have seen them fooling around campus some days ago.”
