- Chapter 48 – The Classroom Atmosphere Isn't Good!
Some time had passed since enrollment, but with Misty, there was nothing special beyond simple greetings.
When I glanced at her, our eyes did not meet, we did not eat lunch together, and there were no romantic comedy elements like ‘wall-slams’ or falling after bumping into each other in the hallway.
Ahhh, I had no motivation. I was losing the will to try hard.
Besides, this was a romance game world, right? We were in the same class, sitting next to each other, but no lovey-dovey events were happening at all—what was going on? Was this a trash game? Where should I file a complaint?
By the way, speaking of events, there was Rubert’s report about mediating when two southern counts fighting over a territorial dispute almost came to blows. I did not care about events involving two old men fighting! I wrote a message praising Rubert for mediating well.
When subordinates did good work, one must praise them—it was a small thing, but this was important.
Now then, those guys were fine.
I could grudgingly accept that romance events were not happening. More problematic was that a different kind of event was about to occur.
“Hey, you’re in the way!”
“Sorry…”
A guy deliberately walked through the middle of classmates having a fun conversation, utterly ruining the atmosphere.
Levin Lindl.
True to his name, he was apparently the son of the current ruler of the Lindl Duchy. He had a confident face and was of average height and weight.
His personality was marked by high pride, and he basically looked down on kingdom nobles of Count rank and below. Well, they actually were below him. He was probably studying abroad, much like Toprak.
That much was fine.
“…………”
He silently glared at me as I watched the situation, resting my chin on my hand.
I averted my eyes as if I had no interest.
Apparently, he disliked me. I wondered why. The only thing I could think of was that I had once poached Lindl Duchy’s chief knight. I had done nothing else besides that.
Trouble within the class was problematic.
By the way, the class atmosphere was not very good.
Among the girls, a quiet factional dispute was occurring between Misty and another Marquis’s daughter.
—That said, the outcome was mostly decided, and the winner was Misty.
On one side, there was a Marquis’s daughter who was stuck-up and acted superior. On the other side was a Marquis’s daughter who did not talk much herself but responded friendly when spoken to. Misty’s popularity among the girls was tremendous.
Though both were daughters of Marquises, Misty being nominally a royal fiancée with good looks and a pleasant personality meant people naturally gathered around her and her ‘believers’ increased.
So, without even fighting, they were divided into first and second groups. Though she had fallen behind, the other girl’s eyes burned with rivalry, suggesting more trouble seemed likely.
And as for the boys, the situation was even more scattered.
First, I was not popular. Though I was the First Prince, my reputation as a useless prince from childhood was dragging me down.
I should have been doing various things like hosting parties and mediating between nobles, but I wondered why the results were not spreading much. Was I perhaps receiving some invisible harassment?
People who actually interacted with me understood the truth, however. Anyway, because of that, I had not become friends with anyone. I did not talk to people, and no one talked to me.
Leaving the first half aside, there was another reason for the latter half: Levin. Because Levin was present, hostile toward me and intimidating those around, there was likely a perception that being friendly with me would earn Levin’s glare. Extremely troublesome.
Also, there was Toprak Seiran, who could be called neutral. He did nothing in particular, simply watching without taking any action.
By the way, Toprak, whom I saw after several years, had become very handsome. His face was attractive as a child, but he had grown taller, and though it was over his uniform, he seemed muscular, as if he had been training.
Brown skin with silver hair and eyebrows, and yellow eyes with sex appeal. Truly, a desert prince was here.
I was secretly a bit anxious, thinking maybe Misty would switch her affection from me to him… but looking at Misty’s behavior, she seemed particularly uninterested, so I was relieved.
So there were quite a few neutrals who did not approach either me or Levin. Really, I was a prince, you know? Everyone, I wanted them to show the spirit of wrapping around the long thing. Though I did not know which was longer, and for all I knew, I might just be a mud boat that was only long at the bow.
Next, regarding classes. This school’s classes studied subjects in various areas:
- Language
- Arithmetic
- History
- Geography
- The situation surrounding the kingdom (modern society)
- Botany
- Pharmacology
- General education, etc.
Different teachers taught each subject.
By the way, the studies were not difficult at all. Arithmetic started from the four basic operations, and I had been reading books since childhood and was quite knowledgeable about history and geography.
Especially regarding pharmacology and botany, which everyone groaned were difficult—I already knew such plants and medicines existed.
Since it was not studying from zero knowledge, I had relatively more leeway while others were stuck. I could occasionally answer when called on by the teachers. The process could be called smooth.
Also, what surprised me was that this school did not have magic as an independent subject. It was a choice system between swordsmanship and magic.
Surely this was because there were those who could use magic and those who could not, so they made it that way.
And for the elective class, I chose swordsmanship.
Something Rubert told me in the past—was there possibly no one at the school who could professionally teach dark magic? I had thought that could not be, but when I checked, there really was no one.
That was how few magicians proficient in dark magic there were.
There were magicians of other attributes, so why… In that case, I could be taught basic magic, but since Rubert was already teaching me that range, there was nothing new to learn now.
So while Misty chose magic, I chose swordsmanship.
However, it was not like I could necessarily grow in swordsmanship at this school either, and I realized several days later that I should have just quietly chosen the same class as Misty.

I mean why would he even think of selecting Swordsmanship, a course in magic makes sence in all regardes.
1.He can probably learn enough sword from that Black keight he poached in the first few ch.
2.Magic gives you range, which is like the most predominant way for wars and combat, not like a sword can cut me if the one welding it is dead while being a 1km away.
3.Misty, why would he think to leave her when his relationship has not been the best lately. There is no excuse, cause it’s pretty clear he is not particularly interested in the one thing he needs to be and that’s politics. Also wouldn’t study in magic help him way more considering he has knowledge that far surpasses the average to even highly educated people in this world.
Also I kind of have a feeling that other guy from the previous CH that reincarnate like the MC will be in magic and is the prince of that other kingdom.
My prediction is that he will try and succeed to a certain extent at which point the MC brain… cough cough…. plot armor kicks in and she either realises what is happening or the MC helps her and the end.
Or it could be that it’s the Duchy guy, but who ever it is, one will go while the other will become a friend to the MC.
