“Are you okay, Kaoru-san? Please don’t push yourself.”
“Yeah… Thanks, Noa-chan.”
A few years have passed since I started dating Reo-kun that day. Everyone has graduated from high school, gone on to college or found a job, and we are all living smoothly in a shared house.
Today was a holiday. Noa-chan, Sakura, and I were relaxing in the living room. Reo-kun and the others had gone shopping at the shopping mall. Noa-chan and Sakura had stayed behind for me.
“…I wonder which it will be.”
“You still don’t know?”
I gently rubbed my growing belly and replied to Noa-chan, “That’s right.” Noa-chan then called out to Sakura, who was in the kitchen, with a slightly teasing tone.

Sakura started to give the boy a stern warning, even though it was already past noon. The boy, feeling awkward, turned his face away and muttered.
“…No, I wasn’t.”
“Really? Because I could ask Nanami-san and find out.”
“…Just a little.”
“Seriously. I taught you not to lie.”
While watching Sakura scold her own son, I whispered to Noa-chan about how Sakura had changed.
“…I can’t believe Sakura would say something like that.”
“…I know. She was so different back then.”
“Hey! I can hear you!”
“”Sorry.””
After we both apologized profusely to Sakura, the boy came over to me and asked me with a curious look on his face.
“Is the baby going to be born soon?”
“No, not yet. When the baby is born, you’ll have to be nice to him as his older brother, okay?”
“Yes… Huh? The baby is Grandma’s baby…huh?”
“Let’s ask Papa later for the details, okay?”
As the topic was getting complicated, Sakura stepped in and decided to postpone explaining the overly complex family tree, passing the responsibility to Reo-kun.
