Let me be a mob! - Chapter 117- Reunion?
Demon Lord…huh.
The Demon Lord of Darkness or the Monarch of Chaos. The being who terrorized humanity for decades and changed the shape of the world under his sheer strength and unwilling attitude of never yielding.
Canonically, when the Demon Lord would resurrect, all the demons, regardless of whom they were serving before the resurrection, would submit to the true Demon Lord and another war would ensue.
This time, the holder of the Holy Sword was Aiden, and the only being who had the affinity with all the five attributes. He would be the only person who can attain the blessing of the Heavens and purge the Demon Lord. However, there would be a twist.
That twist would require another demi-human warrior apart from Aiden. And basically, that demi-human was supposed to be me–Jin Carter.
‘Damn…I feel like an unemployed useless trash…’
Lying on the bed with my head on the ground and my lower body resting over the bed, I stared at the wall opposite me.
It has been a day since I contacted Fiona…and because of what I said near the end, Alzeith(who was spying on me) again restricted my magic and left me in the room.
If not for some urgent work she might have ‘punished’ me in the old way. However, it seems that being a Demon Monarch doesn’t allow her to remain leisurely for long.
“Having Alzeith’s support would be so nice…I would be able to use her skills to convince the emperor to support my decision…” Alzeith is a succubus and she has some stimulant spells that blend in the air and whoever intakes the spell-imbued air would get mentally weakened.
More than anything Alzeith herself was overly powerful. Someone stronger than Lisa and the headmaster of our team would be a huge plus.
I know it was inevitable for me to become the Spirit Ruler, but as long as it doesn’t become mandatory, I want to avoid it.
Sacrificing my humanity to become the ruler of the spirits would make my senses go dull and I might attack my allies. And from what my daughter told me, Dia had to sacrifice herself to stop my future self from harming others.
‘Quite messy….wait!’ Suddenly I thought about something that made me jump in excitement.
If under necessary circumstances where losing isn’t an option, if I have to sacrifice my humanity in such a situation then I surely might lose control. However, around these times when the world is still at peace if I try to become the Spirit Lord and somehow gain control over it…
‘Sounds nearly impossible but who cares. Let’s get on with it.’

“Dia…are you sure we are doing the right thing? The capital would be in an uproar hearing that the Princess is missing.”
It was around midnight when Fiona and Dia could be seen walking slowly into the forest situated on the backside of the palace.
The palace was heavily guarded however living here for the past sixteen years, Dia knew more than one route from where she could escape if things came down to it.
“Dont make me any more nervous Fiona. I am already at the edge.”
Dia was not like Fiona who dares to do something first and think about the consequences later. Dia has always been a gentle and diligent kind of daughter in her parent’s and siblings’ eyes. For her to escape with her friend to search for the boy she adores…indeed, this was the far most riskiest and exciting venture for Dia.
“But from where we would start searching for him? Except for the fact that Jin is taken captive by the Succubus queen, we don’t have any other information. We don’t even know the route to enter the Demonic realm.”
Fiona asked some realistic questions that needed to be ascertained before they could make any move. Although Fiona was also not going to stay idle, it was also a fact that she didn’t know, where to start from.
The reason why they decided to leave without telling anyone was because of Dia’s family situation and the recent incident that occurred in Excalius Academy, as such Dia wouldn’t have been allowed to go.
However now, hearing Fiona’s question, Dia was having doubts,
“….where should we go, Fiona?”
Her face was paler than the moon as she looked at her friend for help.
Fiona sighed. She intended to discuss this matter with the other three since they were the only ones who might help Fiona and Dia in this rescue mission. Although she decided to leave for the academy tomorrow morning, it wasn’t a big deal if they left in the middle of the night as well.
“Let’s just get going. We will find a carriage and search for the nearest teleportation center.” Fixing Dia’s hood which was hiding her peculiar golden hair, she suggested.
“Teleportation center…are we heading to Excalius directly? Wouldn’t the headmaster inform our families right away?”
“Then what do you su-“. Fiona’s words fell short as she suddenly twirled on her feet and faced the direction from where she perceived the presence of an unknown entity.
Dia also sensed the presence as she took out her twin daggers and stood beside Fiona.
“Here it comes!” Fiona yelled before she jumped toward her right and pushed Dia in the process
Suddenly, a short blade traveled past the place where Fiona stood a moment ago at an astonishing pace.
Fiona’s body was enveloped in lightning before she changed the direction of her body mid-air and darted like a living lightning bolt toward the target.
The figure of a human, not taller than Fiona appeared at some distance, however, before Fiona could apprehend the person, their figure just disappeared and what appeared at that place was the bark of a tree.
‘Illusion?!’
Fiona’s control over her body has improved over time as such she didn’t find it challenging to reduce her speed to zero inches away from the trunk of the tree.
*Clang*
Fiona turned her focus towards the sky where Dia clashed against the unknown person.
The collision created a spark but it didn’t last longer as the hooded figure was not capable of levitating, unlike Dia.
Fiona determined the spot where the figure would be landing before she crouched and planted all her ten fingers against the ground.
“Thunder Spiral!”
The spell of pinpointing certain coordinates and creating a pillar of electricity. The spell was highly complicated but took very little mana to initiate.
The figure was caught mid-air in the sparkles and a loud shriek erupted from within the hood.
*Dhak*
As the body of the unknown figure dropped to the ground, Fiona and Dia marched towards it with their weapons in hand.
However, the moment they reached the person, their eyes widened in shock.
“Rena?!” It was Dia who exclaimed upon finding the person whose face appeared from behind the hood
“Eheh~I thought I would defeat you two on my own…guess, I went ahead of myself.”
Fiona extended a hand and helped Rena get up.
“Thanks.”
Rena thanked Dia who handed her a recovery potion.
The commotion died down soon and thankfully no nearby guard was alerted.
“So Rena…why are you here?” Fiona asked—still a little wary.
Rena was not surprised by her treatment since it was the first time Rena was talking to Fiona. Other than Jin and Dia, Fiona doesn’t trust anyone in their group.
However, that doesn’t matter now.
With her face turning serious, Rena looked at Dia and Fiona alternatively before landing shocking news,
“I have a clue about Jin…or to be precise, I can pinpoint the location where he is right now.”
