Let me be a mob! - Chapter 22- Special treatment?
There were many students among the freshmen who had given half an hour time after homeroom which made the corridor slightly bit crowded compared to the morning.
However, for a certain group consisting of five people, those mentioned masses were providing space so the said group could walk through. It wasn’t their duty or it was not like they were asked to make space, rather it was just their instinct which told the other students to not get across these five flashing faces.
These five people consisted of the top-ranked Aiden along with the four girls laying in the top 6 first-year rankings.
After Rena invited Fiona and Dia, they all decided to have something to eat together, and since both the noble blood had no other friends besides each other, they also accept the proposal.
Surprisingly, the all-time-reserved Silvie was also talking from time to time albeit a little shy. It was because of Rena’s outgoing personality and Aiden’s gentle approach that Silvie was able to open herself to a small extent.
All five of them had varying yet unique charms which made people halt in their movements and turn their heads to look in this specific group’s direction and admire them in awe.
“Nee, have you guys heard about the dorms? It seems the academy provides exclusive services for th premium students only.”(Rena)
It was a known fact that the Academy favors high-performing students over the average ones to motivate the low-ranking students to do better and so on. This system of partial behavior was rebelled against in the past but to no avail.
Excalius academy grants a student what they are worth. If someone wants to be fairly judged and treated then they have to do their best in the evaluation test.
“It’s true since I heard that students between one to ten are provided their separate training ground and servant as well to take care of them.”
Replied Dia which earned a surprised reaction from Aiden who never knew about the perks of being top-ranked. He just joined the academy to make his social circle and also learn new things which he couldn’t have on his own. Researching the academy never crossed his mind since the popularity of this place was enough for Aiden to feel compelled to join.
The group kept talking with Fiona and Silvie putting their minimal words in between as they walked inside the cafeteria which was fairly crowded.
However, upon their arrival most of the eyes were directed in their direction, instantly hushing down the crowd in the process. The chattering was brought to an abnormal hold because of this group’s arrival which was kind of bizarre as well.
Most of the five were used to being treated like royalty or something along those lines but for Aiden, who has seldom come in contact with the civilians, it was really an awkward stance to be in.
“Ah, Princess Dia. Weren’t you in the Levitation attribute then how come you are on the sixth rank?”
Fiona glared at the short-haired girl for asking such a rude thing in response to which Rena tilted her head in fake confusion despite knowing why she earned that gaze from the silver-haired maiden.
But soon Fiona retracted her gaze when she felt Dia squeezing her hand in understanding as the princess responded in an unaffected tone.
“Well I was outmatched by a certain someone, that’s it.”
Rena never thought that the royal highness would be so easygoing to answer such a thing without much change of expression. However, hearing Dia’s response along with Rena, all the other three also raised their brows in surprise.
“The fifth-ranked, what was his name again…umm…”
“J-Jin Carter.”
Just when Fiona was about to respond since she has already researched Jin, surprisingly it was the quiet Silvie who raised her voice, gaining attention from the others.
Jin might be top-ranked but he was not as popular as Fiona, Dia, or Rena who come from prominent families. Nor Jin was a rumored guy like Aiden to have multiple attributes yet Silvie seemed too certain about the boy.
“Hoh~ So our little Silvie has such a taste.”
Rena teased the girl as they all took a table in the middle which had just five seats around. Silvie covered herself in her hood while trying to hide the redness her cheeks adored as she answered with a small pout.
“It wasn’t that he is of my taste or something. I just took notice of him since he was late even on the first day…Ah, please don’t mind my words, Your Highness…”
Realizing how fluently she insulated the royal highness since Dia was late as well, made Silvie panic as she hurriedly apologized only to get a shake of her head and a smile from Dia who really didn’t mind such a trivial thing.
The others were conversing about here and there mostly about the training session which would follow, however, Aiden had his eyes fixated on a single ash shade hair boy sitting in a corner and enjoying his bun like he was in total bliss.
‘Jin Carter huh…’
__________
The classes resumed after half an hour. All the first year which comprised around a hundred units were directed to the indoor training ground built in the different blocks of the academy.
There are a total of seven blocks. Two were academically focused, two were for physical training and extracurricular activities, the reddish brown block was where all the professor’s office was situated and the remaining two were dedicated to the library and student dorms.
The inner dojo of Excalius academy was enormous, to say the least with every ancient and exclusive piece of equipment arranged at different sides. There were several dojo rings spread across the floor for student sparring and practical demonstrations.
The ceiling was almost thirty feet apart from the ground and made up conically with a special kind of material that could be switched in order to let the Immersion type user be bathed in their life essence. There were artifacts for that purpose as well but the attribute users preferred more organic energy.
There were two men standing near every dojo in martial art uniform with the emblem of the academy imprinted on their chest and eyes focused straight despite being gazed at by the students from all around.
Jin curiously got on one of the dojo mats and felt his feet sink for about three centimeters and the material used in the mat, he was unable to determine. It was just he felt mana signatures from the mat, signifying that the dojo ground had some special effect as well.
Everyone was directed toward changing room before coming here in order to get the students to wear their martial arts dress which comprised of a pair of loose thick clothed pants however they were comfortable enough for Jin to have a full stretch unrestrained. And for the top then it was a long jacket used in karate with thick strapping around the neck. There was also a small emblem of the academy on students’ chests with both genders providing similar kinds of martial art uniforms except for the color.
The girls were given white and the boys had black all over them.
Students began to gasp and sigh in awe upon seeing the new beautiful teacher with cyan blue hair and similar shade eyes who was at the mana evaluation center as well. Her tight-fitting uniform gave away her womanly curves which were hidden behind the table during evaluation.
With her fingers in front of her face, the woman chimed in a cheerful tone.
“For the orientation, we would have a friendly spar among the students and those who win would be granted their first of the points. Of course, using mana and life-threatening attacks are banned for today since we are just casually sparring but any other than that is absolutely allowed. So now don’t be shy and come draw your pairing numbers~”
