Let me be a mob! - Chapter 19- Aiden\'s awkwardness!
Coming from a common place where he had not many people to associate with and in name of acquaintances, only the residents of the wilderness, Aiden Lancelot had very less social awareness of things that people call normal or what they define as an anomaly.
After his parents died in a monster attack when he was at the age of five, Aiden has only been traveling around the place while training and honing his skills through practical life experience. Since he had his fair share of betrayal in life, he naturally grew wary of strangers, mostly of older age, which led him to social isolation.
Aiden was an excellent warrior and a rumored unique five attribute holder but when it comes to socializing and measuring things in terms of the norm, Aiden finds himself in the utmost difficulty.
Such an example was the physical assessment test in which he performed without holding back and created a record that not only astonished his peers but also made the instructor in charge panic.
And now that show-off resulted in Aiden in being the center of most of the attraction since the rank Aiden got was nothing short of an attention grabber.
‘Why didn’t I hold back…’
Grumbling to himself Aiden dropped his bag on the first desk where being the first rank holder, he was designated to sit. He was not that much regretful of his performance since Aiden enjoyed fighting and using his skills, but still, the limelight he was showered in was a little bit suffocating.
Just like near the scoreboard a minute ago, where just like him every freshman went to check their ranking based on the assessment results, seeing his name on the top many people started murmuring and gossiping about him, in the face.
Some called him a boot-licking bas*ard who must have cheated his way on the scoreboard and some were calling him a prodigy or sort. Those who saw his physical evaluation were like ‘it was to be expected’ and those of high noble values like the blond who was creating a fuss in the morning, then they were just clicking their tongue and marking Aiden as their target.
‘Well, not like it would be that troublesome, right…’
Shaking his head in self-denial, Aiden looked toward the entrance from where a familiar face walked in and began searching the classroom before her eyes rested on Aiden, and a smug spread across her lips.
Her shoulder-length hazelnut brown hair gave her a refreshing look complimented by her chocolaty golden eyes which shone brightly as the girl approached Aiden with a cocky smile about which the boy was entirely aware.
“Didn’t I say, you will radiate now…”
The girl was also in the same assessment center as Aiden because of similar attributes. When Aiden finished his evaluation, there were not many people who came to talk to him unlike before the test. But just this one girl walked toward him and said the same thing she did now with the same cocky grin.
At that time Aiden was not able to understand what the weird girl meant. But now…
“Haha…thanks for the heads-up.”
Aiden fake laughed at the joke as he saw the girl taking the seat beside him. The desks were made for a person each and there was a decent distance between each desk but still, her caramel fragrance permeated profoundly enough to make Aiden flustered.
“My name, Rena Fulgger. And you?”
Aiden wiped his mocking laugh because of the girl’s sudden change of subject as he hurriedly introduced himself as well.
“Uh…Aiden Lancelot. Nice to meet you, Miss Fulgger.”
“Drop that formality and call me Rena. I indeed am a noble but that doesn’t matter since we are all equals in this place, right?”
Aiden was taken aback slightly since the nobles he has come across in the past, were either too egoistic enough to avoid him or arrogant enough to pick up on Aiden. Seeing Rena this humble and down-to-earth surely made him a little baffled.
But he didn’t ponder on it too much and with a smile respected her kindness.
“Okay, then Rena. Please take care of me from now on.”
“Likewise, Mr. Prodigy.”
Aiden closed his eyes with his brows raised up as with a sigh he accepted that this new acquaintance was a little too cheeky for sure.
Soon people began to walk inside the classroom designated for students ranking 1 to 25 on the list, sitting according to their ranks. There were five desks in one row and five columns in total. Students with a ranking ranging from one to five were designated in the first row and so on.
It was up to students how they pick their seats until they were in their row which was why Rena despite being ranked four, chose the second seat beside the top ranker.
Soon another familiar face entered the class which brought a smile to Aiden’s lips as he saw the same hooded girl he came across in the morning, who was being harassed by that blonde noble.
