The old lady game that won’t turn into a psychological warfare.
The game of: Old lady-
Immediately after Pearl drew a card from Fei’s hand, Reche didn’t miss the moment she trembled.
“Say Pearl?”
“Wa~ ah Yes!? What is it, Reche san!”
“I just got a bit curious”.
Reche’s mouth turns into a grin.
But her eyes were not smiling. Instead, she was staring intently at Pearl’s face.
“Why is your expression so clouded while we are in the middle of such a fun game?”
“I—I am smiling super-happily though!?”
“Why is your voice all twitchy?”
“Ah my voi—ce—what pa—rt of it i—is twith—twitching!?”
“And even those your fingertips holding the cards─”
“It’s not shaking!”
Pearl howled.
That too with an impatient voice just like when a child does to call upon his parents when they are sitting far away.
“Reche san! It’s not going to happen the way you want to, even if you try me with your mind games. There is no evidence from this turn that I have pulled out the old maid!”
“With all this evidence right in front?”
“Yes! The card I drew from Fei san was nothing more than sim─”
“It’s the old maid.”
“Fei san!”
Pearl screamed.
“wa—wa—WHY ARE YOU REVEALING IT! It’s against the rules to tell the other players about what card has been drawn in the game of the old maid!”
“No, well, it’s already all clear to everyone here … So, I just thought that it was okay.”
At present we were playing the game of old maid among the three of us.
The old maid that Pearl drew was perfectly clear to Fei, who originally had it.
And incidentally, Reche knows it, too. The reason being that the very old maid in Fei’s hand was the result of getting it from Reche in his turn to choose.
“Well in the first place, I put the old maid as it was when I drew that from Reche. So, if one had followed the move properly, it would have been very clear that the same old maid that I got from Reche is the very one you drew now.”
The only one who didn’t see it was Pearl. To tell you why─
“Pearl, your hands have stopped again.”
“Waa, … ah sorry.”
Pearl picked up the three handbills she had placed on her own thighs.
And because of that very moment.
“You know, Pearl, you have this habit of taking the rightmost or second to the rightmost card from your right.”
“Eh …?”
“In the five games we played before, it so happened that you pulled from there forty-eight times, and twenty-three respectively. I thought that if I put it here, you would pull it up eventually.”
“That kind of habit … so that was why I was getting the last spot from a while ago?”
Actually, one more thing.
“Two blinks” the moment you draw the old maid.
It seems to be an unconscious habit of trying to relieve her tension when she’s thinking about something.
… I think I will keep this one as my little secret.
And it’s fun to watch as well …
After that.
“By the way, Fei san, I’ve been thinking about asking you something for a while now.”
As if she remembered something, Pearl suddenly looked at him.
“The place we were headed/invited to is the holy spring city of Mar-La, right? Are we, the three of us, going to challenge the “Play of Gods” by ourselves over there?”
“No. It appears that their branch members will also participate with us. That’s what Miranda said.”
The Play of Gods is a Game of Gods vs. a Number of Humans.
In addition to the three of us, there is one replenisher.
“I think it’s about time that on the other side as well, they are gathering several volunteers to play the “Play of Gods” with us.”
“… about that matter.”
“Don’t you think we need more teammates too? We can’t just join with another team every time.”
The ideal scenario is to challenge the “Play of Gods” with our own proper team.
Roughly around ten people.
However, it does not mean that we can gather other members at random.
“We need people who are in tune with us and would readily cooperate with us. Also, as I mentioned before, it would be good to get someone with a divine spell that we can rely on. Someone like Pearl.”
“UUOoh!? You count on me! …even though I know it’s just flattery, it really makes me pleasantly happy.”
“No, no, no. I really mean what I am saying right now.”
Pearl Diamond is a Teleportation ability user.
The divine spell, which Pearl herself named was the “Whimsical Traveller,”; that can activate two types of transference.
─ ① “Instantaneous Transference”.
Where two transfer rings are placed within a radius of 30 meters, and the user can move freely between the two locations.
However, it cannot be activated consecutively. It takes 30 seconds of processing time to reactivate.
─ ② “Phase Exchange”.
Swaps the current location of a person with another person or an object with another object.
However, the target must have passed through the transition ring in (1) within the last three minutes, or the object (person) must be being touched by Pearl herself.
… Usually, it’s just one or the other in case of other divine spells.
… But we can actually use two Pearls in the same team.
Depending on how they are used, it can even turn the aspect of the “Play of Gods” upside down.
While on the flip side. With Pearl being so good at her job, the bar for new teammates is automatically raised up.
“For example, what Pearl and I aren’t good at is sports-type games. It might be reassuring to have a reliable teammate for games like tag or even clown races. So, in that case, a superhuman type eh. By the way, what preferences would you like, Pearl? Like, what kind of teammate would you want, or what kind of person you would never?”
“Eh? About my preferences? Well, I don’t have a specific one for any kind of divine spell as such.”
Pearl folds her arms in thought.
Even though because of this, her hand were in full view now;
The said person seems oblivious of that fact somehow.
“I’m kind of a scaredy-cat, so people with scary faces or loud voices, can be the ones I might find it hard with. What about Reche san?”
“Me? Anyone who loves playing game is welcome. Just that, if I must add.”
Reche stares blankly at front.
Even though it was Pearl who was sitting right in front and facing her, it seemed that Reche’s expression and her line of sight was not at Pearl’s expression or face.
While staring intently at the two profound huge bulges intently which was resting on the folded arms of Pearl ─
“… I can’t forgive those women who have got a part of their body larger than a prescribed amount.”
“What are you looking at!?”
“Your Pectoral Majors.”
“Unexpectedly it was my muscles!?”
“Anyways! I can’t accept that there are more women with bigger breasts and buttocks than mine. Rather bring me a little girl! I don’t care even if it’s a man.”
Reshe’s declaration echoed inside the train.
“Don’t you feel the same, Fei?”
What a lovely and pretty look…
Even so, for some reason I can’t stop feeling chills when you look at me with that smile.
“… I will do my best.”
Fei nodded fearfully.
