Let me be a mob! - Chapter 56- Ascended?
“What were you thinking by taking leave just after getting appointed as the representative?”
Inside a moderately big room that had hundreds of files piled up and stacked messily around could be seen two figures. One of them who just got scolded was currently arranging the test papers for the second year according to the subject with a grumble leaving his throat every once in a while.
The one who reprimanded her student just now was none other than the homeroom professor of the first section of freshmen, Lisa who was currently in the process of punishing Jin for the sudden leave he took for some personal reasons.
“I told you it’s important enough to decide my fate yet here I am….life is just unfair.”
“Stop whining Jin. We both know I didn’t want to punish you but you left me no other option by being so irresponsible despite the role you have been delegated with.”
A class representative has many jobs in which they address the class, report to the teacher, help in the distribution of material, and keep an eye on the class as an extra pair of surveillance in the teacher’s absence.
It goes without saying that the presence of a representative meant a lot, more so when the class would be engaging in the practical field of knowledge.
Lisa knew despite being lazy Jin wouldn’t have taken his role as a joke. That much she has evaluated the boy for a brief period but she couldn’t just ignore the act and behave partially toward him.
“Then why don’t you relieve me from my duties and set someone more level-headed and diligent for the role?”
Lisa knew it was coming, considering Jin’s interest in remaining lowkey he passionately hated Lisa for choosing him as the representative three days ago. And if she says it was okay for Jin to leave his post, then Lisa knew the boy could not be any happier than that.
But…
“Don’t dream of that since you are stuck with the job for at least six months.”
“Che…demon.”
Despite being murmured, Lisa heard him and it didn’t seem he was doing much to hide his resentment either but all those complaints seemed adorable enough to bring a chuckle for the older one.
Some time passed and Lisa was done with her today’s work. Jin was also nearing the bottom when Lisa thought about something before she struck the conversation.
“What were you doing, after all, these two days? I mean, as a teacher I need to know if my students are busy with some unhealthy habits.”
Lisa was told by the headmaster to not let anyone approach Jin for an uncertain time without telling her the reason. That old wizard also commanded the boy’s dorm warden to not stop Silvie and Fiona from breaking the primary rule of the dorm.
However, she was as clueless as the warden about what was transpired in these two days to make the Headmaster take action for it. Although Lisa couldn’t sense much difference in Jin she still has a hunch that something has altered in him or he might have grown a little stronger since his presence seemed a little…majestic when he entered the class this morning.
“Help me and in return, I will show you.”
Lisa narrowed her gaze as the urge to reply in the same manner that a professor should have, risen greatly, but in the end, she just sighed and began sorting the papers with him.
It took half an hour before they left the office and approached the third Training ground built on the southwest of the academic block, but due to the site being dedicated to spell experimentation and practical exams, there were no buildings nearby for safety purposes.
There were some training tools like the Spell Resistant Panels which were square walls made of a particular kind of ore that nullifies all the elemental attacks and could be used as a perfect judgmental aspect for those who pursue as a warrior mage. It was immune to physical attacks to a decent extent as well.
Lisa has only seen two people in her life almost pulverizing these resistant pillars. First, was the Headmaster, and second was Professor Annie who is not around the academy for the time being. Lisa was able to put a dent in them through her raw strength but other than that…she couldn’t fathom what strength must those two must have in possession to result such drastically.
“P-Professor? Ah, good evening.”
“Good evening, ma’am.”
“Evening Professor L.”
“Good evening Professor.”
Surprisingly or not, there were four more students of hers were already present on the ground. Apart from Aiden, Dia, and Silvie, what irked Lisa was the frank nature of Rena who surely needs some punishment to let her know the true essence of the word discipline.
But she refrained for now before informing Jin of something she has noticed for a while now.
“We are being watched so if you don’t want…”
“I know, professor, but this is not something I could hide forever so it’s fine.”
Turned out Jin was aware of those visitors who were here in the academy for security purposes yet what they are doing currently was nothing related to their job when a professor was involved in this.
The others have also noticed those eleven people eyeing them but apart from Silvie and Aiden the other two were skeptical of their intentions.
“Please step back a little.”
Lisa raised her brows in curiosity before she obliged with Jin’s words just like the others.
Lisa had her eyes drawn to the ashy-haired boy but she was on guard as well taking the hidden entities into the equation. She didn’t know their intentions but as a responsible professor as she was, Lisa was not going to let some loose threads become a reason for her regrets.
“XXXXX-XX-XXXX-XXXXX”
The words which left Jin’s lips were foreign to Lisa and from the expressions of her students except for Silvie, it seemed everyone shared the same sense of helplessness as her.
Lisa did want to ask Silvie if she knew what Jin was muttering or what kind of mage arts it was but suddenly she sensed a pulse of energy, tremendous enough to make her wield her weapon.
Lisa’s eyes widened in shock when she noticed no new appearance had arrived and that mind-wobbling energy was being released by none other than Jin!
Lisa was not able to comprehend how the heck his mana reserve grew so exponentially to the point where she was now doubting Jin’s origin. In the first place, does he have that much reserve to store such terrifying energy?
“So he really has contracted with Great Undine huh…”
Lisa was not surprised by the sudden foreign voice since she sensed them approaching but didn’t bother to turn her head since her focus was now converged only on a single person.
A group of four elves arrived beside the students in which the blond one who looked superior to others spoke with his gaze unwavering from Jin…or to say the divinity who appeared around him.
Silvie would have cowered away by witnessing a village chief here but her mind was currently occupied with nothing but the person who has entered a realm where very few have ventured in the past. Dia, Rena, and Aiden had no idea what made the others so flabbergasted but the waves of energy had been keeping them on their toes as well.
Jin’s whole presence oozed with some divine energy with his hair now defying gravity and a strange aquamarine glow illuminating in front of his hand which he held straight ahead with his palm facing the resisting tablet which was some meters away.
The illumination greatly increased before something began to appear just inches away from Jin’s raised palm. It was a water orb of thirty centimeters in diameter.
At first, most of the audience thought Jin had acquired elemental skills but when the attack left the side of its conjuror every human standing at the sidelines had their mouths wide agape.
“Hölong.”
A single syllable left Jin’s throat before the water sphere suddenly launched forward at a speed that the other teenagers were not even able to catch a glimpse of. But that was not the focal point of the matter at all, rather the target…or to say targets it hit was the main point of concern.
Lisa with her eyes stretched wide stepped forward with only a single word formed inside her currently chaotic mind.
‘Ridiculous… ‘
Jin not only was able to penetrate through one but seven Resistant Pillars with that single attack and this feat was enough reason for Lisa to reconsider her decision regarding some particular subjects.