Feeling Aiden’s gaze, the bespectacled beauty grew flustered as she hurriedly walked up to the third seat just in front of the teacher’s podium and plopped down to hide from Aiden.
Being ignored, Aiden blinked in confusion but soon he shrugged it off as he saw the next person walking inside.
Her majestic and elegant aura was dazzling enough to hush down the class as the silver-haired maiden made her way toward the fourth seat in the first row. Her blue eyes remained focused straight without matching her gaze with anyone despite being eyed from all around.
Her every movement, whether it was her gracious walking posture or her fingers tucking her free-fallen hair, made everyone sigh in awe and let themsleves fall into a daze because of the scenery in front.
Naturally, seeing her cold attitude, no one tried to approach the beauty and just sat there while gazing at the girl all satisfied. However, there was a certain someone who moved toward the girl, catching everyone’s attention and Fiona’s as well.
“Ummm…”
Fiona lifted her gaze only to stare at a familiar guy she saw in the morning and was slightly impressed about as well. The reason was of course because he was the only one daring enough to stand against someone as infamous as Brad despite being a commoner.
“Yes?”
Despite having a slight impression, the boy was not someone she was acquainted with, which made her reply as stiff as she usually retains dealing with new people.
Aiden knew the girl was not someone like Rena who was a natural extrovert by her first impression, that was why the raven-haired guy kept his words short and to the point without any intention to beat around.
“About the morning. Thanks for the help since if you haven’t intervened I might have gotten myself expelled just on the first day.”
Fiona was not unaware of the fact that Aiden was about to lose his temper in the morning and also knowing his ranking in the score list she was sure he would have beat the shit out of Brad if the situation has elevated if not for her interruption.
So hearing his genuine sounding gratitude, Fiona smile slightly and replied in a softer tone.
“As I said. It’s okay. And next time if you ever get confronted against some arrogant young master, I would advise you to better think patiently before you jump on violence.”
Aiden was fully aware of why Fiona was saying such since despite being entirely free from the social hierarchy, this school still had staff members and professors who supported the noble children more than commoners.
With a beaming smile, he nodded before he returned to his seat where Rena began questioning Aiden about what it was all about. Since the short-haired girl arrived late she was not able to enjoy the morning drama or she surely would have interfered and probably would have made the matter worse as from what Aiden has observed from the girl.
Another ten minutes passed and most of the students were already in their seats silently waiting for the homeroom. What grabbed most of the students’ including Fiona, Rena, and Aiden attention was the two unoccupied seats.
Fiona had a small frown contouring her face since she knew one of the two who should be in the class by now. Her friend and sworn sister, Princess Dia whom Fiona met in the morning and promised to walk to the classroom together after the assessment yet Fiona hasn’t seen the princess ever since.
But before she could have thought to go out and search for Dia, the homeroom in charge arrived in the classroom.
“Morning class.”
“”Good morning, Professor.””
Most of the girls in the class greeted the professor back since the boys except for Aiden and some others from the back, were in a complete daze as they saw the woman walking up to the aisle.
Her violet hair was braided in a bun giving away the full exposure of her slender thin neck which had no blemish at all, just a tiny drop of sweat that only enhanced her seductiveness. Her violet eyes which were covered behind thin-framed glasses took a brief look around the class and rested on some specific students.
Her figure was curvaceous and dangerous enough to make boys mainly teens go wild in their fantasy just by looking at this certain teacher who was rumored to be a succubus or sort despite the proven fact that the lady was purely human.
She currently had formal black trousers along with a white striped shirt which gave a detailed scene of her curves and perfect figure which a woman could ever dream of.
Shooing away the dazed look she was receiving from various males, Lisa Reigner, the homeroom in charge of class 1-A, parted her lips to start the class with an introduction when suddenly the door of the classroom was again parted and revealed the figures of two certain individuals.
“Sorry~ We were caught up in a chat and lost our way, Professor ~’
